The Ikea Nutid Refridgerator water filter is designed for improved drying and wash performance, with Rinse Aid for better control of hard buildup. To replace the filter, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and follow the manufacturer’s advice to maintain clean, fresh water.
To clean the spray arms, remove the upper spray arm and pull it down to remove the filter. Clean the interior of the dishwasher with a paste of powdered detergent and water or use liquid dishwasher detergent on a damp sponge to clean the cooled-down filter.
To remove an in-line refrigerator filter, turn off the under-sink water supply and open the faucet to relieve pressure. Disconnect the old filter from the water line, removing the filter. If your dishwasher isn’t draining, the drain pump is responsible for removing any water accumulated in the dishwasher tub.
To remove filters (B) and (C), turn the handle counterclockwise and pull it upwards. Remove the filter (C) out of filter (B) and wash the filters with water. Turn the water to the refrigerator off and run a large pan head sheet metal screw into the end of the filter, leaving the screw head sticking out about 1/2″. After changing the water filter, reset the status light by pressing and holding the FILTER button for 3 seconds.
When choosing your refrigerator style, choose your location, and choose filter fitting/removal style. The pre-filter can be removed by the pull-tag and cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or water depending on the level of contamination.
In summary, replacing the Ikea Nutid Refridgerator water filter is a simple process that ensures clean, fresh water every time. Follow the manufacturer’s advice to maintain odor and contaminant-free water.

The customer said her dryer was making a loud noise and not drying properly I asked her why she never cleaned the filter.
True story. A customer brought in a big clump of lint from their dryer trap into a store, saying that they needed to buy a new “filter just like this one” because their dryer wasn’t working as well. Not only were they not removing the lint from the trap, they thought the lump of lint was actually a part of the dryer that needed to be replaced!
I grew up with a house that had a fireplace as it’s not uncommon for us to lose power in the winter due to snow. The best fire starter? Not those expensive little sawdust bricks…lint, from a dryer lint trap. A small amount of that lint can make starting a fire insanely easy. If you haven’t seen how fast that stuff goes up in flames, you should- SAFELY -try it for yourself.
This is why my parents always taught me to clean the lint filter before and after drying things to prevent buildups (as buildups of lint in the filter can cause fires.) Edit: I’m not trying to be that person, but… OMG THANK Y’ALL FOR 982 LIKES, Y’ALL MADE MY DAY 🥰 OK BUT WOW 982 LIKES…. I LOVE Y’ALL BTW
This reminds me of when I first met my fiance. I was helping him with laundry and told him to clean the dryer filter while I put the next load in. He looked at me like I was crazy. I pulled the filter out and it was literally caked on just like the one in the article 🤦♀️ Yelled at him that this could have caused a fire and killed him and his roommates. They started cleaning it every time after that lmao
I’ve never even seen a dryer in person but thanks to The Sims 4 I know to clean the lint tray every time lol Edit: Dryers weren’t a thing in Brazil until only a few years ago, the climate is hot and clothes dry quickly. I have seen dryers in stores, I only said I’ve never seen one to exaggerate. Edit 2: I’m not a he
I experienced this 1st hand 🤦♀️ My dad’s ex, allowed me to use her washer n dryer after she finished her laundry. Took her 5 hrs to dry 2 small loads. Once it was my turn, I went to clean out the filter and it was stuck. I finally got it out and I kid you not, there was enough lent to make a small quilt (way more then what was shown here). She was amazed when my load of clothes dried in 30 minutes 😂 She said she never knew it was there and she had the dryer for 3 yrs 💀
I love my husband so much when I say this, but he didn’t know that dryers have lint traps until we got married and I started helping him learn how to do his own laundry. I love him so much. He never had to do his own laundry until he moved out of his parents house and it was such a struggle to teach him. Now he’s a pro, but he almost burned our apartment down by not cleaning the lint trap
A tip for anyone moving from the north to south- get your dryer vents cleaned x2 a year!! The humidity accumulates lint more then the dry weather! 🙃 I thought my dryer was broken Edit: to be more specific I was talking about Floridas humidity cause it’s a beast but probably a good idea for other southern states to be on it too!! (Just in case) 😊
I did costumes at a playhouse attached to a very prestigious technical college. I washed and then dried some costumes. Being an experienced adult, I knew to check the filter. There was 2″ of lint. So packed down, you could have used it as a blanket. It came off the screen in one piece. Not one of those very, very smart young adults attending that college knew what it was or where it came from. We had a short meeting about washers and dryers. And not damaging the building they were placed in. In hindsight, it was very, very funny. The looks on their faces. Especially since we had to have that meeting multiple times that year.
Washed over my aunts house once. Immediately cleaned the lint trap after my load dried. She turned to her boy friend and was like “see she knows to clean that after each use”. Her boyfriend was like “you don’t have to do that you are a guest. Me feeling awkward said nervously “naw I got it. It’s just habit.” But thinking to my self where did you get this dude?
I just bought a house and found this to be the issue with the dryer not drying. First I unstucked the dryer filter (it took several tugs to get it unstuck) found it worse than what you showed. Put it back into service, still not drying, come to find out there was just as much dryer fluff in the filter as there was inside of the vent inside the dryer…
At my work, precisely in the building I work nightshifts in, we have a big dryer that works all day and night long, every day, whole year round and apparently I am the only worker who ever opened the filters and cleaned them. Suprise suprise, drying full dryer of wet clothes takes up to 1,5 hours instead of 4. Some people think Germans to be mechanical geniuses who work properly but let me tell you, people, they are like robots, if you don’t train them to do something they won’t even think it was a possibility
Perfect song for this lesson. If you are from America, check out your local CERT program at the fire department. An oily filter can be a quick flash if other mechanics fail in the unit. Soap and water once a month (depending on use). Dry the filter fully. Replace. Take lint out every use. Saves the appliance and lives.
I always check it every couple of uses its serious enough to effectively give your dryer an asthma attack and potentially burn your house down so I respect life is busy but there’s no excuse for forgetting important things like that I used to set a reminder every few days for a while now i don’t need reminding. I’ve seen lots of house fires in the uk over it 3 fatalities sadly
My dad bought a used dryer on marketplace. We couldn’t find were was the filter. We ended up finding it, and it was in the same place as this one, and it was stuck, almost glued. The dryer was not drying properly. My dad almost called the person from marketplace to return the junk. I am guessing that the previous owner didn’t know about the filter so they never ever removed the lint, so it ended up getting stuck with grime. My dad used a knife to cut through the grime around the filter, and he finally removed it. It was coated with so much lint. After that the dryer worked quite well, it lasted us about 2 years. Not bad for a $40 dryer.
Just to keep in mind, we left just a little bit of lint in our dryer one day. The whole house almost burned down. I’m not gonna lie when my mom went to go see her dryer because it had been running. She saw smoke next thing I know I come running down when she screams I see her open the dryer and it looks like she’s opening a portal to hell.💀
When I was growing up my mom had me start doing my own laundry when I was age 13… I swear on my life she never told me about the lint trap…. 10 years later and I had just had a baby and was living with my husband and mother-in-law and I still didn’t know about the lint trap… Eventually my mother-in-law confronted me, she thought I was just being lazy and not changing the lint trap. 🤷♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️🤦♀️🤷♀️😅 I swear on my life though I really had no idea there was a lint trap.
Moving from NYC where we had no dryer in the house, to Florida where we had so much space I bought every appliance we needed. I left my stay at home wife to go on a business trip right away. Came home three weeks later to find out my wife never had her own dryer before. She’s complaining to me that the clothes are taking longer to dry. My simple question, did you clean the lint tray. Her answer, what’s that. ❤ Damn New Yorkers 😂
That’s exactly what the lint trap looked like when I was trying to figure out why the dryer wasn’t drying at my 53-year-old then-boyfriend’s house (I was twenty-three at the time). I berated him and told him such negligence causes house fires. He didn’t believe such a thing was possible and called me stupid; it wasn’t until he’d seen proof on the Internet that he apologized for not believing me. Two red flags in that story alone. That relationship did not last long.
My sister in law did laundry daily and told me she didn’t understand why her laundry wasn’t drying. Six months of this…I did the same thing with her “did you clean the lint trap?” She said “I don’t know where that is” it was INSIDE her dryer and when I pulled it out…she started to cry and apologized to her husband. Why? Because she told him she did clean it and he was sure she didn’t. I swear….read the instruction manual to keep you alive! 😂
I never knew dryers had filters until I came to the US and having my mother in law tell me Thing is, I’ve done laundry back at my home before. My mom NEVER told me to change any filter… Like… Ever…. And we never had issues with the dryer So either she wasn’t doing it EVERY cycle, so she never told me to (highly doubt it), or our dryer just didn’t work like that? Idk lol 😭
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.
For women, i highly recommend using a handheld bidet sprayer instead of this as the front to back guideline still applies even when using a bidet. If you don’t, you’re essentially spraying bacteria from the back end to the front and that can lead to infection. So use a bidet handheld sprayer that allows you to spray from front to back, also able to aim where you want it and then dry thoroughly using a dry towel or toilet paper to prevent infections. 🙂
FYI, I got a bidet attachment for my elderly parents because my mom kept saying if she ever got to where she needed help wiping, she’d rather go into a nursing home than have my dad or me do it. She loved the bidet attachment and she passed without ever having to suffer that indignity or go into a nursing home. Keep that in mind for your aging family members.
After traveling as an American citizen in Southeast Asia for 6 months, my life goal is to get a water spout installed right next to my toilet if not a full Toto toilet that has the waterspout automatically built in it. Why does America not have this automatically? Americans need to travel more and learn from Asia toilet room/use tips and proper hygiene in the nether areas.
As a couple of white people, we love our toilet stool and bidet. The stool makes passing so much easier, and the bidet makes clean up a breeze. Both of them are amazing if you have a stomach bug too, because the water won’t irritate you like constant wiping with TP will, and the stool will make the process more comfortable, especially if you’re short like me.
The first thing my Korean husband and I did when we moved to the states was to get bidets installed in all three bathrooms and the powder room. The plumber was a little confused until my husband explained how great they are. Oh, we had two urinals put in too, one in the master and the other in a guest bath. Second best idea.😊
As an african, i was genuinely surprised that people used toilet paper as a kid 😭😭. We used to use those empty milk cartons cuz we didn’t have bidets when i was being raised in Ireland back then. Edit: omds, i didn’t expect people to be confused by my comment. Was it my wording? I’m a sudanese who was raised in Ireland. Of course, in a sudanese household we don’t use toilet paper after taking dumps, we use bidets. But since Ireland’s a different country from Sudan, the toilets are built different with no bidets so my parents would just use empty milk cartons, fill them up with water and boom. Its kind of similar to those Lotas that desis use.
Thank you, Family, for showing cultural differences in a light-hearted but profound way. The UK educational system has always embraced multilingiualism and various religions: you have yours and I have mine, but let’s celebrate these differences. The US needs more of this, especially in the current climate.
I recommend a hand held !!! I’ve cleaned for lots of for people and places that have the toilet seat or built in to the toilet bidet they always get dirty and are hard to clean throughly, even the self cleaning ones can get gross being in the toilet. . a hand held one hangs next to or by the toilet . Mine is stainless steel and is easy to disinfect on the regular. Also wayyy easier to aim with and very nice spray control . Only downfall is mine does not have temp control so in the winter it can be bit chilly lol . — a non Asian
These are actually amazing if your a woman who gets constant utis or bacterial vaginosis like me I wipe correctly always have lol front to back but still got these commonly every month because of how sensitive I am down there bidets are amazing completely fixed the issue haven’t had a uti or bv in like 4 months would get them every single month
I convinced my family to get bidets in 2020 during the toilet paper crisis lol. No regrets whatsoever. we haven’t owned toilet paper in so long. It’s better for the environment and we save about $300 a year on TP. It also has helped me, someone who has a highly sensitive bottom, lots of pain. I used to get my bum irritated because of my ibs from wiping so much but now i feel clean and great. I’ve even been convincing my friends to try it! sooo worth it 10/10
The stool is extremely necessary lmao ive been pooping with a stool to prop up my feet my entire life. At first I used to do that because I was too short for the toilet bowl but eventually it became a habit and now its impossible to poop comfortably without it 💀💀 Also I recently learned that a slight fetal position relaxes the bowels or smth and makes it easier
While I understand that water is better than toilet paper to wash everything off, water spraying from the toilet looks unhygienic😢 And I couldn’t share it with someone else, I feel When I had a hygienic shower, I used it for cleaning the floor (fill the bucket with water) 😅 cannot imagine it the proper way, I would cover everything with water
One of my teachers made it a point to let the class know when he was in dessert storm the Arabs used water. This was the mid 90’s so Americans were even more ignorant about about water, bidets and real hygiene…many still are. Well when he said that everyone let out sounds of disgust. At that moment I thought to myself…although I’m not from the Middle East, many Asian countries also use bidets. When everyone was disgusted by the idea I was internally embarrassed….FOR THEM😂😂😂😂😂.
It‘s disgusting how people still decide to only use toilet paper to wash their bums after finishing. Don’t you feel disgusted walking around like that? The entire Middle East and Muslims and Asians and even the Italians got it, and you still wash ketchup off your fingers with water but don’t do the same after doing THAT?!
first of all, not every Asian country has the water spray for the toilet . and if the water comes out from under the seat cover, there is a high chance of it getting polluted. i’m Asian and I always avoid using water when I see it b/c I’m always afraid that the water will carry the germs from the anus to the vagina and I don’t want to touch the handle that everyone touches. recently i also read a doctor’s article about not recommending people to use that for the same reason. meanwhile, the little stool squatty potty is invented by an American in 2011, has nothing to do w/ Asians
I can see a towel to dry off if you’re the only one that uses your toilet. But what about everyone else that does? What about kids? What about guests? They ALL just stacking butt towels in your bathroom? That’s not only nasty, it also adds to the expenses, and also the laundry and frequency thereof. I’m all for bidets, I just haven’t seen the best drying method as of yet, outside ones with dryers.
The point of the article was to tell us they wash instead of wipe not wash and just get off the seat without wiping. Some people prefer to wipe with a clean towel or pieces of cloth thats used once and washed after since the butt is washed arleady it is clean properly so using a cloth is best. A reusable cloth is also a cheap way for some people.do remember a lot of other people are sensitive to toilet paper.just saying thought so please dont kill me
