To replace a Kenmore microwave light bulb, follow these steps:
- Lift off the vent panel and set it aside.
- Loosen and remove the screws holding the cover of the box in place.
- Remove the cover to the light box.
- Unscrew the bulb from the microwave and remove it.
- Screw in a new bulb.
- Replace the cover to the light box and tighten down the screws.
To change the light on above the range type microwave, follow these steps:
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Press the door-release button to open the microwave door.
- Unscrew and remove the screws holding the vent.
- To access the light, remove the vent panel and control panel so that you can reach in above the microwave and replace the light bulb.
- First, unplug the microwave and remove all screws going into the outer shell of the microwave. Some screws may require a T-shaped screwdriver.
- To change the bulb, first remove the entire cabinet (remove 4 screws on the back of the microwave and lift the part up).
- Check for the interior light bulb burning out in January 2008.

I got GE profile over the range microwave, I want to replace the bulbs that are at the bottom and provide lighting on the stovetop. It says 120v 40w for incandescent or 120v 20w for halogen. Is there a bulb number or model or those info are good enough? (looking for 5000k bulbs as I like those white lights)
