This video provides step-by-step instructions on how to remove the rear door panel in a 2010 Dodge Nitro, as well as the interior door handle on a 2009 Dodge Nitro. The wires come out of the frame, through the door jam, into the rubber grommet that goes into the door and then from the inside of the door to the inside of the internal door panel.
For the 6 speed shift knob, the procedure is the same for the European version. For the automatic shift knob, most can be pulled straight. A trim removal tool, a Torq 20 screwdriver bit, and a crosshead screwdriver are needed. The security cover should be removed, and two Torq screws holding the luggage tie down fixings should be removed.
To remove the inner door panel in a 2008 Dodge Nitro, pop off the door handle cover and remove the window switch panel with a plastic trim removal tool. Undo the window. Tools needed include a pry tool or something similar, OEM part number 55360932, and a 10mm spanner to disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes.
In order to remove the interior door panel, use a very thin pry tool to remove cap screw covers from the front door trim and remove the screws from the front door trim. If you need to remove the inside door panel, carefully pop the bezel out and unplug the climate controls, lower portion switches, and hazard lights.
