  • I always appreciate your tips on the best products. It seems like Wal;Mart has been stepping up their game with automotive detailing products. And don’t forget the Clearance Aisle, just for fun. Two days ago, my local WM had 16 oz bottles of Jay Leno’s Garage Vehicle Wash for $1.50 each in clearance – I quickly snapped up all four bottles.

  • Josh, I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I’m about 90% in agreement on all your recommendations. I’ve found the turtle wax max power to be consistently streaky. So much so that I just don’t use it at all anymore. One thing that has really surprised me and you may want to test out: crystal gx3 plastic restorer. It’s a spray which I don’t love but I grabbed a can out of curiosity. Very pleasantly surprised. Really good stuff. Thanks again and be well.

  • Hey Josh! I’m not a pro auto deailer, just a lady who likes to keep her ride shiny, clean, and pristine. That said, would you mind briefly explaining the differences between sealants, protectants, and detailer products? Also, please differentiate between polishes and waxes. I find them all confusing. Thank you!!

  • I agree on the shampoos, I use both in a pinch. Also use the Spray foam tire cleaner and dressing in a pinch works fine, but don’t rely on the cleaning aspect. Always have a whitewall/tire cleaner on hand and clean with a firm brush.Honorable mention for me is the Extreme Tire and Wheel from Armor all. Cheap and effective in a pinch. Meguiar’s cleaner wax is a great og it kinda combines a clay and wax in oneand yoyu apply with machine or by hand. Thanks Josh I agree with you and its great advice.

  • @imjoshv Hi, please requesting your input. Living in Jax, FL and have an MDX. The car had not been washed for few weeks and had a slight discoloration. The car had a quite a few bud splatters on the bumper and hood. Decided to hand wash the suv to remove the bug splatters, ended up buying TurtleWax Bug and Tar remover spray. Rinsed the vehicle and then applied the bug and tar remover on the affected area. Cleaned it by using a soft bristle brush so that it would not scratch the paint. To make a note the discoloration was also present on the hood of the suv. Using the soft bristle brush, the spray did lather and removed the bug splatter, to add it also cleaned, removed the discoloration and shine. I was surprised. It looks a lot brighter than rest of the vehicle. My question is, by using the bug spray on the hood will it cause any paint damage? Can the product be used on rest of the vehicle to remove the discoloration. Planning to polish, apply ceramic coating and wax the vehicle. Please requesting your input/feedback. Thank you 🙏.

  • Hi Sir, How does a mobile car detailer without a water tank connect his pressure washer to the water supply? can he directly connect with Tap? if yes, then which tool is required to connect the pressure washer and tap? if there is another method to connect the pressure washer to the water supply, please guide me. Sir, I need your suggestions about it, Thanks.

  • Great article! I’ve recently found your website & from what I’ve watched so far I feel your very honest about your product reviews & recommendations! I have a 23 civic sport that still has the new car smell. I want to clean & protect the dash but I don’t want anything with a smell to mask the new car smell. What would you recommend? I don’t need super cleaning power mainly just the uv protection

  • Josh, I’ve been very confused with the cerermic spray coatings.. whether to spray while the vehicle is wet versus spraying it as a final wipe down…. Can you elaborate?, I use tech choice ceramic spray.. but I have other options.. I’ve tried tech choice aqua glow.. don’t really care for it.. but where I’m getting lost is the drying of the vehicle.. I’m doing 4-6 vehicles a day with limited drying towels… I’m afraid of contamination of my drying towels.. and don’t really see the point of all these different sprays.

  • I had this 06 Avalon that was used for off-road and racing and was so filthy and wasn’t washed for I think about 5 years and I used suds labs and the car looked almost brand new, I had to clean it a couple times before it got a full clean because the car was just that filthy but suds labs is a 10/10 from me

  • Hey! I just started watch your articles a couple of weeks ago & have been very helpful in choosing what’s good for my car! I do have a question, I have chrome hubcaps & been wanting to bring the shine back. I’ve cleaned them so their just dull. Any product I can safely use on them to bring the shine back?? Thank you again for these articles!!

  • Hi Josh Love you reviews and articles. Came across you about a year ago and have been a subscriber since. I was just wondering if you knew of any after wash protection products from Koch Chemie. Like the spray on Cerakote Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant or the Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray that you like for the value proposition and if so can you do a review or a comparison on the product. I am liking the KCx product line and wanted to know if there is a line up of products that i could get from them for all my home car wash needs.

  • Not all WalMart Outlets are equal and my local Walmart is not one of their better locations. The service is poor, the shelves are a mess and the stock is not up to what you might expect from a large retailer like Walmart and prices have escalated to the point where it’s no longer the “Low” Prices you once expected. Now that last point may not entirely be the fault of this particular outlet but the service and stock issues are. I have checked out their Auto Detailing Aisle and their selection isn’t so special. Some of the products you mentioned I have not seen in the local Walmart plus the prices you quoted seem to be better than what I have seen in this particular location. Amazon gives me better service, next day deluxe in most cases, good prices and the convenience of not leaving my house and having to drive around a busy parking lot trying to find a parking place without having to feel like I’m on a Hiking Trail. Good Info Josh. You da Man!

  • 1000% Love this website.Wife is riding the backside for me to clean her -not drive thru car wash clean – car. There are so many brands for so many jobs. Im just your weekend cleaner guy.But Im personally in love with the entire TW Hybrid Solutions line. Ceramic is my new love( yea late to the party).Zero knocking any other whatever you use brand, Meguiar’s is my goto as well.Love there DA polisher(wish it was cordless) . GJ on this and the other articles.Dont be me – Read The Instructions.Makes it that much better.

  • Excellent article! Meguiars is very reputable, turtlewax has their new lineup there easy to use. I’ve found good quality from Jay lenos garage honestly as well. Only thing I’ve used from CG are their brushes, they have a wash mitt and towel if you want to go that route Josh V have you tried DIY Detail? That will make an excellent article

  • I’m going to comment while perusal this article on some of the products that you were reviewing great job by the way. The hybrid ceramic wax series that Meguiars has a Walmart is $9 a bottle at the store here where I’m at because the store got too much so the wax the ceiling and the spray are all dirt cheap in my store so I have bought a lot of it

  • Do a article like this, but for products at Advance Auto. I just went by one myself and snagged a few Adam’s products and was really surprised to see them in stock. Stuff like Iron Remover and their famous Detail Spray. I even snagged a Griot’s synthetic clay pad for wayyyy less than “getting in the zone” has.
