Do The Usda And The Interior Regulate Parks And Ski Areas?

The National Forest System (NFS) in the United States has 122 ski areas, providing about 60% of the total capacity for downhill skiing. These areas have long served as gateways to introduce visitors to other activities, with the Forest Service gaining the authority to grant permits for ski resorts through the 1986 National Forest Ski Area Permit Act. Ski areas vary in size and design, but the agency-resort collaboration model has persisted over time. Most of the 122 ski areas operating on NFS lands are authorized under a special use permit issued per the Ski Area.

The 2011 Act expanded the uses ski areas can offer to guests, allowing winter sports only, such as skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and cross-country. The Interior Department and USDA Forest Service have planned 63 LRF deferred maintenance bundled projects to improve recreation. The USFS manages about 25 federal lands and is the sole major national land management agency not part of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Three mountain resorts on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests pay a use fee based on their income derived from use of public lands. The USFS has provided outdoor recreation and tourism opportunities since its inception in 1905, and most of the facilities have been maintained by the agency. A field investigation of the current transportation infrastructure and issues at Mt. Baker-Snowqualmie National Forest and Mt. Rainier National Park by the USFS revealed several issues.

  • I understand that the majority of people prefer normal sized homes that are not expensive for a number of reasons they collectively agree on but comparing and contrasting this to other incredibly expensive massive unrealistic houses in the internet, this home seems to be one of the ones that are interior decorated properly, more realistic than others, attractive, and altogether in my opinion if the better and more unique homes we see on the internet.

  • this is one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen; the interior is so pleasantly designed while still maintaining a comfortable coziness to it and the features are so thoughtfully designed for anyone who would appreciate it. If I had money idk off I would purchase this home because of the location but I would definitely rent it out for an epic family and friends trip

  • This house is on a whole nother level. First of the location and then the whole design of it. I love the sky light concept where there’s a stream of running water on the sky light. The abstract effect it will have when it shines on the interior of the house is so peaceful. It’s such an amazing idea. The entire design does some really good justice to the location. And it’s views. The Architect has really tried to blend in the outside atmosphere with the coziness in a subtle way, it’s Amazing! 👏🏼 ❄️💯❤️

  • This is my dream house. I LOVE the winter especially snow so seeing something like this…just WOW. I GASPED when I saw the intro to the place and was in AWE throughout the rest of it. I was surprised that there was only one bowling lane though. I expected the movie theatre area to be a bit more grand. If I lived in a place like that though, I’d never complain. It’s like the guy said in the beginning, you’d never leave lol. The owner did a fantastic job on the place though! Prime location too. I wonder who will be the lucky buyer

  • Owner designed custom crystal chandelier’s, look like Chiuly’s work. This palace is Best for James Bond’s next film. A piece of Art for sure, but overwhelming to me. 75 million could be used in so many other ways to help people kids etc…but appreciate the Artist’s Way here, as an Artist myself. Pretty Spectacular.

  • I visited the rockies last week. Decided to make a day trip to Aspen to hike and explore. Tried hiking the Ute trail but snow was deep so i veered off to the ajax trail connecting near the trailhead. It was directly behind a neighborhood of enormous homes. Short trail ending at the slopes. Saw a house that looked similar that caught my eye. Odd this vid is recommended less than a week after.

  • 0:50 Why is he using “3.5 blocks” like a block was an actual measurement of distance? To the best of my knowledge, there’s no formal definition of a block, thus the given distance actually has no meaning, because it’s not like there are city blocks nearby that it could be compared to. Am I missing something?

  • I wouldn’t complain if someone gave me this home for free, but I’d probably sell it and buy something smaller and cozier. 20,000 square feet is a waste. This is more for a family with like 20 kids or something. Imagine only 2 people living in this giant place. It’s a total waste, unless you both hate each other. LOL

  • I spent one hotel night in Aspen a few years ago during a road trip. We spent $ 176, which is more then we have ever spent before, it was the cheapest room I could find! I felt posh and rich 😎 Having the kind of money to own a house like that is insane. Aspen was amazing and a black bear crossed our path on our walk back to the hotel, in the middle of the town 😮🐻

  • It is a beautiful house and the many custom pieces/aspects make it quite unique. The garage with the rotating feature is brilliant. This house would be ideal if it also included household staff quarters. By the size of it and with the many moving parts, this requires at least two permanent live in crew in order to maintain its beauty, cleanliness, stocking the fridge, making the meals, etc. The features of this house feel like it will need just the right buyer who wants alll the high end customizations and the specific amenities it offers. The primary selling point of this house to me is the location. Overall, the design of this feels quite commercial (cold), not residential.

  • The developers who built this house took a massive “break the rules & apologize later” approach – they expanded the house way beyond what was originally approved. They basically applied for single changes across multiple departments and the departments were not aware of all the overall changes…so they got away with building the home on a technicality. Whoever moves into this house will likely have to deal with upset neighbors within the development, because this house infringed into common-use land and was generally controversial in the community.

  • This is the example of when someone overshoots just a bit. So much of this is incredible- but sometimes having every possible thing on hand is actually not going to be the design that both looks or works the best. Also- the bubble up sink is cool- but if I want a glass of water- then I have to leave the bedroom to get one or fill it in the shower… that’s the kind of thing I am talking about. You get so deep in this stuff and make something and think you have covered everything and also nail the aesthetics- but miss something very simple

  • Being from Colorado and endlessly seeing monstrosities that are in this market just being on the market for nearly they’re entire existence in places like Vail, Aspen, Telluride, etc. etc. This is actually done pretty tastefully and I love the open concept — I’m guessing that this is property was restored? I haven’t watched the full article yet, but again, this is what a house at this price point should be. Originally, it would be 12-20 million, but since it’s in Aspen, it’s mostly the land and the view.

  • I don’t like the cold weather, nor do I ski, so I will not be considering this home, lol! 😆 But, I did love the huge retractable glass walls, tall ceilings, and beautiful views – it really is a gorgeous property. 👍 Looks like Zillow currently has it listed for $48 mil…. and, seems it can be rented for $235,000/month. A 1,200 sq. ft. dwelling down the street is $1.5 mil.

  • Coming to the comment section I expected to see very different comments. While this house is very nice, this is the least luxurious and most underwhelming house I have ever seen with a price tag that steep. While the location is a huge factor in it, i still dont see this house being worth $75,000,000.

  • I love how Americans add exorbitant price tags to homes. My dudes, with that money you can buy villages and have lots left. You can buy citadels in Europe that were built before your ancestors even knew there was land beyond the horizon. You can buy chalets in the actual best ski resorts in the world. You can buy castles and woodland…you can buy anything but this overpriced house. The price tag is beyond ridiculous! Unreal!

  • You can really tell when a property has been designed and decorated to be a livable space and when it’s just an investment. I like how there’s natural light everywhere. Even if i ever get the money to buy a mansion I don’t think I would buy one, the maintenance must be a nightmare with so many custom things, and the cleaning alone probably requires a team, the solo idea of a bunch of stranger working everyday in your mansion sounds really not appealing.

  • House tours with one guy holding a camera and taking you through the house is much better than what we see in this article. With these cut shots it makes the article kind of chaotic and everywhere and doesn’t show you every single part of the house and how it fits together. One guy holding a camera is better while also much simpler.

  • When he said $75,000,000.00 I didn’t even flinch or laugh . I’m just wondering how much land you have ( AROUND THE HOME ) . I saw a house in Los Angeles …. they wanted 6.9 Million for it ! And it was right on the Sidewalk !, ” Good Luck ! ” with that Goofy Sale ! But this house ??? …. Who’s gonna get that Mudroom dirty ?! That rug alone cost more than 1K .

  • For 75MILL, I would add a indoor pool, jacuzzi, gym, spa room, bowling alley, movie theater, a bank, Chef, clothing store, grocery store, a Elevator, Security from every angle of the Mansion, bullet proof mansion, shooting range in the mansion. Computer room, library, a club in the basement, office, a bar. IN OTHER WORDS FOR 75MILL MEANS, I’M NOT LEAVING THE MANSION. I WILL DO EVERYTHING FROM HOME FOR 75MILL Look even if I have a Doctor’s appointment, I’m not leaving the house for 75MILL. I’ll take pictures of my chest, inside of mouth, whatever the doctors needs right from home. The only traveling I’ll be doing is from the house to the Mailbox to get the Mail. Period

  • A 75 million buck hotel. Nice. Would it be weird to both own the hotel and stay in one of the guest rooms as a semi permanent guest? Asking for a friend. You would need full staff but I can see this being something fantastic. Like $35,000 a night? Would be perfect for inviting investors to watch a reel. Ten days, a little $350,000 investment to get your movie sold. Practically pays for itself at just over a million for the month and three sets of investors. All inclusive, fully staffed. Boom.

  • Good for that person. She was one of the few people who was decent to me. I’m sorry that I wasn’t that nice back. In school, it was only the best impress, so I was jealous. I wanted her to be my friend, but she didn’t relate to me. I am as intellectual as a rock. The school system should have not forced me to have friends. I ended up with them because one’s parent was a special ed teacher and the other one had a challenged sibling. I’ve been by myself most of my life. If they aren’t going to fix the problems, then they might as well leave us alone. Doctors of any sort have to watch out for us anyway. They should make a list of who they were nice to or had empathy for and might come back. Several doctors have been targeted because of that. Universal Hall pass and “Sally’s Song” needs to stop. I told them to f off. I’m not going after her. I hate how they have young females use these weapons. When we mature, we don’t knock each other, but we can be deadly when competing for a mate or social status.

  • Gorgeous house but design like this shouldn’t have to cost 75M. I wish I saw this at more at a 1-5 million range. Which is still unobtainable I’m sure for many people but it’s just a shame these custom homes are tens of millions. Something a quarter of the size of this and minus some features would be amazing

  • Karl Nespas says : ” Those homes should come with a team of robots dedicated to keeping them spotless given their asking prices – this is a significant value proposition now that I have mentioned it . The world will see which major real estate company hits it out of the park . It is likely to be a company based in JAPAN that is not to say I am ruling out SPAIN or AMERICA . “

  • How come no dresser nore buffet for the beautiful plates you wanna see in your kitchen? How come the guest rooms have no bathtube that I cannot see anywhere, how come the cinema thing dont have more luxury armchairs, how come a tv in the garage corridor? How come 75 000 000? Why noy 70 or 68 or 83 ? It is a gorgeous place with two lousy sellers and a owner who overestimate the price of his place

  • As a Colorado resident this is just gross. This is the antithesis of what Colorado is and what money is and has started to turn the state into. Old mountain towns being beautified for the rich to move in and raise the cost of living for everyone else. Colorado is a beautiful place but people don’t understand most Coloradans enjoy the state how it is, instead most newcomers want to change it more into where they came from. If you live in Aspen, Denver, Fort Collins, or Boulder you aren’t a Coloradan, you’re a outsider who happens to live here.
