My target up until about 6 months to a year ago looked like that. They closed it for a week or so and repainted and fixed that. Taking down the neons. I remember those. They changed signs and redid the makeup section to look like an Ulta/Sephora like set up. They added a Starbucks and then made their cafe self-serve. Just way different. It’s cool to see the neons again.
Our old Target Store in Richmond, Indiana had neon lights like this too before they closed it and Hobby Lobby took over and that Target Store first opened in September 6, 1980 whenever they bought out Ayr-Way as it was Ayr-Way before that… 🙂 But however, Target wanted to build a Super Target behind our old Target store in Richmond, Indiana to copycat Walmart, but there is an historic house that people fought to keep and they were stubborn homeowners who refused to sell it, so that is why that Target closed up shop in Richmond, Indiana instead. I wish Target would come back to Richmond, Indiana sometime in the future… 🙂 Because we definitely need a Target Store back in Richmond, Indiana really bad, because our Walmart in Richmond, Indiana is a joke where they only have one cashier lane open with a big long traffic jam in line even though they still have 10 regular checkout lanes and the rest of them are self checkout lanes now and a lot of people don’t like doing scan and go including my dad, because he would rather do an old fashioned cashier instead and a lot of other people are like that too, because it takes away people’s jobs… 🙂
You know what I’d like to see, Target putting up led neon, that is technically led, but the diodes are put inside a tube to give off that retro neon aesthetic, without the risk of poisonous gas in case it breaks. In addition, I’d like to see the color of the lighting gradually fade through the color wheel as it goes around the store. That way, we can see colors that have yet to be seen in Target’s neon lighting, such as purple, as it fades between red and blue.
