Great article mate, I’ve been using SketchUp with my van build, teaching myself along the way, but there were some good ‘pro tips’ in here that I hadn’t discovered myself yet either so thumbs up. It really does make things easier when you model it first and cut out half of your mistakes in the design phase. You really need to spend the time to get the initial dimensions correct.
Not sure on how to measure or use tools as was never taught, I am a traffic controller, and a gamer. I am wanting to learn how to do this properly as I have the long wheel based 2011 Mercedes sprinter I am working on. I have the layout in my head etc on how i want it, thou I dont want it to be the conventional build most have mine is and I urge with anticipation that I want to be different. No kitchen, or sink etc thou the idea i wont share publicly thou happy to write in confidence.
