HP Business Customer Service offers repair work and on-site replacement for business customers who wish to use their printers after the warranty period. The service can be requested individually and comes with a 6-month warranty for repairs or a 12-month warranty for replacement parts. HP provides optimal maintenance service, especially for more complex business printer models.

How do I get my HP printer to work again?

In order to restart a wireless or Ethernet network-connected printer, it is necessary to restart the router, reconnect the power cord to the printer and a wall outlet, and then turn it on. HP recommends that the printer be plugged directly into a wall outlet.

Why is my HP printer not printing anything even though it has ink?

This condition manifests when one ink cartridge requires attention or is defective in some way. Such defects may include malfunction, incompatibility, damage, absence, or incorrect functionality. To rectify this issue, it is necessary to ascertain the compatibility of the component in question, reattach it, clean the relevant area, restart the system, and replace the component if necessary. Is it worth repairing a home printer?

Inkjet printers typically last three to five years, depending on usage. If your current printer is approaching or has exceeded its expected lifespan, it may be time to upgrade to a new model.

Comparing repair costs to the cost of a new printer can help determine the most cost-effective option. Older inkjet printers may have discontinued parts, making it difficult or impossible to repair them. If the printer is no longer supported, it may be time to upgrade.

If your current printer has outgrown or your needs have changed, buying a new model may be the best option. Newer printers often offer improved features and capabilities, improving productivity and efficiency.

If you still have a lot of printer supplies, repairing it may be worth it to get the most out of them. However, if the repair cost is significantly more than the cost of the consumables, it may be better to replace the printer.

In conclusion, deciding whether to repair or replace your inkjet printer depends on factors such as the printer’s age, condition, and repair costs. If you’re unsure, consider consulting a professional printer repair company in Sydney to evaluate the printer’s condition, diagnose the issue, and estimate repair costs.

  • I was recently given an HP envy 6055e. It has taken me two days of setting up accounts, plugging it in, unplugging it, hard resetting it, setting up apps on my phone, downloading programs to my computer, attempting to download the firmware… And it still doesn’t print. I’m pretty sure Envy refers to everybody who has of these and really wishes they had any other brand.

  • FYI this isn’t a reset, this is turning off and on. You don’t reset your password by closing your laptop and then opening it up again. Also, unplugging after turning off the switch makes absolutely no difference as the connection has already been severed. I’m here because my HP printer won’t reconnect to the WIFI and I am unsurprised to find that HP is clueless about a lot of things.

  • I am having trouble setting up my 4120e. Followed instructions on HP Smart and connected to WiFi OK but printer says it’s connected to the network but no Internet connection. I can still print through WiFi Connect but not through the home Internet WiFi network. Tried multiple devices, same problem. Its a 5GHz Network connection not sure if this is the problem? Please help.

  • Hello, I have a Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw. When I power on the printer, the touch screen will not come on. I have tried unplugging, waiting 60 seconds, plugging back in, holding down the power button etc. The printer shows as offline even though all cables are plugged in and I can hear the printer is on, the touch screen does not follow.

  • Well the reset did not help. I have an HP Photosmart D5360 and it refuses to print on CD’s. It pulls it in, does its thing with the printer head moving back an forth as expected, and once finished, it spits out a blank CD. Just last week it was printing fine on CD’s and I printed 14 of them. However, if I switch to paper printing, the image that I was trying to print on a CD, now prints perfectly on the paper. So in short, it prints on paper with no problems, but it does not print even a tiny drop of ink, on a CD. Removing all HP software/driver, and then loading the latest revisions, made no difference either. HELP !

  • I have a HP Envy 5000. Everyday it keeps going offline when it still connected to wifi. I searched and follow all your instructions on your website. I keep reconnecting and adding the printer PIN to my window 10 laptop. This happens everyday. How do I stop this from happening completely ? I can’t not be doing this, I really need your help. Thank you.

  • Hi, I hope you can help me. I thought a printer reset would solve my problem but it just changed to a different problem. My HP Envy 4500 printer first started printing blank white pages despite cartridges being over half full. Then after a printer reset (removing power supply as HP guide) the printer printed a completely BLACK page. I then used Print and Scan doctor, cleaned ink jets, realigned printer and printed again. The tray contained a black page with horizontal shaded stripes. a perfectly printed alignment page and a white page with a narrow black horizontal at one end. I don’t know what else to do. 7 hours later. Another print just now and I’m back a square one. A blank white page followed by more blank pages. I tried another printer reset followed by a print job. The result is another blank page. I use Windows 10 OS and Firefox browser.

  • Is this really the best you can come up with? I was printing my documents just fine when HP Smart suggested a firmware update. I should’ve waited until I finished all my printings, but no, made the biggest mistake of updating the firmware first. Now, the update doesn’t progress, my printing is stuck, and then printer just won’t start anymore. The power button blinks a few times and then the whole printer shuts down completely.

  • My HP Deskjet 3050 j610 used to connect to my old router wirelessly just fine, but my old router died. I got a new Nighthawk router and for some reason, it sees the printer in the network, but my password always is wrong? HOW? I’ve changed to pasword a hundred times, and it works perfectly for everything but the printer, why?? I have the printer set up by USB, but really want it to be on the network.

  • I reset my printer as shown and put new HP ink cartridges in and the orange solid light was still on and it would not print from my computer so then I disconnected it from the computer and manually printed a copy and that worked fine and the orange light went off. I then put the computer in airplane mode and then turned WiFi back on and reconnected the printer to the computer and now everything works fine! 😅 So sometimes the issue is with WiFi! Our power was off last night so that probably caused a problem

  • I’ve been trying for 2days (and nights) to sign into new account. Now it tells me my email doesn’t exist. My old account is close to 30 years old. All my computers & printers have been HP. I currently have an ENVY laptop which serves me well. I don’t understand why HP doesn’t know me. I wish someone could help me because I want to purchase an ink program that, hopefully, includes a replacement for my HP that recently died of old age ( was a very old and well-worn LaserJet, just used black toner. I now need a color printer to use with my photos. Please help.

  • seems to me that for at least black and white printing there should be a way to ‘burn’ the paper to make it appear as though it was ‘inked’? and i mean for use with common printer paper,..? not where now customers have to buy ‘special paper’ ‘for use with special thermal printer” ofc the big printer companies will lose money on ink cartridge sales if this happens? no ink printer using precise heating element ?

  • My hp Deskjet 4535 all of a sudden decided it isn’t printing certain colors. I’ve changed the cartridge, cleaned it, cleaned the cartridge(both levels), reset the printer, factory reset the printer and it’s still only printing black, magenta and red. Saw people mentioning checking the print settings but I’m on a mac and all the instructions are for pc. Honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

  • I keep getting an “reconnect your printer to the internet” message. I can print if I do manually by pressing the ok button on it and the printer says it is “ready” and is working wirelessly, however this message drives me nuts. I can not print from my pc or phone any more unless I physically go to the printer and press the “OK” button on the “reconnect your printer to the internet” message. I have tried to pair the router to the printer in order to recognize it but it doesn’t work…any advice- I am going crazy with trying and not a thing is working. wireless is fine- wired is not…something internal in the printer? It is only 4 months old- an all in one printer HP 8035e..thanks everyone

  • HP I have an Hp office jet pro 6970. I got a paper jam message and did not have any paper jam at all. I checked every path carefully and did the reset thing as you suggested. I still get a false paper jam message telling me to report error ox610004a to you. Also my carriage carrier is stuck on the right. It will not move manually and it will not move when the access door is closed. I looked to see if the gear that frequently broken and it appears ok. I am stumped on what to try next. Any suggestions? I am fairly capable of doing technical stuff. Thanks.

  • i bought a Pro MFP M281 cdw HP Laserjet printer couple of years ago. Everything has been working perfectly fine until last week when I start getting “49 Service Error”. I tried various things like shutting off and turning it on, trying to download firmware from my PC HP account to the printer. (My PC recognizes the printer though the printer is in error mode). And also trying to reset to factory mode by pressing the right bottom corner of the small screen in the printer when you turn it on. Nothing has worked yet. What do i do? Is there anyone who could help pl? Thanks in advance.

  • Had a HP printer, gave me all sorts of issues regarding the printhead/ supply problem / etc. Troubleshooting guide online didn’t work for me . All the information found online is like calling the service center and they’ll ask “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” Never again will purchase another HP product, why pay for something that gives you more problems when your life is already full of problems.

  • Hi, i have changed my internet and wireless router. I am unable to connect my printer to new router/ wifi as the printer is still searching for the old wifi. I went to setting mode and tried searching for my printer in the hp app but it not working. I can not find my printer. I can connect by hp direct but then again there is no option to change wifi. Can you please guide me here. Thanks

  • I keep having this supply system error and hp help desk is no good, giving me only steps to reset and reinserting the cartridge which I told them I already did so prior reaching out to them. Finally they simply told me to bring it to a vendor when my warranty has already expired. What kind of customer service is this?

  • I have a 9025 and this is not working. The printer was not working so I deleted it to reinstall i. Once I did that my screen has frozen with a message that says”the indicated cartridges are genuine HP cartridges that were previously installed” I removed them and reinserted them as a troubleshooting suggestion that DID NOT WORK. I am on day 4 of trying to “fix” this. Because this model is discontinued I am unable to get necessary support. There is no reason that a 2 year old printer that looks like new should have to be replaced. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HP

  • I had to go to my friend’s house to fix her printer.HP Office jet 3830 after she said someone accidentally unplugged it. After she plugged everything in it could not print anything from the internet or word. It works like a copy machine. Wifi was online. The job said ready to print but it seemed like the printing was continuing to load for a while and never printed. Does anyone have any hints or solutions?

  • I connected the HP Neverstop 1000w printer to my android wifi and its got connected and also its showing the printer name while printing the PDF file. But whenever i select the printer 🖨️ name it shows the error that the printer isn’t available right now. And then i tried everything which is recommended on hp site but my problem is still Unsolved.😓

  • If your HP Color Laserjet Pro M252 or M252n printer is displaying Chinese characters this is how you fix it. On the button pad is the ‘OK’ button between the left and right direction buttons like this; ” (<) (ok) (>)” and a ‘cancel job’ button which looks like a red ‘X’. The button press sequence is; ‘Cancel Job’ (to ensure printer is in ‘ready’ state), then: 1. left direction button 5 times, 2. ok button 2 times, 3. left direction button 6 times (the word ‘English’ will appear), 4. ok button 3 times, That’s it. The LCD screen and web page are back to English text. Here’s the fix using the printer web page, which is quicker if you can remember it’s IP address. (It might be cached in your browser, try typing ‘192.168.’) From the Home Page select the second tab, which is the ‘system’ tab, Click on the seventh (7th) menu item. Select the fourth (4th) page item. (This is a drop down menu.) Scroll down and click on ‘English’. Click on the FIRST green button below the line to apply the change. That’s it. The LCD screen and web page are back to English text. I’ll put a article up tomorrow.

  • This won’t work for me with an ENVY 5530….screen shown “printing alignment sheet” with the whirling blue circle above….but nothing prints…with good ink and paper….it just goes and goes….only option, hit the red x and the “cancelling” goes into the same mode….never completing. What a shame! All I want is to return to the menu screen to scan some documents. “HELP ME HEWLITT!”

  • How do you fix error 0x61000072 on HP ENVY 4520 serial no. th57s1k0qh product number: fov69a I have tried resetting it from administrative tools by stopping print spooner and restarting it. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in. I disconnected ink cartridges and placed them back on. I’m not sure what to do next. Please, help.

  • Hi I changed my printer to print only Black Ink, changed the cartridges, color and Black, but now the printer App is gone off of my printer touch screen and nothing anyone suggest, including HP has helped me get it back. Can’t change the settings back to color and Black ink without the Printer App. PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • How do I set up automatic configuration? in an HP OfficeJet 4652? Every doc. prints way to small, not matter what I have the percentage set at. When opening the device settings, I attempt to set the configuration to automatic I select “update now” but, it won’t allow me to update. The selection only goes back to “automatic configuration ” off”. This is impossible to change. I’ve been having issues with this printer for over one year and am ready to take a hammer to it. I’m not paying $100 or more for HP tech help. The tech will only tell me to do everything that I’ve already tried. Unplugging the power cord, and then plug it back in, disconnect theUSB cable and reconnect, restart the computer. All of the same old same old. I’m sick of HP. I’ll never purchase another HP product.

  • I have the hp deskjet 2050 and it always gets stuck with a document printing first couple of times this rest worked but every now and again I leave it for a few days and it won’t work I have a document stuck on “deleting” after I tried to cancel it from priming because it was taking way to long to come out

  • Got the HP officeJet 250 it keeps showing on the screen “a problem with the usb device has ocurred. Remove the usb device and then restart the printer hp printer” already tried with unplugging the power cord for 3 minutes and still showing the same message also tried to full reset it from the screen but it doesn’t let me. Please help!

  • My question is, why do I have to connect my printer to the internet just to complete the setup before using it? Windows 10 saw the driver and set up everything up. HP Smart is a waste of time because even though it sees the printer, I have to run another damn program to finish the setup on the printer itself. What happened to just getting the full software and running it to set up the printer? The full offline software currently just gets stuck and won’t set up the printer. This is why Xerox is better than you.

  • Please show how to check hp laser jet 1xxx series etc laser problem, as it seems designed to fail WAY to early – only 4000 pages done with Expected life lke 50 000. Checking bldc motor as it wont spin, capacitor seems ok (the one on pcb with lsaser motor), 24 v present, cant check PWM as simple mulitmeter with only F V DC etc features, maybe some ac/dc capacitors failed?

  • HP printers are worst printer I have ever used. it has lots of issue with its driver, connecting issue, printing issue and most irritating one is ink refill. I have used both inkjet and laserjet I faced lots of issue while reloading ink. I have 1000w the printer has got blocked because the process of reloading ink is cancelled in between and best part is it not recognizing the toner reloader itself. 😅😂 don’t know laugh or cry because after spending hard earned money on printer and especially on ink. What you get in return is lots of headache and time waste. Well done HP 👏👏

  • I had an old HP printer that I used mainly for scanning, so I didn’t have any ink cartridges in it. The bloody software HP provides for controlling their printer is literal MALWARE. It pops up a message randomly saying you need to buy more ink, and you cannot disable it. It does it multiple times every minute and it got to the point that I uninstalled the software and disassembled the printer for parts. HP is so cheap they don’t even use stepper motors. The most valuable components in it are the freewheel device and linear bearings. Everything else is cheap creaky plastic that probably cost $0.20 to produce. HP’s products aren’t even worth SCRAPPING.

  • Why would someone need to reset THE whole printer? Like what specific reason is this recommended for? I have an hp2652 deskjet that just stripped printing blackin right in the middle of me printing important tax papers & still had plenty of ink in it (levels were about half full) had no lights blinking or error messages. I tried cleaning it thru the different options online thru hp site. Just decided to but new cartridges & still only prints color no black. No error messages & still no lights blinking. What am i missing? Help!

  • Hp is the absolute worst. I stopped buying their laptops when I switched to Dell. Now im going to stop purchasing their printers. It seems like every time I want to use the damn thing eventually it says paper tray is open-when its not, not enough paper-when paper tray is full, or it needs attention. such bs

  • First I tried to swab the dry ink from the cartridge with Q-tip and rubbing alcohol, but that didn’t solve my problem. Printer was still missing ink on lines of the document from top of the page to the bottom. After perusal your article I boiled a bit of water, poured a little under 1cm of it into a coffee cup and left the cartridge in there for 4 minutes. Wiped it dry as you describe and put it back into the printer. On the first document the print was perfect! Thank-you.

  • If it’s a dried ink issue, the chance of fixing varies by how long it’s been sitting unused as well as how much ink left inside the cartridge. From my experience If it’s been a year or more and still pretty much full it’s worth trying but you will want to soak it and dab it dry and repeat that multiple times. I’ve had to do over 5 or 6 times before getting decent results and a final soaking one time I even boiled the water. Basically the ink dries from the bottom and works it’s way up the longer it sits unused. So basically what your doing with each soak is getting a layer of ink wet again removing it when dabbing and then you repeat the process to soak that next dry layer of ink. So my opinion if you still can’t fix it after 10 tries max is probably too far gone and better off just replacing that cartridge.

  • I’ve used this method before on other printer cartridges and it worked. Unfortunately with my HP Deskjet that uses #65 cartridges, the black won’t print and the color one prints very faint gray. I bought the printer new a few years ago and after printing a few test pages, never used it again until getting it out yesterday. Ink comes out after soaking and dabbing on paper but still won’t print.
