To clean the outside of a Sub-Zero refrigerator, apply stainless steel cleaner to a clean, microfiber cloth and rub it in the direction of the stainless steel grain. Dip a soft, lint-free cloth in stainless steel polish and apply to the exterior, rubbing in the direction of the grain. Gently wipe down the stainless steel with a damp microfiber cloth.
For the interior components, simple soap and water work best, while a stainless steel cleaner and polish can keep the exterior shiny. To ensure proper cleaning, unplug the refrigerator and remove all food, shelves, and drawers. Dishwashing liquid and water solution, or dishwashing liquid with baking soda for stubborn spots, is recommended. White vinegar and water in a 1:1 solution or special non-abrasive cleaners made for cleaning surfaces are also recommended.
For the exterior, use a lint-free or microfiber cloth. Never use a product with an abrasive surface, as it’s unnecessary and risks damaging the finish. For cleaners, use commercially available stainless steel cleaner or polish. Clean white and almond door panels with regular household spray cleaner.
Sub-Zero does not recommend steam cleaning for any part of a Sub-Zero unit. Clean the condenser area of your Sub-Zero every three to six months, and if you have pets, it may be necessary to clean the area. Turn off the refrigerator and unplug it from the switch board. Wear protective gloves to prevent damage. If your Sub-Zero refrigerator has panels, clean them with mild detergent and a soft cloth.
