Hanging baskets require frequent watering during summer, especially if there is minimal rainfall. However, it is crucial to ensure good drainage to prevent root rot and ensure the plants stay moist. To maintain soil moisture, use baskets with drainage holes or porous materials like coconut fiber.

Plants in hanging baskets need nutrient boosts to keep up with their growth spurts and energy. Watering annuals frequently can wash away vitamins and minerals in the soil, so they need to be replenished more frequently with fertilizers. Deadheading hanging baskets can encourage new blossoms, but not all annuals require this. Some self-cleaning plants can handle spent blooms on their own. Popular hanging basket flowers that don’t require deadheading include:

  1. Sunflowers: These plants require sunlight to grow and produce flowers. They require a lot of light to grow and produce flowers.

In summary, hanging baskets require regular watering and proper soil drainage to ensure their growth and health.

  • Hello everyone! I wanted to expand upon our 2021 article entitled “The Rattan Trend in 2021 | 5 Ways to Decorate your Home with Natural Materials”. That was actually the second article on our website and seeing as rattan is one of my all-time favourite materials, today’s article shares how to incorporate this timeless material in a variety of design styles! Let me know if you have any rattan items in your home in the comments below 🙂 xx

  • I just want you to know how much I appreciate you holding the shot long enough to really see all the elements you are showing in a photo. Most people flash up a photo and then move on to the next before one has had time to absorb what is in the photo. I’m in the process of building a home in British Colonial style and you are an invaluable resource. Thank you.

  • I have a couple of pieces, and little storage baskets, but you’ve got me appreciating rattan and cane accents in a whole new way. It does really anchor a space with a more earthy and relaxed feel, whilst being classy and timeless. I think glassware and shiny metallic accessories look so great with rattan, coupled with plants and greenery; that high end, Barbados-Bahamas resort look. It can also provide a bohemian style, reminiscent of the 70s, especially those big high-back, Papasan chairs. Another stunning article!

  • ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️….. I have quite a number of these pieces….your article has made me fall in love with them all over again…..and has inspired me to pull out stored wicker/ rattan accessories to incorporate into different areas of my home……this is a article I will watch multiple times when I need inspiration….Thank You!…..✌️💜💋

  • This for was the loveliest article I have ever watched. I love rattan. I have 3 cane arm chairs in my balcony and a small settee with twa armchairs with cane seating in the living room. I wish I had more. Loved the old walnut round table with rattan chairs. I have an old walnut table with brass claws on castors. It belonged to my great grandmother, and I need chairs for it. The diameter is 54 inches, how many rattan chairs should I place around it. The table fits 6 comfortablely and 8 a bit snug.

  • Greetings from Santa Fe New Mexico! I have a charming rattan rocking chair of wicker that once was my maternal Grandfathers. For many years it resided on a wraparound porch of his Victorian Queen Anne home in my home state of Missouri. I rocked in that chair for many a summer day during my childhood. The chair was painted a glorious green color; my Mother had it repainted an oyster white and had the cushion recovered in a blue textile. Today, it resides at our family farm ranch house in Missouri, which I am in the process of renovating. Thank you for all your lovely Vlog posts!

  • ❤STUNNING❤ I took your style quiz a short time ago – I lean Brit Colonial Islander – and this perfectly timed article solidifies why I don’t follow trends. I like Hamptons-style as well but you had answered me that they compliment/overlap easily. Having lost my hubby & Mom in the past 6 weeks, this calm & beautiful Film grounded me today, & I’ll come back to it again & again. Hoping to keep some of Mom’s white wicker patio chaises and blond rattan n cane bedroom suite! Your Fan Fr Florida 🌴

  • Dear Suzie, I couldn’t agree more with all the positive comments of fellow watchers of your inspiring website. I just wanted to let you know that in one of your shots (20:18) a book caught my eye – Travel Home: Design with a global spirit by Caitlin Flemming and Julie Goebel. I ordered the book by just following my gut and … what a book! The authors did an exceptional job. One of my absolute favourites among my collection of design books. Inspiration comes in many disguises. Thank you again Suzie, you never fail to enthuse.
