How To Remove Skin-Colored Interior Paint?

To remove paint from your skin, use soapy water, baby oil, rubbing alcohol, or nail polish remover. The method depends on the type of paint and can be done using oil-based or water-based paints. To soften paint-covered skin, rinse it with warm water and apply mild soap or dish soap.

If paint is stubborn, stick to dish soap or an oil-based solution. If the paint has dried, dampen a cotton ball with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and let it work for one or two minutes to dissolve the paint. Wash the area with soap and warm water, using a washcloth to provide a gentle abrasion.

Olive oil is a simple trick to easily get paint off by wiping it over the affected area. Wet the area, lather it with bar or dish soap, and scrub it for a few minutes. If the paint is oil-based, use oil and water and lightly rub it into the skin before washing off. Cover the painted area in a light layer of mineral or baby oil.

Pain can irritate your skin, so scrubbing will only worsen it. Use a gentle exfoliator like a loofah or washcloth to remove paint. Grab some paint thinner, such as odorless or cooking oil/motor oil/gasoline, and rub it onto the skin. Wash the skin with soap and hot water until squeaky.

In addition to sunflower oil, you can try olive oil, coconut oil, and non-food oils like baby oil. Then, “wash” the area with soap and water.

  • I use coconut oil, then soap. That’s all. Works well, every time. Preventative Measures: Wear disposable gloves, long-sleeved shirt, and a baseball cap when painting. (Tuck your hair away under the cap, best as you can.) ***Never put paint thinner, or any other chemical spirits, directly onto your skin or hair!***

  • My son just came home from doing community service covered in silver oil based paint and is currently putting olive oil all over his hands and arms! He is working it in with a dish sponge. Took a lot of it off but I am going to add some sugar to it like your sub from above 👆🏻 suggested! Thanks for posting this article!!!!
