Using An External Growbed?

The Exterior Growbed is an appliance that can be constructed with the Habitat Builder and allows players to plant seeds and cuttings of underwater and terrestrial flora outside their bases. It has 24 slots total and can be found in Subnautica Below Zero. The interior growbed allows gamers to grow plants in a base module, while the exterior growbed allows them to create a garden on the seafloor.

The exterior growbed is a 4×6 tile space, 24 tiles overall. Players can open the exterior growbed by clicking on it with their access button, then move the shrooms over. They must cut them and replant the seeds. Ribbon plants, gel sacs, creepvine, and creepvine seed clusters grow in outdoor beds.

The Exterior Growbed allows players to utilize farmed materials for manufacturing, fueling the Bioreactor, or decorating their base. Once they have found plants or coral to propagate and grow, they can select “Use Growbed” and switch the plants over they wish to grow. Spiral Plants are recommended after harvesting them from Adult Vent Gardens.

Both the Interior and Exterior Growbed locations can be scanned at Omega Lab and other locations. The exterior growbed is suitable for growing smaller plants, such as acid/deep shrooms or gel sacks, and larger plants, such as ribbon plants, gel sacs, creepvine, and creepvine seed clusters, in outdoor beds.

  • I am SUCH an idiot. I was so happy that i got areogel that i didnt think straight. i biueld 3 filtracion machines and had to built a necrular reactor becouse of the energy comsumsion. Now i nead to craft fuel rods, when ALL this coud have been avoided if i yust got a indor growbed and planted the some watermellons. Not only woud it give me water but food too and i woudn´t have to craft so much. One of the biggest facepalms in my life. R.I.P 1 and a half hour of my life

  • Another easy way to find it is to look SouthWest directly at the Delta Dock Beacon 360m away from u and u should be almost directly over it. For any new or veteran players DONT pick up the different pre-placed base beacons u find. They are very useful to have as range markers if u come across an area u wanna get back to but u dont have a beacon in your inventory. If u dont wanna se them at times turn them off in the PDA meny instead. In the original Subnatica u hardly needed beacons becouse u hade 2 large islands and a massive ship for reference on where u were all the time. In Below Zero there are barely any land marks, atleast none easily spotted from far away so beacons are very helpful this time.
