  • Hi Kristen, I love your articles and everything about you! Thank you for this article. We are currently planning a budget friendly makeover of our small first floor guest bathroom/laundry room. We will be painting the walls, and now I am considering painting the floor. It is black granite tile and shows every speck of lint. We also want to wallpaper an accent wall. This article has given a lot of ideas and inspiration-great timing!!!

  • Another good thing about white towels/washcloths/hand towels? You can bleach them or use OxyClean to get them back to pristine white, no matter what happens to them. But the suggestion to use dark colored/black washcloths or hand towels when removing makeup is also brilliant because of the ability to hide stains.

  • I’m just so sick of white everything. I can’t have a normal life if every speck of dust creates me cleaning that area nonstop. I changed to other neutrals and got an air cleaner for my apt. Much better now. I chose grey/black accents with some wood. Looks so much better to me. To each their own this is just me.😊 oh, definitely trying the matching bottles!

  • These are all great ideas but I would love a article where you give tips that involve color. Or maybe a article about how to incorporate bold colors? So many of your articles are essentially telling people to neutralize their entire home and stay away from all color. You tend to use the word “colorful” in a negative connotation; and there are just so many creative ways to make your space beautiful while also being colorful and patterned and not having to make everything white, beige, and/or generally desaturated.

  • I have that terrible 80’s 4×4 salmon pink tile on all my walls in the bathroom, the house was purchased like this 25 years ago. The tile is in perfect condition, but the color !! 🙁 I tried painting it last year, what a mess. Could have been my paint but looking for help if anyone has ever succeeded !

  • I love the look of white towels as a decorative item in my guest bathroom but I always have coloured towels for them and us to use, I just think using white towels all the time you really need to wash them daily to keep them looking nice and white looking in your bathroom, it’s just not a practical colour to use every day when showering, I keep a a basket of white towels in my guest bathroom with some blue hydrangeas in amongst the white to give a pop of colour and then I have pretty blue towels for guests to actually use.. I love the idea of a runner in the bathroom, I might have to look for something like that and not just a long bath mat, something with a bit of colour to it, my main guest bathroom is grey toned with tiles that go right to the ceiling, the only paint in there is the ceiling and it’s white and I have shutters on the window. Love your decor ideas, but I wish influencers wouldn’t say that Thred Up is the worlds biggest second hand online store, it might be in the USA 🇺🇸 but they’re not world wide…they don’t ship to Australia unfortunately..❤️❤️

  • Wow!!!! Thank you Kristen!!! Why have I never thought to put a large rug in my bathroom?!?! I have a fairly large bathroom and I never wanted to put bath mat rugs because I think they look tacky, but I never thought to put a rug in the bathroom in the same way I would another room. I can’t wait to go shopping and see how it level ups the bathroom!!!! Thanks so much! I always get tips from you that I don’t get on other websites. Love ya!❤
