📹 Freshen up your Home for the New Year!
Are you looking to freshen up your home for the New Year! You can fall in love with your home all over again with a few simple …
Small question, do you eat with that Christmas setting every night, or do you leave it there for the special celebratory meals, like when family comes over, etc? Because I would be worried the plates would get dusty sitting out all the time like that. I generally only put my plates out when it’s time to dish up.
Girl, you have a beautiful house. I don’t have the space or the money to decorate like that.! But to me it’s not about the space or the $. It’s about the love, peace and joy in my heart! Remember Jesus was born in a stable. Maybe instead of a train under the tree, put a nativity. Hope you find the love, peace and joy this holiday season. God bless you. Jesus loves you celebrate Him.
Just found your site. Great ideas. Thank you. Wondering what a guest does at the table with 2 napkins? Which one do I use the white or the plaid? Liked the ideas about the candles and ribbon. Thank you for the ideas. I like garland also. I do put a lot of ribbon around the house. I use 1/4 inch satin red and green and just tie bows everywhere. Tops of pictures, floor lamp switch, around figurines. I started this years ago and used these as my tie backs. Thank you again for all the new ideas. Merry Christmas.
I’m going to try to do something like this for my home next year. gonna start with the living room since it is the most visible spot in my home. My house isn’t big but I’ve got enough rooms to decorate. I’m planning now. It’s gonna be so much fun. Also you are like me. I’m the only person that decorates and puts up everything. I liked it at first but it became tiring and it felt like no one appreciated it ( i live with all boys). But I still like to do it and it I pace myself like you suggested it seems to be ok. I’m so excited…I can’t wait.
I can’t keep a plant alive either. 😫 Your book really helped me to understand my organizational style…I’m a ladybug. My fiance and I were perusal Friends the other day and he said, “Wow…Monica and Rachel’s kitchen is your nightmare!”…and he was right! Way too much stuff to look at. You are looking great by the way!

” A Sparkly Butthole”,,,, I simply cannot stop laughing. PRICELESS ! BTW,,, a few years ago I was directing a choral group & wanted background on a song we were going to sing, so I typed in the song’s title: ” Are You Lonesome Tonight ? ” OOO MYYYY GOODNESS,,,, apparently there are lots of remedies available for THAT question online. At any rate, I think your turquoise “Sparkly Butthole” looks marvelous – – – but I am STILL laughing !!!

First, you look AMAZING!!! In case you didn’t know that, well, you do now. Second, lol, I love the painting!!! Sparkling color and all. Not a sparking butthole but I know it’ll be stuck in your head just because your child said it. I know. Same thing happens with me when my children say crazy things. Lol.

Happy New Year Cassie and family! This new year looks good on you! You must be noticing a huge change even in your energy level. I found when I lost weight I had more of a bounce in my step. I always look forward to the new year as it feels like a fresh beginning. I feel motivated to declutter, organize and clean and it feels good. Also I wanted to say I love the colours you’ve chosen for your family room/living room…..not sure what room it is.😊 I wanted to paint my walls to a gray and have that beautiful ice blue with possibly silver and white accents. Of course starting in one room will lead to another and a hell of a lot of money…….don’t think the husband likes this idea….lol! I am changing things up a bit. Even buying new pillows or recovering them, changing things around in the kitchen, ex. buying a few cute mugs. These small changes can be just what we need to refresh the home. Thanks always for your amazing articles! 😊❤️🙏🇨🇦
Putting of taking down Christmas thinking it’ll take a long time? So Me, olus knowing how Empty the space will feel after. Though I’m brainstorming ways to fill some of that blank space with spring stuff instead. Despite having a cold I started taking things down last evening for a while until I had to break and call it a night kinda out breath. And Yeah it did go Way Quicker than in my head, though I didn’t fold the tree away which usually takes a while Because If you Don’t do it exactly right in the correct order it won’t Fit its case. Here’s hoping it’ll go quick too this year.
Cas – I adore your color scheme and decor. I think the painting is actually lovely (and hilarious now that I heard your story). I’m the same way with plants. I’ve actually found some bigger fake plants at the thrift store as well. You are looking Fabulous!!! I hope you are feeling better and stronger as well. Have a great day friend! Blessings – Judith
You look fantastic, Cas!! So proud of you! The Babeness! To fix the sparkly butt hole, go to Hobby Lobby or someplace crafty and get some snowflakes of different sizes, spray them with sparkly white, silver and darker blue spray paint, cover them with glitter, and then stick them on the painting. Put little ones over the center and then use the graduated sizes of snowflakes coming outwards so it looks just like the sky when its snowing. or mix them all up. Or put some little ones and one big one over the center and then more coming outwards like an explosion. If you look up when it’s snowing, it looks like all the snowflakes are coming out of a central point in the sky. Have you ever noticed that? Just like when you are in the woods and look up, all the tree tops are circled around a center opening in the sky. At least it looks like that. It’s like, wherever you are in the woods, you are always in “The Center”. Profound!
Blahahahahahahahaha! I kept looking at that painting and I fell in love with it. Then….hahahahaha, literally snorting. Ohhhh how I needed to laugh like that. Glad it’s not just me. I’m 55 and I’m supposed to be mature. But I too have said the same thing, “…I have the sense of humor of a 4th grader…” Glad I’m not alone. Also, You rock AND you look so great!
Lol!!! Butt hole painting 😂 Just so you know you can return stuff to homesense and winners as long as you still have the price tag on, or can put it back on. They don’t need a receipt. They will just give you another gift card for the amount. So if you get sick of walking into your living room and looking at a giant sparkling butt hole you can still return it! You look amazing btw!!! Congrats on losing the weight!! 👍😄
Cass.. ok I have to agree.. but.. it also looks like a sparkly, blurry iris and pupil… and I like it LOL… I’m purging little by little. We didn’t get a lot of decorations out this year, but it is about time to get them put away. I have some things I want bought to make new decor, so I am thinking I am going to make those and put them away as they are finished. I hope you had an amazing holiday season!! Happy New Year!
Wow girl u look amazing. When I turned this article I was like who is this pretty lady. Anyways totally love perusal your articles I am too lazy so anyway to make cleaning and organizing easier I’m all for it lol Keep up the good work and keep the articles coming. Love perusal till the end your stories are funny Love you from Canada too 🇨🇦
You are so great at decorating! You have such a great eye for it, you have made your house look amazing! The sparklybutthole is hilarious. Once you see it you cannot unsee it! LOL. I have a similar story about kitchen towels. I really love bees and I have kitchen towels with bees all over them. One day my elderly father was visiting and said “Why did you get kitchen towels with flies all over them?!” I can’t I see the flies now! There bees me so happy, but now all I see when I look at them is flies!
I bought a work of art and saw a beautiful flower in the middle…… until my husband pointed out that it looked exactly like a penis. Couldn’t get passed it so took it down and reworked it as best I could. It still didn’t last long in the house. Once u see it u can never take it back . Did I mention the art was 3 feet by 5 feet?😂❤️🇨🇦
I love the picture it looks fantastic with your decor. You look amazing, when I lost a lot of weight it took for me to lose quite a bit before it was really noticeable and you definitely reached that point. I’ve noticed your weight drop since op but I know you got frustrated in one article as feeling it wasn’t going fast enough but you definitely got to the point of it kicking in and you looking slim now. I’m so pleased for you. 😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow Cass, you are looking amazing. Haven’t seen you for a while and last time you seemed a little down about the progress after your surgery. But let me tell you, you look great. Sparkly butthole, hilarious. You could always diy an inspirational quote on it to draw the attention away from the centre.
ha ha I know what you mean about someone ruining your choice of art, I had this painting that I loved when one day someone was visiting and commented that the eyes in the painting looked like Lee Majors( 80’s actor) so ever since that comment that was all I saw. Needless to say the painting went in a garage sale.
