How do you describe the Russian accent?

Russian speakers often mispronounce words containing multiple vowels when speaking in English due to the elimination of short vowels in Russian. Instead, consonant clusters have developed over time, causing Russian speakers to skip over sounds to cluster consonants together like their native language. To create a believable Russian accent, some ways to alter pronunciation include switching “w” with “v”, replacing short “u” with long “uh”, replacing short “th” with “d” and “zh”, replacing “h” with “kh”, and replacing “i” with “ee”, as there is no “i” sound in the Russian alphabet. For example, “wish list” is pronounced “veesh leest” with a Russian accent. By following these changes, Russian speakers can create a more authentic Russian accent.

Accents typically differ in voice quality, pronunciation, vowels and consonants, stress, and prosody. As humans spread out into isolated communities, stresses and peculiarities develop, leading to identifiable accents. • To all the people saying how the Italian guy “wAsN’T itALiaN”: I’m Italian myself and a lot of people have that exact accent when trying to speak English! It’s basically American English with a hint of Italian accent. We sound like that because we have a rotic “r” and we’re trying to have a more “american-like” r sound. Don’t think that we talk like mario and Luigi all the time lol. Hope it makes sense.

  • Look. I know that the stereotype of Italian accent is something like “SOMBODI TOUCHA MAH SPAGHETT!”, but in reality, unless you have a strong southern accent that would get you not understood even in Italy, you don’t really talk like this. It’s more like the guy in the article, not perfect, we miss some sounds, but it’s still undestandable. Also yeah, he’s black. We have a lot of black Italian people, we are in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, a ton of people comes here and eventually stays and makes children, so we have black Italians. Don’t mind if some douche say that because it’s black he’s probably not Italian, here racism is fairly common.

  • OK I’M SO TIRED OF Y’ALL AND THE COMMENTS ABOUT MY BLACK MATE. I’M ITALIAN. BORN, RAISED AND LIVING IN ITALY. HIS ACCENT IS NOT “LACKING” AND JUST BECAUSE YOU AMERICANS THINK WE ALL SPEAK LIKE SUPER MARIO DOESN’T MEAN HIS ACCENT ISN’T “CORRECT” . Plus there isn’t a right way to “have an accent” in Italy because we have different accents in the same region and we have 20 regions. So y’all if you don’t know something just stfu.

  • The “thick german accent” in this article isn’t really that good… I’m not trying to offend the woman in the article, she probably just lived very long in an English-speaking country already, so the german accent kind of gets mixed with her English accent and it can mess up words pretty bad. If you want to do a real german accent you have to do something different. First of all, Germans can’t do the English “th” because there’s no such thing in the german language. So what most germans do to avoid this problem is, to use a consonant that sounds similar to the “th”, for example, an “s” or a “w”. These don’t quite match although, so you can hear the difference. Germans also sometimes use an “f” when it’s necessary, so it matches the different pronunciation like in “thanks”: (θæŋks). (Just some side information) Second, the English “r”. Although german does have an “r”, it’s pronounced completely different than the English “r”. In german you sort of “roll” it at the back of your throat to create the kind of sound you would hear when a dog growls. You can watch this article if you want to learn more about it: youtube.com/watch?v=ckFEhgb4YRA A german person could try to imitate the English “r”, but it would probably sound something like the “w” in “one”: (wʌn) I think the woman in the article tried to do something like this, but she didn’t quite nail it. (Again: Not trying to hate on her! She should be proud of her English pronunciation. I’m also German and I can’t do it at all.

  • It is spacious and breathable. Wood cabinet in the kitchen is out of place, white would be better. Rail handles are everywhere and fireplace surroundings are sure enough open shelves. What else can designer come with? Such a cliche. If doors to the study are smoky glass then you will not see what is inside only when lights are on. It will create more privacy. Staircase railings have too much hardware. It is a little bit outdated.

  • The glass den all the rage these days. See them in every build 2023 onward. I do wonder whether I could work effectively in a glass room. I guess I like the feeling of privacy in my den. Also I would go nuts keeping the glass clean as I can barely handle fingerprint on stainless steel fridges. But looks interesting and appealing upon entry. Beyond the entry…my eyes and brain go bored. Nothing interesting to look at. Perhaps that was the intent to take my eyes to the windows.
