  • You tell everybody to use a stainless steel wire brush to clean the inside of the bowl and then to follow up with a non-abrasive sponge. What do you think a sponge is going to do to the surface that the stainless steel wire brush hasn’t already done? A stainless steel wire brush is gonna be way more abrasive than any sponge.

  • I bought a 70 Anniversary Webber Grill last year finally used it last night and today when I went to clean it the outside of bottom bowl had like a splatter look of oil around the handle area all around only on side can someone tell me how that would had happened oh I didn’t mention the Webber is Yellow!

  • Way too basic info my friend. I’ve had a few of these Weber kettle grills over many years. Most people don’t clean an already clean kettle. Doing what your doing with lots of buildup isn’t going to do much at all. Getting after it with a razor blade scraper after wetting it, and using some real elbow grease will get much better results. Thank you.

  • wow this is a bit much. I live in Florid awhere our biggest concern is rust. Cleaning the grill is the easy part but, we use warm water with Dawn, a grill brush for the interior and a sponge on the enamel exterior. That’s it. Scoop the ashes or dump them into a bin and we move on with life. This procedure is a bit over kill in my opinion. But hey, I’m not a pro.Our grill has lasted 5 or so yeaars and we use year around. I would appreciate some tips on rest proofing this thing though.

  • Local TV fix-it guy Gus Gnorski’s method was on a hot day, put big sponge in pie pan, saturate with ammonia, put inside grill and place lid on. Cover grill with large black plastic garbage bag (to keep the fumes inside) and leave out in hot sun all day. At end of day, clean up with water hose and a brush. Works great.

  • With a slop sink, your grill cleaning chore is practically done. When done cooking, I carry my Jumbo Joe to the basement & place newspapers on the floor near the slop sink. I use Windex window cleaner, Palmolive dish detergent, SOS or Brillo pads, a sponge and some clean rags. NO grill brush. SOS pads to clean the cooking & charcoal grate. Rinsing them off with a sponge. I use the dish detergent to remove grime from the interior & exterior of the Jumbo Joe. And Windex to give it some sheen.

  • But … you don’t mention how to clean with the: 1. Weber Exterior Grill Cleaner; 2. Weber Grate Grill Cleaner; 3. Weber Stainless Steel Polish; 4. Weber Stubborn Stain Remover, 5. Weber Three-Sided Grill Brush; 6. Weber Detail Grill Brush; 7. many other Weber grill brushes on your website; 8. Whether the grill needs to be hot or cold to use these various products; 9. How to avoid many emergency room accidents that occur yearly with loose bristles from brushes exactly like these? 10. In short, you don’t mention much of anything about how to really clean a charcoal grill kettle!

  • The OEM stainless steel grate can be cleaned outside the unit with Easy Off and turn back into near brand new finish if desired (stainless steel parts only) The ashes on the bottom, those which remain after the cleaning blades turn, can be sweep off with a regular paint brush (new, not used for painting) Those cleaning blades underneath, the ones controlling air flow, are made out of aluminum… this grill should only be used with charcoal… not wood, this one generates quick higher heat and will damage the blades, which can be replaced quite easily. The Kettle is rough, but it can easily be damaged like any other grill if the user makes very common mistakes…
