AirStone is a lightweight stone veneer product that can be installed on exterior surfaces such as siding, masonry, or stucco. To install AirStone, follow these steps:
- Unpack a few boxes of stone and prepare the surface by making sure it is clean, dry, and free of dust and dirt.
- Start at the bottom and at corners using a hacksaw to cut pieces to fit.
- Add finishing touches on top of the stone using a putty knife, a hacksaw, and the AirStone color collection of your choice.
- Install the AirStone system by following the installation video instructions provided.
- Measure the space you want to cover to estimate the size of the stone. For indoor applications, use AirStone Interior Adhesive, which covers approximately 30 square feet. For outdoor applications, we recommend Loctite PL Premium Construction Adhesive, which is 28 oz.
AirStone is an easy-to-use stone veneer product that doesn’t require any specialized skill. All you need is some interior or exterior adhesive, a putty knife, a hacksaw, and the AirStone collection of your choice.
To apply AirStone, wipe off any dust from the back of the stone, ensure the wall surface is flat, smooth, clean, and free of dust, dirt, grease, oil, or other contaminants. Press the stone firmly and evenly to the wall, allowing adhesive to compress upward across the entire back of the stone.
For exterior projects, leave a ½” gap between the bottom row of AirStone and any hard ground surface to prevent cracking in case of ground swell or settlement. One possible method is to coat OSB with a waterproof membrane and then screw down cement board as a sub-wall to adhere the stone veneer.
