In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can now customize their villagers’ homes by speaking to Isabelle and selecting the “how their home looks” option. This feature is part of the Happy Home Paradise DLC, which allows players to change the interior of their villagers. To unlock this feature, players must finish 30 Happy Home Paradise vacation home designs, which is considered “finishing the game”.
Some houses have a single fixed item that cannot be changed, such as a floor-based music player or an item with a mirror. To remodel a villagers’ homes, players can apply design skills learned from Paradise Planning to improving their island. If they have Happy Home Paradise, they can talk to Tom Nook at Resident Services and select “Let’s talk homes” and then “A resident’s home”.
To toggle the presence of a villager, players can press down on the left control stick. The “Order” tab has become the “Base Design” tab, which includes any furniture that can be given to the villager but cannot make major changes. Players can also keep their original interior and only change or add one piece of furniture to prevent them from altering things since the default design associated with the character is preserved.
In summary, the Happy Home Paradise DLC in Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to customize their villagers’ homes and restore the correct houses for starter characters.
