How To Remove Thick Dirt From Painted Exterior Walls?

To clean exterior surfaces, use a scrub brush and detergent solution or pressure wash and a thorough rinsing. Satin, gloss, and high-gloss paints are more resistant to dirt accumulation due to their smoother finish. To prevent stains, lay towels, newspaper, or absorbent material on the floor under your work space to catch drips. Wear rubber gloves to avoid dirty hands. Mild dish soap can be used as a universal cleaner for painted walls. Prioritize spot cleaning to prevent stubborn stains from accumulating. Avoid cleaners with ammonia as they will break.

  1. First Clean: Wash the surface. If it comes clean, repainting may not be necessary.
  2. Deeper Cleaning – Interior: Remove stains, dirt, and marks with a soft cloth or sponge and water.
  3. Preserve the newly-painted beauty of your walls by using two main types of scrubbing: wet scrubbing and dry scrubbing. Wet scrubbing is more effective at removing dirt, mildew, and oil stains without removing the paint.
  4. Use a small amount of dye-free hand soap or dishwashing detergent dissolved in warm water

To clean an exterior wall coating, mix warm water with a few drops of dish soap or a proper cleaning solution. Rinse the wall with clean water before spreading the solution over it. Leave it to soak for about five minutes before scrubbing it with a soft-bristled brush.

To clean an exterior wall coating, use a garden hose with a spray jet nozzle or a low-pressure powerwasher. Pressure wash gently and then spray with algae and mold cleaner like patio magic (B and Q) and leave it on the walls.

Start the cleaning process by starting from the top and using a stiff broom or brush to loosen any clumps of dirt followed by mild detergent and warm water. Remove household dust with a feather duster or gently wipe them down with cheesecloth or tackcloth periodically.
