Im a professional refinisher and trust when i say this is half fast temporary painting. You must use niosh respirator if you do ” toxic”. Count on it yellowing and peeling off in short time. Then be ready to pay a professional to strip off all that paint, and resurface it for real. You need chemicals to properly refinish. “Not clean and roll on cheap epoxy”
OH MY GOSH, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS article!!! As I DESPERATELY WANTED A DIFFERENT COLOR TILE IN BOTH BATHROOMS, AS I BOUGHT A HOME BUILT IN THE EARLY 60’s!! I begged my husband, “Just NO BATHROOMS WITH PINK, BLACK & WHITE TILE…” Welp, we found our “dream home” EXCEPT THE MAIN GUEST BATH HAS PINK, WHITE & BLACK TILE… I wanted to CRY… Until I saw the master bath!! It had / has ( I’m already getting ready to show my husband this article & get over to Home Depot ASAP!!) the WORST blueish-gray tile with a mosaic of a swordfish on the center wall in the walk-in shower, which the owner had JUST PAID TO HAVE DONE AND WAS SO PROUD OF IT, lol. And I just stared at it in horror!! The bath tub is totally separate & modern and luxurious etc. then he ruins a gorgeous glass shower stall with hideous tile & a mosaic of a swordfish!! I really would like it ripped out, but that’s going to have to wait until my best friend works his way up to where I live and he’s going to do ALL OUR TILE, GRANITE & REFURBISHING OF OUR BAMBOO WOOD FLOORS ALL FOR A WEEK IN ONE OF OUR AIR B&B’S & MY UNLIMITED 4 PASSES FOR ANYONE TO USE FOR ANY DISNEY THEME PARKS AROUND THE WORLD. They’re stricly for my family to use and let our close friends use, as a gift for my father doing all the software design and coding for the ride inside of the giant Epcot ball!! He could stay at one of the Disney resorts, or even use them for Disney cruises, but he wants the wife & kids to enjoy the theme parks while he enjoys the B&B LOL.
Prefer the blue. White bathrooms are super over rated because they are hard to clean. Is the paint even harder to clean like I imagine it would be? I am obsessed with clean bathrooms and give our bathrooms a good run down every 7-10 days. Our bathrooms are 1950s blue with yellow and green with pink. I have fallen in love with them both and wont change them. They are in great shape. I hope you are still enjoying it.
I do this as a living. Usually i dont tell people but paint tiles or glazing your tub with homedepot products will chip and fall one of these days. Those are meant for short term temporary. It could last several months or less than 3 years depending on use and how you abuse your shower/tub. People that dont have the money or cheap people or flipping houses do these stuff. If you plan to live there over half of your life … doing these stuff is a waste of money
Her description of the process application was confusing. She at first says the first application must sit for 3 hours and then apply the second coat, AND immediately after that say you must apply second coat after 1 hour or you would have to wait 72 hrs to apply second coat….. I guess I’d have to wait until I go to Home Depot to know for sure. Plus an up close look at the finished product would have been nice as well.
I am confused. After first coat she says the second coat must be applied after letting it sit for “3 hours.” Then she says “if the second coat is not immediately applied after the “1st hour” then you will have to “wait 72 hours before applying” the second coat. 🤔🤔Huuuhhhh 😤this was supposed to be easy grrrrrr
