As Dillon Webb mentioned below (thank you), for the headrest guides of the front seats you have to unzip the OEM seat cover from the back where there is a zipper on either side. Then, unclip the cover from the guide at the bottom. This will give you enough room to stick your hand inside the seat and pinch the clips from the bottom. When you do that they come out easily.
Tbh, going with the STI seats in a WRX was a huge mistake in hotter climates. The cloth WRX seats stayed SO much cooler in the summer (especially when it decides to stay above 100F with 40%+ humidity for a week straight) and are just generally cooler than the leather STI seats. This works in colder climates, but where I’m at, I’d rather take one that had the WRX cloth where the alcantara is on the STI seats, as that would give me the best of both worlds.
