Tesla has reduced its exterior color options to five, with the exception of Obsidian Black Metallic and Silver Metallic. The Model 3 is the only color offered standard, and other paint colors are available at a cost. Red holds the most value for the Model S, while white or pearl white is the best option for the Model X.
Over its lifetime, the Tesla Model Y offers nine exterior colors, including Solid Black, Red Multi-Coat, Pearl White Multi-Coat, and Pearl White Multi-Coat. The Model 3 also offers five interior colors: Pearl White Multi-Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, Midnight Silver Metallic, Red Multi-Coat, and Solid Black.
There are five main paint options for the Tesla Model Y, comprising 1 solid paint, 2 metallic paints, and 2 multi-coat paints. All colors are available on both specifications of the Model Y (Long Range and Performance) and, in 2022, the Model 3 comes in five different colors: silver metallic, solid black, deep blue metallic, red, and pearl white.
White is considered the best Tesla color due to its ability to avoid swirls and scratches, making it easier to maintain cleanliness. The Model S 2024 comes in five colors: Pearl White, Solid Black, Grey Mettalic, Blue Metallic, and Red Mica. According to Tesla’s website, the most common exterior colors for their vehicles are Solid Black and Pearl White Multi-Coat 3.
Vehicle paint codes include PPSB, Blue, Deep Blue Metallic, Ocean Blue (2015 and later), Metallic; PMSG, Green (2012-2014), Metallic; PMTG, Gray (2012-2014), Metallic.

Well i am getting the midnight silver metallic color for my new 2023 model Y. I have a silver Monte Carlo so I wanted the dark silver Tesla. Plus that color now comes standard no extra cost. Should be getting the car in about a week. I wanted the little larger hatchback vehicle with the model Y. Thanks for the article and take care.
Back here in The Netherlands you can choose black and white for free. I went with white, because after my lost black car i never wanted a black car again. Literally everything shows on it. Every tiny scratch is very visible in the sun. It looks great in black on the first day you own it, after that it goes downhill Where all colors free, i would choose red i think.
In case you get a fender bender or bumper damage. The white is the hardest to match . When redoing a white panel the painter will have a hard time color matching the three stage paint . Also the paint will need to be blended into at least one or more other near by panels sot that the paint blends in and not noticable The easiest paint color to match is black. There are many pros and cons to black. Black is very challenging to keep clean. Almost no one knows how to polish a black car. The red is also hard to match and still needs to be blended in most cases, depending on the shop and how good they are at matching and spraying the panel. Nothing is gonna be as difficult as pearl white. In some cases the pearl white car may need a total repaint if the shop is not skilled at painting right.
Do not call it silver, that is absolutely 100% grey. Silver was discontinued but now has come back for the Model S at least. To update the article also, right now, August 2024, the standard free color is grey and has been it for quite a while. I got the grey in 2022 for my new Model 3 Performance when it was still not free, and I love it (just like you). As for the heat, don’t bother that much about the car color, yes, black and grey and even blue will get hotter than white and the new silver, but what you need to worry about is the interior. If you live in a hot area, get white interior. Right now is free either black or white so take advantage of it. The interior is easy to clean and contrary to what most people think, the white interior is very easy to clean and doesn’t stain. To be honest, unless you live in a place where is cold 10 months out of 12, don’t get black interior, get white. And invest in high quality tint for both the windows and the roof. I got the nano ceramic all around and was the best investment. I can actually look up at the sun without burning my eyes, is that good (but don’t do that all the time, just for a couple of seconds, longer can do damage to your eyes no matter what unless you use eclipse glasses). The interior of my Tesla is black (I made the mistake not to get white) but thanks to the tint, the interior doesn’t get super hot. Basically, get the color you want, get white interior, and get tint and you are all set. As fromwraping, don’t unless you keep your Tesla in a garage all the time.
