How To Attach A Wired Outdoor Light?

This video tutorial demonstrates how to turn any hardwired light fixture into a plug-in using less than $20 supplies. To do this, turn off the electricity to the area where you’ll be working and run an underground electrical line into the garden to power an outdoor light. There are many outdoor lighting options available, from smart security lighting to trendy wall lighting.

To wire an extension cord to a light, cut the cord to the desired length, strip the insulation from the wires, connect the wires to the light fixture, and secure the connection. There are two ways to connect wires in the wall or ceiling to the wires in your new fixture: wrapping wires around screws to make a connection.

In this step-by-step DIY guide, you will replace an existing fixture with a Eufy integrated one. Connect the cable cores to the correct terminals within the unit or to its flex cores using strip connectors. Fix the light to your wall and unscrew the mounting bracket. Disconnect the wires and remember which colors go where. Take off the old light and choose a box that can handle the new fixture.

Mark the route that you’ll run your electric cable along and identify the spots in your yard where you want your light fixtures to be located. Run cable inside the wall to the switch box and install the new fixture on the outside wall. Make sure your cord is not plugged in and assess your wires.

Tools required include a 4-in-1 screwdriver, adjustable wrench, circular saw, jigsaw, non-contact voltage tester, posthole digger, sledgehammer, and spade.
