We’re in the process of a home build and we were going to go with vinyl because it was cheapest and paint it the color we wanted (sherwin Williams iron ore) vs hardie and LP smart side. Like to know is vinyl going to peel in about 5 years or less cause paint not soaking into vinyl . Back in the day clad boards one time smooth side was out paint peel easy . Then builder turn rough side out paint really lasted lot longer . Vinyl is final with paint peels . 1 of reason came out with vinyl . I did lot spraying back in my days . So since covid I can only get vinyl in two colors; white and chocolate milk brown. I don’t want all white, but I don’t want my house looking like 💩.
