To open the Nissan Sentra trunk without a key, follow these steps:
Push the trunk release switch located below the instrument panel on the left-hand side. If equipped, press the trunk button on the key fob for about three seconds. If not equipped, push the request switch above the license plate. Lift the lid to open the trunk, or the trunk will open on its own.
Open the driver’s side door. Look for a small button that provides an escape mechanism for children and adults in case they become locked inside the trunk. Pull the illuminated release handle to open the trunk from the inside.
Access the trunk from the inside. Open the driver’s side door and pull the illuminated release handle. If your key is lost or damaged, you can access the interior of your car using the keyless entry system.
Try the manual trunk release located inside the vehicle. Fold down the rear seats to access the trunk from inside. If your key is lost, pull on the door handle to unlock the door.
Look up and behind the rear sets, under the back window, there are two little platic hatches. Pull those up and the seats come out. Fold down the rear seats and get into the trunk. Take off the trunk cover and find the small switch on the trunk.
Open the access cover on the rear parcel shelf. Push down on the button on the rear parcel shelf. Fold down the passenger’s side seatback.
Locate the trunk latch by checking the valet switch. Slide it to the up position and retry.
Access the emergency release handle inside the trunk or use the key slot near the rear speakers to open the trunk.
