How To Set Up A Dishwasher To Notify The Outside World?

This tutorial demonstrates how to manage notifications for your Bosch Dishwasher SMV4HTX31E in the Home Connect app. To control your dishwasher, you can use voice commands like “Alexa, ask My Dishwasher for status”. The Amazon Echo requires the word “Alexa” to wake up, while “My Dishwasher” is the keyword for addressing your Thermador dishwasher.

To manage sound settings on your DW50R40* dishwasher model, follow these steps: cycle button for 5 seconds, display “0:00” when entering setting mode, and send notification messages to one or multiple devices when the appliance starts, finishes, or the watchdog is triggered. Your end message can include estimates of total power consumption and cost.

Understanding dishwasher symbols is essential for efficient use of your appliance. Dishwasher safe symbols indicate if an item can be washed in the dishwasher. Different materials, such as Aqara power sensor, Lutron scene button, and Home Assistant, can be used to send notifications at the end of the day if you forgot to start the dishwasher.

To turn on PUSH notifications, open the App, click on the appliance you want notifications from, and click on “Preferences”. Dishwashers with a model number starting with GDF/GDT/PDT/PDP/CDT/DDT/ADT/ZDT will make a beep or tone when the control panel is touched. Integrate Home Connect Dishwasher with Hive View Outdoor to create powerful automations in minutes.

You can get a notification when your dishwasher cycle is done by typing what you want into the box to the right of the slider or clicking on the 3 dots and going edit in YAML. Front status lights show washing in-progress, drying in-progress, cycle completed, and blinking if the cycle has paused. If the issue persists, turn off the dishwasher at the circuit breaker for two minutes, then restart it. If the issue persists, seek service.

  • Pine sol is an amazing liquid. IF you can find it with real pine oil in it. Read your labels. 1. Put it in your washer to really whiten whites and 2. Put it in a spray bottle (no dilution) and use it for your out door bbqs to spray around your patio to ward off flies. You can even spray your doorways of your home to keep them from coming in during the summer.

  • This was randomly in my feed but it’s cool to see how similar we humans actually are (and pretty creative). I do this but I just use a paper towel. It’s also interesting to see how useful pantyliners truly are! I use to be a criminal defense attorney and I must say, the ladies in gen pop really knew some life hacks and used what little resources they had. The women would often grab 2 maxi pads – one with soap and water and the other dry. They wiped the tables before and after meals to keep things as clean as possible. They used the pads because toilet paper was not as available and way too thin. I really hope the ones who are out now are using their minds for the better. God bless ♥️

  • I put panty liners in my shoes in the summer. (uhm… no pine sol, ick) Change them out daily.. Keeps your feet dry if you dont want to wear sock with you shoes and sweat and slip free in sandals and slide on shoes. ALSO you can pull off the adhesive cover and fold it over the seam and adhere to the armpit of a short or long sleeved shirt if you need help with perspiration pits. I also adhere the adhesive to the bottom of a zipper pocket in my purse and inside a travel carry makeup bag just to help keep them cleaner longer. You can cut them in rounds or squares for the size you need and also use them as felt pads on the back or bottom of items to protect surfaces from scratches. LMAO. 🤣 So many uses no wonder they’re tough to find right now… stock up.

  • Was you in Prison? Because we use pads to sweep, mop, wax our floor and clean the walls and metal .And 5 bars 🧼 soap softened in a jar to use a caulk around the lockers beds any holes 🐜 ants come in from .Rub Vaseline around the bed to floor bars so ants wouldn’t climb up on us. So yes this is not new you can use pampers to clean big areas. Use both for the over run of after pregnancy 🤰🏽 milk over blankets sheets sometimes the lil ones at store don’t get it all just use one of newborns pampers or nighttime ling pads.

  • OK Ladies, I’ve got one for the guys! Yea, You heard me! Construction workers, I’m a brick layer, when the sweatband on your hard hat gets funky, dirty and nasty rip the old foam pad off and using the “wings” of the pad attach a “new” clean head band to your hard hat. After a few days replace it. It’s way cheaper than buying a new liner and if you have the type that tightens it’s a whole lot easier than replacing the old one.

  • Remember to sharpen the scissors with aluminum foil. Rub the blades & cut through several layers of folded aluminum foil to sharpen. (Old seamstress trick.) Also a hospital/nursing home trick: line the garbage can with multiple bags (I usually do 4 bags at a time). If turned wrong side out for strength, put in one at a time. Advantage for the seniors or busy person, as the top bag gets full – toss it. That can is already lined for the next batch of garbage. (As a widow, the 4 bags at one per week, I have a months worth of lining. Plus, I buy the lemon scented garbage bags to deter bugs.)

  • Hi I just wanted to let you know of the cleaning trick that I do. I will take a whole panty liner and when I am using the Swiffer I’ll just stick it under the Swiffer and put whatever liquid I want it works so good and then you can just throw it away right after. I get the thick panty liners because they hold a lot of liquid

  • Take a bag…put a folded up newspaper in the bottom, put a bag on top and a newspaper in the bottom of that…the newspaper absorbs excess wetness and helps keep it from seeping into the bottom of the can, but if you keep layers like this, no messy bottom of the can at all…it just goes into the next bag.

  • Scissors: buy the 99 cent METAL ONLY blade scissors. Bend the blade so that it closes tightly against the other blade. That will make it cut whatever you want. As the scissors get old, the blades bend back, and there isn’t enough tension toget them to cut the material you want them to cut,so you will have to bend them again.

  • I put all those annoying fliers from local stores in the bottom of my trash cans. I fold or cut them to the size of the bottom of the can. I try to make sure that it’s about five or six layers thick. So if anything leaks out of the bag, it soaks into the newspaper ad and the bottom of the can doesn’t get messy. Whenever there is a leak, I then just take them out, clean out the bottom if anything has soaked through and replace. Also, you can put in a few drops of great smelling cleaning solution or essential oil on the paper to give the can a clean smell.

  • I don’t think that just the smell kills bacteria, you have to contact the surfaces with the liquid to kill bacteria. Great for smells and odors though. Only thing that gets the “frito feet” smell out of my doggies blankets. Just add to first wash. Second wash I wash with regular laundry soap, just to make sure pine-sol is removed.

  • Stinky smells are a way of letting us know there is bacteria growing. Rather then cover up the smell it’s best to clean and disinfect. That little panty liner doesn’t get the job done as far as cleaning that big garbage can. Lol It is a good idea if you stick it underneath your toilet water tank on both sides. To keep bathroom smelling fresh.

  • Nice idea. A good secondary reason bachelor(s) should keep “girl stuff” under (their) sink. I’m going to try using pest repellant with this advice. Probably also tear out the inner lining, replace with baking soda, and deodorize the fridge. Thank you for the inspiration and reminder of unusual hacks (they’re good shoulder pads, too)

  • Oh my goodness I literally clicked on this article because I thought the woman was telling the world to put this chemical on pantyliners and then wear it throughout the day. I’m so glad it ended up being a house cleaning article and not a “how to poison your vulva” article. For context I searched up best pantyliners for daily usage and this article was in the results.

  • I just told my husband that I have these certain panty liners that I’m going to look for a new use for! I’m actually going to put them in my shoes bc my shoes are dirty inside and my feet are dirty after wearing and then my floors get dirty! I’m planning on washing them but until I get to the laundry mat…

  • Sharpen all your scissors at one time even you manicure ones. Remove the top of your soda can after it is washed out, using a serated knife. This will sharpen it too. Now, slice down the can about 4-6 times close together. Cut those slices off so you don’t cut yourself. Now do all your scissors accordingly. Aluminum sharpens steel. You can also fold 3-4 pieces of aluminum foil and cut them all at the same time like you did your can. Make sure you are cutting thru all the sheets at the same timt

  • I will use lavender essential oils but love the panty liner thingy. One time I used Pinesol to clean my garage floor when, not housebroken German shepherd, our outside dog, spent there to get out of the snow storm. I didn’t think his well built dog house was warm enough. The Pinesol smell, or as I say stink, is over powering.

  • To avoid smells, we have a small trash that we throw into the outside trash can You can also just quickly clean the trash can before replacing the bag . As you are only masking the smell. A spray bottle with vinegar can easily clean it Pinesol I grew up with but it has sooo many chemicals that’s probably not good for you the breathe

  • Great idea!! I especially like the trash bag one because I just disgusts me. I’m a very neat person and I hate it when the butter my trashcan smells or get stuff on it when I buy expensive trash bag liners! Thank you I’m gonna spend my time at figuring out where else like inside the vanity, under the bathroom sink.. instead of spending money on those expensive air fresheners. I love the smell of Pine-Sol. Inside your linen closet. Definitely shoes because even your sandals take on an odor and I don’t understand that at all. I don’t remember 30 years ago having this issue. They must be using very toxic products in our shoes no matter how much you spend for them … does Anyone else notices?

  • Nice tips I actually have a trick of my own for my garbage Cans you can get any spray bottle Pour anyany fabric softener of your choosing inside of the garbage can as well as the trash bag even the top to the garbage can if you want I know that you can purchase bags that already smell like that but those boxes Don’t have very many bags

  • Great tips! Not sold on garbage can smelling delicious 😂 You should have mentioned the large rubber band to keep bag from slide down 👍 Note: be careful when removing the garbage bag (the rubber band might shoot into the garbage without you realizing it! It took a while to figure why an older friend of mine kept losing the rubber band 😮)🎉

  • LOL!! This is what I’d use my free samples that you got in the mail for. Also stick them up on the front facing side inside a closet. A tiny squirt bottle of what ever your scent is and you can give it a little squirt once a month or so. Great for that closet that you suffer stuff all the winter gear in! Also stick these saturated in your fridge and freezer oF Your camper, motor home or picnic coolers even if you’ve washed them out well (I’ve used 2 with mr. clean or saturated in bleach for coolers in case of mouse attracting odours trapped in the plastic) not in use in the winter. 👍

  • Idk I leave my xtra bags hanging on the rim of trash can. That way it’s not touching the bottom & You can also put softer items at the bottom of trash so the sharper items do not tear the bag. & to prevent nasty smells, wash out your recycled items like food cans, soda cans, milk jugs etc. Fruits/ veggies put them in toast bread bag or container to prevent fillies, roaches, ants bugs etc. You can also put small things down the drain & shred with garbage disposal but it can clog… use at your own risk lol

  • I love this hack, but instead of sticking that pad on my garbage can, why not stick it right on the outside of the new garbage bag to do it’s work and then out with the trash? Ditto with the shoes. Take out the insoles, wipe them down with pine sol and leave out to dry. Stick the pad inside overnight for some super deep freshening.

  • those are cheap, thin trash bags. we used to have these problems with garbage until the pandemic happened and we were forced to buy whatever trash bags we could get at the store. of course, the most expensive bags are what were left on the shelves. we tried the glad and hefty flex trash bags and never looked back. no more breaking or leaking. spend a little extra and get glad force flex.

  • You know those Swiffer jet liners remind me of pads. I told my mom I may as well be using pads to wash my floor because that’s exactly what these look like. I really don’t feel like the floor gets very clean with a pad. Try washing your table off with a pad, it’s mostly wet and the dirt just gets moved around. Now I see you using a liner, which I think would work better. There’s the ones with a plastic like cover that’s like a mesh with holes, that’s the kind that doesn’t clean but the cloth like ones would be best.

  • As a man, i have questions. Many many questions… Aside from why when i search for “Catapillar bushing grease” I landed on pine sol panty liners. Ok. Many questions answered as i type this. My mind wondered as a mans mind typically tends to do (a man with a brain from the 90s, not a 2023, the “look at my new bra” men of ’23)😂

  • “Sticky, A sticker, A magical sticker” Thank you for posting these articles. I can’t stop laughing. All in the panty liner and the mafical sticker! Mam you are awesome! The trash can will now smell yummy! Ohh my goodness! Pretty sure the panty liner will be dirty. Wow!! So many different uses for pantyliners that some would never expect. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE TIPS, MOST OF ALL THE LAUGHTER!

  • I bet we could eliminate those car freshener trees that hang on rearview mirrors and just hang a panty liner dosed with pinesol instead. (You could even use your old worn out tree as a cutting template for that pantyliner also) Or better yet, use an essential oil of your choice which smells better than the pinesol. Ahhaha this will be great for one of my comedy skits!
