Corrugated metal panels are designed to overlap, ensuring a seamless look and preventing gaps between panels. To ensure proper overlap, each panel should be at least 1 to 1.5 inches, depending on the panel profile and local conditions. To install corrugated metal on interior walls, remove any baseboards or molding and use J-track trim to create clean edges and secure the panels.
Overlapping corrugated metal roofing requires using work gloves and tools such as 10″ x 2″ screws and polycarbonate washers. Attach the panel to the roof truss using 10″ x 2″ screws and polycarbonate washers, overlapping the panels at least 2.5 inches. Choose the right roof to let light in and keep heat out of your home.
Professional roofers recommend a minimum overlap of 2.5 inches between corrugated roofing panels. Use high-quality materials like wood strips for the overlap, and caulk side edge overlaps at the top of the rib and end overlaps at the ends of both the top and bottom sheets. Place a second corrugated sheet next to the first with the ridge of the corrugated sheets overlapping. Use caulk between the two overlapping corrugated sheets.
If end laps are required, allow 300mm minimum overlap, sealed with butyl sealant tape 10mm from the edge of each overlapping sheet and in the seam. Align the next panel with a slight overlap to maintain consistency in the metal’s ribs for a seamless look. Continue working one panel at a time to achieve a polished and professional finish.
