  • As more of a graphic designer than a GD creator myself I thought explaining a few more general graphic design principles might help as they also apply to a lot of modern-styled levels. The 3 major points u should be aware of when creating anything modern-styled are Contrast, Simplicity, and Consistency. Contrast is often used to make things interesting or exciting and is extremely important in order to shift the focus on specific objects or details. It adds variety to the design and makes the different parts of a design piece distinguishable. Two parts in the level that I feel show this principle very effectively are the part at 6:20 where the block design has both dark and light parts that contrast with each other really well and make the darker parts stand out. The yellow outlines stand out as well because they are on top of the darker parts making those stand out even more. The whole focus is shifted onto the scale-changing Blocks which are the most important part of the whole part. The other part that showcases how effective contrast can be is Xender game’s part. The blue and yellow accents are only used for a few details which makes them stand out a lot and work as they highly contrast the rest of the purple-pinkish designs of the part. The whole part manages to contrast lighter and darker designs and colors really well and the whole part feels colorful and interesting because of that. The Robot part right after Xender’s part on the other hand lacks those color variations and contrasts and feels uninteresting and bland because of that.

  • Boy oh boy where do I even begin. Zero.. honey, my pookie bear. I have loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you. The way you drive into the paint and strike fear into your enemies eyes. Your silky smooth touch around the rim, and that gorgeous jumpshot. I would do anything for you. I wish it were possible to freeze time so I would never have to watch you retire. You had a rough childhood, but you never gave up hope. You are even amazing off the editor, you’re a great husband and father, sometimes I even call you dad. I forever dread and weep, thinking of the day you will one day retire. I would sacrifice my own life it were the only thing that could puta smile on your beautiful face. You have given me so much joy over the years. A tear fell from my right eye when I watched you earn your first creator point, because deep down, my glorious king deserved it. I just wanted you to return home. Then allas, you did, my sweet baby boy came home and I rejoiced. 2017 was a hard year for us baby, but in 2018 you made history happen. You came back from 3-1 and I couldn’t believe it. I was crying, bawling even, and I heard my glorious king exclaim these words, “CREATORS, THIS IS FOR YOU!” Not only have you changed the game of Geometry Dash and the world forever, but you’ve eternally changed my world. And now you’re getting older, but still the goat, my goat. I love you pookie bear, my glorious king, ZeroSR.
