How Can An External Hemorrhoid Appear?

External hemorrhoids are painful lumps that occur under the skin around the anus and are located beneath the skin surrounding the anus. They are similar to varicose veins and can cause extreme itching, discomfort, and pain. There are four types of hemorrhoids: internal, external, prolapsed, and thrombosed.

External hemorrhoids are located underneath the skin surrounding the anus and are lower than internal hemorrhoids. Prolapsed hemorrhoids occur when an internal hemorrhoid stretches, while external hemorrhoids are swollen veins in the anus and lower rectum. Symptoms include extreme itching, uncomfortable lumps or swelling near the anus, aches or pain around the anus, and thrombosed hemorrhoids, which can be external or internal and occur when a blood clot forms inside a hemorrhoid.

External hemorrhoids may appear as soft lumps or bumps, hard, red lumps protruding from the outside of the anal area, or mucus-covered bumps. Home remedies include warm baths, but they can also cause bleeding and itching.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids appear as a lump at the anal verge, protruding from the anus and dark bluish due to the blood clot. Hemorrhoids are often more complicated than internal hemorrhoids, as they are not always visible and may appear as small lumps inside or outside the anus.

In summary, external hemorrhoids are painful lumps that can be painful and can be caused by various factors, including internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, and thrombosed hemorrhoids. Understanding the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for these conditions is crucial for managing and managing these painful conditions.

📹 Thrombosed External Hemorrhoid – 3D Medical Animation

This 3D animation explains how hemorrhoids (piles) are swollen veins in the lower rectum and anus. They’re a lot like varicose …

What do outside hemorrhoids look like?

External hemorrhoids, or piles, are small lumps outside the anus that can cause bleeding and itching. They often result from straining during bowel movements, such as pushing too hard, sitting for too long, or having a hard stool. While most hemorrhoids don’t cause additional issues, they can become more painful if they develop a clot called a thrombus. If severe pain persists, a doctor may recommend surgical removal. Home remedies include warm baths, cool compresses, and topical applications like witch hazel.

Do external hemorrhoids go away?

Hemorrhoids are swollen, enlarged veins that form inside and outside the anus and rectum, causing pain, discomfort, and rectal bleeding. They are also known as piles. They are common in an estimated 1 in 20 Americans, affecting people of all ages, sexes, races, and ethnicities. They are more common as you age, affecting more than half of people over age 50. Anyone can get symptomatic hemorrhoids, even teenagers, but they are uncommon in children due to their slow development. To ease symptoms, apply over-the-counter medications like lidocaine, witch hazel, or hydrocortisone to the affected area.

How do you treat external hemorrhoids?

Consuming high-fiber foods can soften stool and increase its bulk, preventing straining and gas problems. Slowly adding fiber to your diet can also help. Topical treatments like hydrocortisone creams, suppositories, witch hazel pads, or numbing medicines can help relieve hemorrhoids. Soak your anal area in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes daily, or use a sitz bath over the toilet. Temporary pain relievers like acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen can also help relieve discomfort.

Hemorrhoids typically disappear within a week with these treatments. If no relief is found, consult your healthcare provider. If mild discomfort persists, consider using creams, ointments, suppositories, or pads containing witch hazel, hydrocortisone, and lidocaine to temporarily relieve pain and itching.

What is commonly mistaken for hemorrhoids?

What is commonly mistaken for hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are often mistaken for serious issues such as abnormal blood vessels in the colon, anal fissures, colon polyps, or colorectal cancer. Symptoms of hemorrhoids include bright red blood in the toilet paper, which can be a shock to the body. Hemorrhoids develop when small veins supplying the anus and rectum become weak and enlarge and bulge over time. These veins can cause symptoms like rectal bleeding, soreness, and itching if agitated.

About 75% of adults will have symptomatic hemorrhoids to some degree in their lifetime, but only one-third will need medical attention to treat the problem. Hemorrhoids are similar to symptoms of other serious conditions and can even endanger life. It is crucial to know when to seek medical help to avoid complications and ensure a healthy lifestyle.

How do I know if my external hemorrhoid is bad?

How do I know if my external hemorrhoid is bad?

Hemorrhoids can cause persistent discomfort, pain, or itching for a week, and if symptoms persist, it’s crucial to consult a doctor. Some symptoms resolve on their own, while others require medical treatment. Doctors can recommend treatments ranging from dietary changes, in-office procedures, and more invasive surgeries. Home remedies may provide temporary relief, but they don’t necessarily cure the issue. Seeking medical care is essential, especially if symptoms worsen.

Doctors can help reduce the chances of another flare-up by discussing diet, hydration, and bathroom habits. If a bulge is noticed, it may indicate a prolapsed hemorrhoid, which can fall outside the anus if it becomes severely inflamed. Early treatment from a doctor is essential if the hemorrhoid can’t be pushed back in or causes pain or bleeding.

What the longest an external hemorrhoid can last?

Approximately 50% of the population will experience hemorrhoids by the age of 50, and the majority of individuals will find relief within a few days. In the event of persistent pain exceeding one week, it is advisable to seek the counsel of a qualified medical professional. There is no definitive timeframe for the duration of hemorrhoids.

Is there a natural way to get rid of external hemorrhoids?

Home treatments for hemorrhoids include the use of warm baths, ice packs, over-the-counter medications, and lifestyle modifications such as increased fluid intake and the consumption of fiber-rich foods. In the event of rectal bleeding, even if suspected, it is imperative to seek medical attention in order to ascertain whether other causes may be responsible.

Will an external hemorrhoid fix itself?

Hemorrhoids have no set duration, with small ones clearing up within a few days and large ones taking longer to heal. Severe or recurrent hemorrhoids are more likely to occur due to risk factors such as not getting enough fiber, living a sedentary lifestyle, chronic constipation, chronic diarrhea, and straining during bowel movements. Seeking healthcare professional for treatment is recommended.

What happens if you ignore external hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids can cause various issues, including thrombosed hemorrhoids, which can cause severe pain and swelling, and anal fissures, which can cause additional discomfort and bleeding during bowel movements. Chronic irritation and trauma from untreated hemorrhoids can also lead to these fissures. Prolapsed hemorrhoids, which extend outside the anal opening, can cause significant pain and discomfort and may require more invasive treatments.

What not to do with external hemorrhoids?

Avoid wiping hemorrhoids for relief as they can cause irritation and itching. Avoid picking at external hemorrhoids as a clot can cause a lump near the anus and further bleeding. Avoid a sedentary lifestyle, especially if overweight, as it puts more pressure on blood vessels around the anal area. Additionally, avoid lifting heavy objects, as it can put extra pressure on clots in external hemorrhoids. These precautions help prevent further bleeding or severe pain in hemorrhoids.

What happens if you leave an external hemorrhoid untreated?

What happens if you leave an external hemorrhoid untreated?

Hemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels in the anal opening, causing symptoms like clots, bleeding, itching, and burning. They are not serious conditions on their own but if left untreated, they can lead to infection and blood loss. Untreated hemorrhoids usually dissipate on their own, but it can take several days for them to heal without treatment. Some swollen blood vessels may require removal for proper healing without infection. It is crucial to inform your doctor if you have hemorrhoids, as they can recommend over-the-counter treatments and advise when to return if they don’t resolve within a specific time frame.

  • I have had a hemorrhoidectomy surgery few days ago. First surgery I’ve ever had in my entire life. I made a right decision because I have been suffering with it for the longest now. It was prolapsed that gotten worse after a normal delivery. It took me three years to decide and get it done because I was scared to go under. But it was the best decision. I have a good surgeon and I prepared myself for the pain. I requested exparel shots that can numb the surgical site for 5 days. It was a great choice. I’ve also was prescribed oxycodone which I have not been using coz im afraid of the severe constipation. I have been taking Tylenol and ibuprofen round the clock every 6 hours. The pain is manageable for me but the first poop after the surgery sting so bad but was able to manage the pain because of the exparel shots given after surgery. I’m slowly healing, this is only my 4th day and it’s getting better everyday. I did not regret getting it done. I cannot wait to get back on track after this journey. To anyone who’s had this experience like me. You got this.

  • Got one that flared up a few days ago… using Anusol, doesn’t seem to be doing anything, the topical ointment temporarily relieves the itching but after an hour or so the itching comes back with a vengeance that spreads out further away from the hemorrhoid… might be allergic? Will be seeing my GP come Monday, it’s rather debilitating with the intensity of the itching while at work… 🙁

  • Hmmm i have one after i ate a whole family bag of takis it formed.. and im sure the stuck poop caused it from pushing too hard. Doesnt rlly hurt though just annoying because you constantly feel it rubbing around down there realesing gas feels weird and i dont know what to do..? When i stand i feel alrigbt but laying and sitting is the problem.. any experts is it mild case will it go away on its own or should i contact my doctor im in america though our medical is terrible.

  • I’m in so much pain, it hurts just to walk or sit ! It’s such an embarrassing feeling. I have had it for almost a week and a half and scared it’s something more serious 😮 I’ve had one before but went away pretty quickly . Can someone please help me? What meds are best, I’ve just been using the hem wipes

  • I am going through this right now. I went to the doctor last week. He gave me the topical med (cream), + pills and and suppositories to make my stool softer. Well the suppositories are useless since my poop is way too soft (mushy even), the cream isn’t relieving any pain or itch, I highly doubt the pills do anything either. There is one thing that eases my pain, and one thing only.. ICE ! Pack an ice cube in like a plastic bag to avoid melting water and press that against the painful areas. I’ve done that like 3 times a day and it going much better. I hardly feel an itch now. Ice ice and ice!!! Speaking from experience.

  • Mai jab २१ag ki thi tabse muze bliding wali piles problem shuru ho gyi uthna baithna bhi mera mushkil ho gya tha es piles ki wajah se maine meri friend ko bataya to usne muze Amazon se pymol+livcon capsule and manulax chrurna oder krke diya muze १५din me hi aaram mila our maine ३months ka cours pora kiya to ab meri piles ki broblem thik ho gyi,, •••

  • I can still cook some things which gives me joy and I was trying to focus on some other aspect of my life when I noticed the indigestion, and the painful excretion started. During this period I got to meet Dr Iyhere on youtube and he gave me herbs that relieved me In no time. Thank you so much Doctor. This is Sia from UK.

  • MY experience: 1. banded removal is basically painless and effective . 2. Use your stomach muscles (pull in your stomach) and change angles til you sense bowel movement, rather than “push”. This takes weeks of listening to your body ( and strengthening your stomach muscles) while not pushing, to develop. You will have to push, but only mildly, and less so the more you develop the technique. Self taught and self created, so take it for what it’s worth.

  • I’ve had them since I was pregnant in 1995! Unless you have surgery, they never completely go away. It helps to stay hydrated, use witch hazel and have a sitz bath routine. The reason I never had them surgically removed is because my husband had his removed and he had a very painful recovery. That surgery left unwanted side effects, like having to stay near a bathroom.

  • I had Hemorrhoids late July and my doctor just prescribed me those tablets that can help combat varicose veins and then I also did some lifestyle changes (e.g., consuming more fibre-rich foods, increasing my liquid intake, and fixing my sleeping schedule), and after about 2-3 weeks, it went back inside. The pain is excruciatingly painful, but just consult your doctor and make some life changes. Get well soon to whoever is reading this. ❤

  • I noted the remark about placebo effect from some creams. That may be true. But, I had my first flare up of external hemorrhoids about 10 days ago (at 68 yo) and decided to manage them on my own. I shifted from sit commode to squat commode since this posture helps faster bowel movement (no constipation in my case, no bleeding). I started a bran cereal (which I used to have regularly until no supply recently (I live in Dhaka Bangladesh where supply chain has been hampered by the war in Ukraine and the fluctuating dollar exchange rate.) I applied hydrocortisone 1% ointment at night and Vaseline with Aloe Vera in the morning). I increased my water intake and started more fruits (oranges, apples). I applied ice pack to the anal area (10-15 minutes) since warm water sitz bath did not have positive effect. Within a few days the rhoids shrank and dried leaving skin tags. These dried up enough to fall off when cleaning with baby wipes and when showering. Having resolved this episode I can’t agree more with the doctor here. Like the saying goes: An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Thanks, Dr., for your informative and helpful articles.

  • Not sure if someone has this similar experience but ima share anyways just in case. 26 yr old male on the overweight side but still active (i hoop a lot). Had a bump not in or around but down the line of my anus from sitting on the toilet and straining too much. It eventually exploded and I was spot bleeding for weeks. Used prep H wipes, ointment, and eventually bleeding stopped. Switched up my diet too to more fiber and that helped the process go along smooth too. Longest 3-4 weeks of my life but I’m saying this for someone who needs to hear it…. EAT HEALTHIER AND STOP SITTING AND STRAINING ON THE TOILET FOR SO LONG TRUST ME 😂😂 hope this helps!

  • I had my first flair in 2002, I worked out and ate spicy Thai food and the next day boom, External Hemorrhoid and wow was it painful, I got it lanced, then I had another flair in 2005, and I got it lanced, but the Emergency room doc didn’t get the whole clot so another doctor got all of it. I didn’t have enough fiber and I was riding my bike. I just recently had another flair, I turned in my chair and instantly felt it, so I started with Preparation H, Sittz bath with Witch Hazel, this flair up wasn’t painful so I didn’t bother going to the doctor, but I have two, they are slowly but surely shrinking, but I was so tempted to have them lanced. Even after changing my diet and making sure I get fiber it still happened. But my VA Doc told me in 2002, that once you get one, they will always be around, at 26 I didn’t even think of such a thing, but at 49 I get it. But it sucks, I can’t stand having them, they take a lot of care for sure, just irritates me that they are around lol @Your Friendly Proctologist

  • I got them 3rd trimester. And have them worse now 3 weeks postpartum. I had had them in my past pregnancies 10 years ago but I don’t remember them hurting like this and then they completely went “away”. I’m reading about these ablations and things (the ones causing my trouble are external) Is this something I should get done because I would get done? Because I’d get it done today if I could. Also, I can’t live well without a certain bedroom activity and I’m wondering if it’s OK to go ahead? I did in the third trimester, but tho they looked like this they didn’t hurt much. I’m wondering if that activity might actually help the blood to not be all clotted up in there?

  • Been dealing with external and internal for 6 months now, there was a point where it was so bad I couldn’t sleep and stand. I’m now feeling so much better and it does not flare up anymore if you look after it. Just a tips to those who were is my spot, is to take fibre supplement (metamucil), can either take their recommended daily dose or 1 dose (1 tablespoon) like me daily, it really makes everything go smooth. Also if you incorporate vegetables (high in fibre, vitamin C, antioxidant etc..) it actually helps prevent these flare up by strengthen the blood vessels that are prone to swell.

  • I dont understand, om bodybuilding naturally, always good diet, much walking, much water, and im 23 and i got my first exterior yesterday 1,5 cm big maybe, when im in my best Shape ever. Sure the only thing is that i sit on the toilet very long, is that why then? Have had interior once, but then i just bleed A little for 3 days, now i dont bleed but it hurts, i cant walk as i should, it hurts when i sit?

  • Yes, you’re right, it’s like skin that has stretched on a fat person, same thing, not hard to figure that one out. I’ve had them for over 35 years, only cute is to cut them out surgically no bands or treatment or cream is going to bring the skin back to its normal state. Never, ever. I got a doctor that want to put bands on mine. What’s the point, when they just come back but worse. Best way is what this doctor says. Cut them out for good. You think they’ll go away but if the skin is stretched they never ever will. I wished they did, but they won’t. I get so stressed and annoyed, I go ballistic when they’re bad. So somehow I’ve got to find a decent doctor to get them cut out. So irritating and a pain in ye butt. Thanks for bringing real wisdom to the people. Other doctors on here say they’ll cute them and have these fake comments. Seriously, they’re not going to go away by what you eat and treat them with. If they’re huge and external they’re worth getting rid of forever.

  • Hey I have loved perusal your articles on hemorrhoid treatment and suggestions. With that said I have listened very intently to your descriptions because I had developed a hemorrhoid years and I will tell you why. Years ago I had injured my lower spin herniating a disk which compressed my sciatic nerves and the pain is relentless and never ending. Because of that i take pain pills and sometimes muscle relaxers but not the muscle relaxers so much unless I start getting cramping. In one of your articles you explained how blood could fill up the external hemorrhoids and because there is so much pain that the sphincter tightens up and does no allow the blood to escape. I thought about that all day, which is today the 28th of Aug. and it all of a sudden dawned on me that you were giving suggestions on how to get the sphincter to loosen up such as creams and sitz baths that I have some very strong muscle relaxers on hand so guess what??? Yup I started taken my muscle relaxers and within 12 hours that giant painful hemorrhoid has decreased by a little more than half in size and the pain is almost gone. I believe that muscle relaxer helped relax that sphincter allowing the blood to escape. Maybe next time you could write a script to a patient with a huge painful external hemorrhoid along with preparation H or what ever cream you suggest and see what happens before operating. I know this will work and the only downside that I can see is the money that doctors will loose out on from operating.

  • More great advice article. Take care of what’s going on back there because successive hemorrhoids will probably get bigger and worse. I didn’t know this. For me the sitz bath was the shit. 👍 Fresh as a daisy twice a day. 🤣🤣 Keep your stool soft. The biggest thing in my opinion is, let your bowel movements come naturally as in DON’T PUSH! Let it happen naturally. If it doesn’t happen naturally within a two minutes while you’re sitting there on the pot then get up and do something else and come back to it when that natural feeling to go happens again. This is what I do. I can’t speak for a pregnant female, I’m male. Prego female bowel movements could be a completely different ballgame. Just sayin.

  • I got pain while taking a bowel movement. I got discomfort but a little pain whatsoever. After a few hours, I went to take a bath and afterwards I got chills and a fever. I checked my anus and saw it red. I put anusol ointment right away and it kinda relieved the discomfort after a few minutes. Is it just inflamed or is it an infection? What should I do? I’m scared

  • Sitting here in Panama and have nothing else to do than perusal this hemorrhoid article. 😂 I do have a “nice behaving ” external hemorrhoid, that I got as a “present” from my gallbladder surgery. I woke up and actually thought that the doctor forgot something in my bed like a tool or something. (That’s when you are still kinda Knocked -out from the drugs.) But that was my first thought. I’m laying on something what was hurting by backside.😅 So I called for the nurse who checked first the mattress and bed. Nothing. Then she asked me to roll over to the side. “Ohhh wow. You got a hemorrhoid as big as a big marble. I bring you something.” So I got one of this ring billows and a ice bag. 2 years later, I was at my family doctor. Prostate check. “Mhmmm. What is that? You have there a kinda skin tag…” Ohhh yes. It’s a souvenir from the hospital 2 years ago….. It only gets “big” when I catch a real cold with high fever. That’s when I am getting a reminder: Hey, boss. I’m still here! 😂

  • I had surgery 20 years ago; now they are back, but smaller. I had a colonoscopy, and they seemed to come after that. I am using Metamucil, a hemorrhoid cream; but mostly I have changed my diet. It is a pretty drastic change, as I used to like coffee/red meat/alcohol/eggs/cheese/pizza/spicy foods and didn’t drink much water. However, I feel better; and it is doable.

  • I want to tell people, the most important thing I’ve learned, the most effective treatment is getting off the toilet in 2 minutes. I have had hems for years. They were so big I scheduled surgery to get rid of them. They were extremely painful, thrombosed, and bleeding frequently. I was home from work for a week because of the pain so I decided to just try standing up after 2 minutes. Although I didn’t feel like I was done going at first, it turned out fine. Nothing prolapsed. I have had no pain or bleeding since I started doing this. I think part of the reason I feel like I’m not done is because the hemorrhoids are being detected by my body as a foreign object that it is trying to push out. Please try doing this before you schedule surgery. I feel so stupid for not doing this sooner. My doctor told me to do this and I didn’t want to try for some reason. Fiber doesn’t matter that much. Squatty potty doesn’t matter that much. Trust me, because if you get the surgery and you keep spending too long on the toilet, it’s just going to happen again. So you may as well start now and see how it goes.

  • Hi doctor . Thanks for the article . May I ask : can anoscopy/ proctoscopy if not in a gentle way can cause blood vessels around anus to burst/ ruptured which may lead to hematoma even a small lump to appear . ? – Is this kind probability of developing thrombosed or hematoma very high for a anoscope inspection ? (Still can feel pain since last scope inspection 1 month ago) — Will the lump subside after some time ? Your advice is much appreciated thanks.

  • Two things that have helped me are collinsonia (stone root) and eating two whole stir fried onions every night before bed. The onions contain tryptophan, which can make you tired at first. After a while you get used to it. I had unbearable pain. If i go more than about two or three days without my onions, i start to have pain. Every day i eat my onions, zero issues. I did stop taking collinsonia just because it’s about 20 bucks a month and it doesn’t work as good as fresh onion. If you used both it might clear it up. I’m not sure. Haven’t had the issue very long. That and lots of kale in the blender. lots and lots of kale.

  • Doctor. I’ve had an external one for over 1 year now, & finally went to see my doctor 3 weeks ago. my doctor gave me creams that did nothing. My doctor referred me to a surgeon to remove it (where i live health care & these surgeries are free if you have a job). My surgeon prescribed me Daflon 500mg tablets two weeks ago & said that if it didnt work then we would go ahead with the surgery. My hemorrhoid has been shrinking every day (i take 2 pills twice a day). I’m so shocked. It has shrunk by 60% in 2 weeks. Something i never thought would happen. I’m hoping that it will completely shrink in the next two weeks. it really works!

  • I was recently in hospital for renal failure due to a stuck kidney stone and whilst in A&E they gave me a suppository pain killer as it was the fastest acting . Later the evening I noticed my bottom getting sore and by the morning going into surgery for a stent I was in more pain in butt than my kidney. I then woke up with an absolutely furious bleeding external haemorrhoid. The nurse checked and said the suppository hadn’t fully dissolved and now I am at war with my butt. There can’t be many people go in for renal failure and come out with a bubble on their butt. Listening to your vlogg it sounds like I am stuck with it, so my question is do I name it? Suggestions please, I need a laugh.

  • I went to two different colon rectal doctors because of burn of outside of my anus and one said didn’t see anything and the other said hemorrhoid and anal fissure … I went for Botox first and didn’t do anything and then I went for spincterotomy it’s still didn’t do anything.. I feel the same burning and can’t seat and don’t know what my next step should be to relieve my discomfort

  • I think mine might actually go away, It has shrunk more than halfway down and its along with my skin renewing. All my wrinkles are going away and my lose skin is tightening up like I’m age reversing. Hemorrhoids are age related right? I’m reversing going on 50. There’s people who age fast or slow but I’ve never heard of anyone reversing, How about freckles fading or decades old scars fading away smooth?

  • I had an external hemhorroid (but didn’t know it was external) and I was in massive pain but i kept working and riding my bike and lifting….. it turned into a grape… and burst open. It’s healing but I don’t want this to be a thing…. i dont think I had them before at 54yo. I started an all meat diet 2 months ago but my stools are super thin and soft all the time. The only thing I can think of is that i’ve been doing a lot of lifting and my back went out, and I kept straining to lift anyways to finish the job.

  • I had them like 5 years ago after using some creams all where banished but last week I had another one with loads of pain. I’m using the cream again today it’s getting much better I’m starting a new job tomorrow I hope the dum thing behaves. They normally heal within 1 week. The Chinese cream I use was very helpful you feel it’s burning shrinking effects when applied. No pain in trying it out

  • I think i have one but i’m not sure. it looks similar to every photo out there but it doesn’t hurt at all and is been there for a long time too but is the same color as my skin color, i try using hemorrhoids cream but it didn’t shrink, same thing with “home made remedies ” such as vinegar and warm water, everytime i go to the bathroom it gets bigger then go back to “normal” size after a couple of days, I don’t know what to do and I’m kinda of scared of going to a doctor, is such a private and vulnerable spot but is so unpleasant to look at and I’m ashamed of it. Someone help, what should i do?😭

  • I really wish I knew this info sooner or that you gave OTC options that can help or something. I’m a gay male with IBS and I’ve always been really insecure about my booty area as I do get painful hemorrhoids on occasion and I don’t think my area is visually appealing as a result. It kinda ruins my sexual encounters cause I don’t want others to think it’s gross. I always assumed hemorrhoids were just an uncomfortable thing that flared up but then when it stopped hurting went away. Now I’m worried my booty hole is going to be forever unappealing and I’ll never be comfortable with others exploring that area of my body again lol fk

  • So what are the options if they don’t go away? I drive a truck every day for a living and have had banding for the internal ones and that seems to have solved that but external are still there. Besides warm water and hydrocortisone cream I don’t know what else to do. I was given the option of seeing a surgeon by my gastroenterologyst but I don’t know if I want to go down that road. They are uncomfortable though and I would like my life back.

  • Hello doctor am from Nigeria and am suffering hemorrhoids very much unbearable pain always it’s swelling and bleeding, when i defecate it comes out big i have to use finger and push it in forcefully, how can i locate you for the surgery?, Coz i want it out completely to feel good like everybody thanks.

  • Can you please train all these other doctors??? I have had problems with mine for awhile…mine has never gone away ..they are there constantly. I go to the doc and he checked to see if I have cancer and that was it . I turned to a natural treatment and hoping it gets better …they don’t hurt as much now … and less bleeding.

  • Hello doctor I had anal sex recently he used a CD tho but not with a lubricant.he used this baby pearl oil.i didn’t feel pain during sex n after until two days later when I started feeling pains.cant seat can’t stand properly n something came outta my anus I struggle to use the loo.its so painful 😩🤦🏾‍♀️it’s like I’m dying.i don’t know what to do please help me.this thing makes me bleed sometimes n I noticed I now have injuries like burns around my anus sides. Pleas help me I pray you see this pleas help me I’m dying

  • Hi doctor. May I ask that some of my friends say that they use Sudocrem antiseptic healing cream to apply on the haemorrhoid as they said that it can help them to relieve swelling & inflammation of piles discomfort… – Is it true that such cream can be used on external piles tissues and are they safe ? – Will u recommend that Proctosedyl to be used as a cream for piles issue & how long they can be used? Appreciated your advice thanks.

  • Ive gotten tiny ones before that didnt bother me and i only noticed when washing. But since last night… I’ve never known such pain. Im only 28. I dont know what to do. I have 2 that are large grape sized. Im so glad im off from work anyway or i dont know what i would have done. Is this normal for hemorrhoids though? Like will it go down on its own? Should i be going to the emergenxy room? I told my mom (shes a doctor) about it but she was kind of dismissive and said i must just lie down with an ice pack for a while

  • Hi doctor. May I ask : is taking Lactulose as stool softener everyday permanently a good way to ensure smooth bowel motion as preventative measures against flare up of external haemorrhoids? – Understanding that lactulose also contain prebiotic content to balance gut flora, is it right ? Appreciate your reply, thanks a lot .
