How To Repair The Vw Cc Exterior Handle Cable?

This guide aims to address potential causes and solutions for a Volkswagen CC door that refuses to open, whether from the inside or outside. The first step is to try to solve the door handle issue on any of the doors. Next, check the annoying roll pin, which can also be a cause. To replace the cable, you need to open up the inside panel and pull out the lock module.

To remove the driver’s side door handle, follow these steps: unscrew 3 trim screws, pull off the door panel starting at the bottom, lift the door panel so the door lock can fall through, and unplug the white plug leading to window switches. If you have the right tools and instructions, replacing the door handle on your VW is an easy DIY project.

The door latch can be removed by two screws in the side of the door, and the cable can be easily taken off and replaced. The handle should be installed further back and slide it forward so the piece the cable attaches to is behind the plastic piece it’s hitting. The cable can be adjusted according to the Haynes/Chilton manual. Twist the cable to shorten it, make sure it’s plugged into the door handle assembly correctly, and the cable is fully seated.

In 2002 Passat B5.5, the car went back to VW for a handle recall, where they said the drivers door cable had stretched, costing £140+ VAT for a cable.

The rear door doesn’t open from the inside and i have tried to take the panel off but it has another plastic panel under it which looks like the one on the right in this article but doesnt have the seperate part to get into where you are showing? its the one on the right but the full way across, if that makes sense!
