Fine toothed comb, repeat after 4days, repeat after 8days (repeat in case you miss just one) then comb check at least once a month, as the friend they got them from originally will give them back. I put the live ones I got off my children’s hair AFTER commercial lice shampoo, into rubbing alcohol, and they were still alive the next day. The comb is your friend, best treatment by far.
Another tip you can take original coconut oil heat it up but not boiling hot then take basil leaves and neem leaves almost hand full each cook on low heat switch off the stove once its cool take camphor the tiny ones which hindus use (can get from indian shops none as kafoor) i take one or one and a half of its tablet add in the oil you made.apply the oil and then leave for few hours and you could comb with nit comb this remedy dries out the nits and when you comb after shampooing the nits come out easily from the hair. Maybe it would kill the nits that have grown away from the scalp, though. Schools often recommend the conditioner (EVOO would likely work) and comb method.
No!! this dose not work on the eggs (Nits) kills the head lice maybe but in the next 4 days the eggs will hatch and your back to square one because 4 days after that the Head lice have matured and are laying more eggs……you have to pull each and every egg out of the hair…..and good luck with that because if you miss only one……4 days later back to square once again lol.
Btw head lice prefer clean hair and adults who have good hair hygiene. Also it has been proven that head louse, actually prefer a certain blood type just like mosquitoes. The best way to kill lice is to understand their life span than find out what lice hate. An adult head louse lives without blood for up to the top 36 hours. The nits (lice in it’s infant stage which is an egg) are laid about a half inch away from the scalp. The glue that is placed around the nit at the time of laying them is literally one of the strongest adhesives made by a parasitic bug. Nits stay in the egg and hatch for 7 days. You may have gotten rid of the adults but if you don’t come the nits and treat them within 7 days they’ll be back and starting the process all over again. All it takes is 2 nits to produce 2 adult head lice and then those 2 adults mate and a female can lay up to 15 nits every day and imagine if you have more than 1 female laying eggs or 3 females imagine the horror story with that… It takes 7 seconds for an adult head lice to run from one side of your head to the other. The itchy feeling you get from the bites is due to their saliva. They excrete their saliva into the but to cause a reaction with your blood. I have used tea tree essential oil..but none of the remedies have worked.. I have even tried mayonnaise to suffocate lice…best solution is Permethrin 5% lotion apply on scalp and hair.. leave over night..wash off next day…I got rid in 1 application.. apply using a old toothbrush or hair color brush …very effective..even the eggs were dead..u just need to remove the eggs with a nit comb (nits are the tiny white color eggs that are stuck to the hair shaft… with a glue kind of thing…so they don’t come out easily..u have to remove them using a manually/comb)
People always say “they prefer clean hair” I don’t believe this for a second. When I was at school, the two times lice were brought into the classroom was by the two stinkiest, scruffiest lads in the class. It’s also the same now my child goes to school. The letter from the school never mentioned names, but the kids know because they’re innocents and speak the truth. This time it was an Asian child who is always covered in bite marks from bugs all over his legs, as are his sister and mother. Their uniforms look scruffy and they smell of fried food. Some people would defend them by claiming poverty, well if that’s the case why does the mother always have the latest fashions and money for cigarettes at £10 a packet? It’s just laziness and bad priorities that lead to poor hygiene. As a soldier I could be out in the field for weeks, shave each morn, wash and never stink like they do.
