Looks cool but its not practical. Clothes take the most space and this guy doesnt even have a closet in his room. And where do you put the sneakerboxes, Sneakerheads dont throw that og box away. and lol @ fitting 3 hats on a 5 hook hanger, yup its designed for sneakerheads allright. All that heat and u buy a shitty ass bed. Also, its a student room but there is no desk. THIS article = U CAN BUY IKEA SHELVES 4 SNEAKERS. OK.
I like it! I like the simple clean design. Only thing I didn’t like (other than those desk table lamps trying to pass as museum lights) is that rug. I think it’s too common and it gives off college dorm vibes. It’s one of those items from Ikea that tries to pass as expensive but you can tell its from Ikea, thereby breaking the illusion. Very unlike the Strandmon velvet armchairs—which, even if you know they’re from Ikea, can pass as expensive-looking because of how tastefully they’re designed.
This is amazing!.. and IKEA Dressers should be secured to the wall …I am an interior Designer that has used IKEA in my work for over 9 years and have used the dressers in hotel projects secured to the wall like the instruction say to do… less than 10 deaths in the US ever reported … I think it’s pretty amazing that IKEA took responsibility seeing as so many other companies out there have the exact same issue if not secured to the wall and they have not come forward… they literally have made commercials putting themselves out there about the dressers… But what’s crazy is that for as long as I’ve been using IKEA the instructions have all stated secure dresser to the wall … there’s a kit that comes with the unit to do so… they even offer additional free kits to secure to the wall at the store just in case you lose it. all I know is that I have 4 different Ikea dressers in different sizes all secured to the wall ..zero issues 9 years later and they are all packed to the rim… I figure the price point is very low so if it says the security security… You have to take that in mind based on what something is made out of rule of thumb… anyhow this design is super cool loved the the article
what about the actual stuff you need to keep in your bedroom – you know – like actually living in a place? Not like a showroom? where would your clothes go? How is any of that practical? You’ll spend like an entire weekend cleaning the shelves that will be covered by a layer of dust. this is what i don’t like about designer rooms – they don’t think about practicality.
This feels like 1/3 complete, where do you store your clothes, where is the hypebeast computer desk and monitor, with a PS5? Some KAWS figurines or bearbricks. Also, come on with the plastic plant – you’re talking about people who freak out about creased Jordans and are going to supposedly maintain an all-white IKEA room. Im sure they can water their plant.
Im 15 and im prob going to redo room soon and every time I think bout it more and think bout the excessive clothes I have I become hurt cuz I realize shit 3 years n im in college fuck im doing wasting money still and then I wanna live in parents house forever but not rlly jus the house lmao cuz I got attached to my house
Showrooms always look cool but not practical for real world application. Even for collector items that are not used regularly, these sneakers on open shelves will turn into dust magnets in a week. Open, sleek shelves whether to store your fancy sneakers or to store your sound system only looks cool but pain in the ass to dust every week.
I think it looks great 👍🏻 looks built in and stores so many shoes!!! Love it and it’s nice having the bench to sit on to put on/ take off shoes, the shower curtain is a great idea too as it keeps it looking tidy. Maybe some nice storage boxes on top of the Billy’s for little items like gloves scalves accessories etc.
What I did to get them standing up straight is I built the frame of the first one, and left it. Then I built the frame of the second, and laid them both side to side on the floor butted up against the wall skirting boards. Then I shimmied them until the foot-ends of both shelves were level, THEN I started attaching the boards on the back and tacked them to the frames. So they were perfectly square when I stood them up, and had no gaps between them. Then I continued to use the same methodology of using the first one the I built as a guide to build the rest straight. What you’ve done looks good though.
I live in studio, and this article gave me the idea of shoes shelf, ty! I would do same :D! only my concern is how can I clean the bottom of shoes? I am afraid of if I use disinfectant wipe or liquid stuff, that could spoil the leather of shoes 🙁 Great article! I go for Billy book case now, I wish Ikea reward you to make this article lol!! I love that dungeon too!
