  • Good morning. I like the chrome. Looking fine. I like the way that you made you seam behind the wiper housing so the wind wouldn’t peel it off.👍 I have used carpet foam underlay on seats and door panels. It works pretty good. Spray contact cement on it and done like dinner. I ask the people at the carpet shop if they would save me any big pieces that are leftover from a job. FREE FREE. 😊 Your job turned out very nice. I like it. 👍👍😷

  • Another great article. I admire your versatile building skills. It’s hard to be a one man shop. What province are you in? Have you heard of Cold War Motors in Alberta? He doesn’t do customs like you. He restores old cars saving them from the crusher, but mostly his own DIY like you. Thanks again. I love this car.

  • Hey Brent, Greg here .My gosh I’m perusal this and on the top right hand of the screen it says 38 Pontiac gets get a coat of primer well not all of it . I thought it looked good in that picture ..”.well look at me now !” WOW does it ever look good . Thanks for today’s “lunchtime chow down chrome trim and upholstery show .” Neat idea that trim, the upholstery looks fine to me too.I recall a few years ago someone told me just the material to do their interior was $ 3500.00 . Glad I’m just a little fish in a little pond !

  • I really appreciate that u do everything yourself no matter what it is… you are the true definition of DIY All im wondering about why not sticking back seats making it 2+2… the car is quite long though rather of just paneling all that… And the reddish brown on top is kinda off? Looks nice making a continuous line all around the car but up there… either being a new headliner color or perhaps just ending with chocolate brown still… just an opinion though! Thx

  • I am liking a lot Brent. I don’t know how that you can work with someone perusal as it just nails me to the cross. I see a camera or someone looking over at what i do and its instant goof up. I guess I just got old and it case you’re curious, I would of if I had thought of done the same as I like the breaks in solid colors. I know that when you go into a upholstery shop, might as well just empty your pocket and see if they leave you anything to get home on. I got a car done in mexico when it was the very thing to do and before I got back to washington state, I had a headliner around my ears, and the door panel had slide down just to find out that the thread they used was the problem. I did get it fixed as I just couldn’t live with the ugly I caused. It was a sixty Bonneville and it had really nice factory stuff but that was gone when I got my car back and I learned later if I hadn’t stayed there the car would of been gone too.

  • Thanks for sharing yes you have to be very resourceful when looking for interior design lucky for me I live in California bay area and there are many diffrent places that sale materials. They through out couches and chairs all the time here my brother took a leather couch some through out and use the material for his truck. Brown leather couch

  • I like the color combination, the brown matches the car nicely. My only negative is I would have liked to have seen the panel behind the door curve at the top toward the door opening so the headline wouldn’t be as hard to fabricate. The chrome is a nice touch to finish the look of the windows. It’s a car I’d be proud to drive everyday. Todays cars all look like lumps. Nice work.
