To clean your BMW car, avoid direct sunlight as it can damage both the car and yourself. Instead, find a shaded area with good lighting and use a soft brush and a cleaner specifically designed for leather to remove dirt and oils. Clean regularly using a round brush attachment to clean out the center console and air vents. Vacuuming your BMW is not a one-size-fits-all operation; use a high-pressure vacuum cleaner with add-on attachments to eliminate dust, dirt, hair, crumbs, and other foreign bodies that accumulate in small and tight spaces.
First, clear out loose items like straw wrappers, tissues, or other trash hiding. Vacuum the interior thoroughly with a high-quality vacuum cleaner and use an interior brush to gently massage the cleaning solution into the fabric. Wipe suds out of the fabric with a microfiber towel. Do not use a brush to scrub your BMW down, as they can be abrasive and scratch your premium paint.
To clean debris off the seats and floors, use a Dyson V15 with a wide brush and sometimes the crevice tool. A powerful cordless cleaner is also recommended. Start with Boar’s hair brush and step up to a drill brush or Leatherique treatment if desired. Apply a liberal amount of cleaer to the spiked area, work in with a horse hair brush, wipe off, and repeat until clean.
If the surface is heavily soiled, use a leather cleaning brush in lieu of a microfiber towel to more aggressively agitate the cleaner. Use a round brush to clean the console and air vents. There are several incredible products to remove dust and dirt from your BMW. Before starting, check your owner’s manual for specific instructions.

Is it OK to wash a car with a brush?
The car wash brush is a controversial topic, often seen as a weapon that can scratch the vehicle’s body. However, it is essential to choose a brush with soft, dense, plastic bristles to avoid damaging the paint. Hard bristles can cause small scratches on the car’s body and may even scratch off the paint, depending on the thickness of the layer and the age of the car.
A better solution is a brush with soft, dense, and preferably dense plastic bristles. Regularly clean the brush after each wash to remove impurities and dirt, and check its condition regularly. Replace the bristles when they harden or become crooked. Rinse the brush thoroughly with water to remove any remaining sand particles and other particles that could damage the paint.
A car washing sponge is a safer option for car wash, as it is less likely to scratch the paint and is cheaper. However, drivers often make mistakes when choosing a sponge. Before purchasing a sponge, consider several key aspects:
- It must be soft and made of plastic to prevent paint damage.
- The amount of water that absorbs into it should be high to allow for a larger surface wash. Using a sponge can save time and energy by washing the car with a soft, plastic sponge.

Do car washes with brushes scratch cars?
Automatic car washes use brushes to remove dirt and grime from a car’s surface while being gentle enough not to damage its finish. They prevent excessively muddy vehicles from entering their wash tunnel, protecting equipment and vehicles. To determine if the paint has been damaged, inspect the vehicle’s paint closely. If it appears dull or fades, it may be a problem that needs to be addressed. If the shine returns with wax or polish, it may be time to get a new paint job.

What brush can I use to clean my car?
There are three main types of car wash brushes: wheel and tire brushes, brushes with hose attachments, and microfiber car wash brushes. Wheel and tire brushes have stiffer bristles due to the higher dirt and grime level on the wheels. They typically have a long non-slip handle for cleaning various nooks and crevices. These brushes ensure no soap is left on the vehicle and don’t require rushing to use the hose after cleaning. Brushes with hose attachments allow for cleaning and rinsing the car down. Both types of brushes have their advantages and disadvantages.

interior general cleaning I use Chemical guys Nonsense since it doesn’t make you cough when you spray it. If I need a stronger product to clean a spot I use Meguiars APC (This has a strong odor). For “Matte Shine” I will use CG VRP for plastic and rubber areas, leather I use the same Ammo Mousse. And for Glass I use invisible glass (the foam style) which so far hasn’t left me any streaks.
I found that using the bush attachment on the vacuum work awesome! I use it for the entire interior with a paint brush to get into the cracks… I found it really helps pull up dirt and hair from the carpet and it also helps cleans out the little buttons. I use the attachment that you use to get in the hard to reach spots like throttle pedal and between the seat and console/door jam
***HELP*** Question I’m looking at purchasing an 07 328i the. Individual who is selling it told me that the dashboard lights don’t come on(sometimes). LOVE THE website dude
Larry, at Ammo NYC, actually has a article on why we are attracted to things that are shiny. While it may not apply to you since you do not like your car to be too shiny inside it is nice to know that there is a possible explanation. This is the link: youtube.com/watch?v=2zxiNEp_7mg I also liked the toothbrush idea for the pedals. I never thought to do that! Good suggestion. Remember no protectant on the peddles because they would get slippery and could cause an accident.
I get my car cleaned inside and out by a great place I know. Costs about $20 and takes 30 minutes. By the way, I keep absolutely no junk in my car and even bought a dongle to eliminate all those cables everywhere. How you keep your car is how you run your life and your mind… Everyone is always amazed by how clean my car is but always think that maybe you have to pick your boss up from the airport tomorrow morning…
Pretty cool. For my X5 35i I use Armor all ultra shine detailer, Mothers speed interior detailer. I have a dusbuster vacuum and keep a swiffer duster 360° in the glove box. I dont normally run rubber mats all year long but only in winter, i would jet wash the floor rug mats to flush out all the dirt, dust etc. Also dont forget little trees black ice or leather scent. Just changed both CAF to make the air better, previous owner hadn’t changed them for quite some time.
Shiny or matte finish who really cares important thing is conditioning the leather and keeping surfaces clean and UV protected. P.S. RainX anti fog is not compatible with window tint per their website, so avoid it if you got tinted windows, but if your windshield has no tint then of course use it there if you want.
now try imagine cleaning your car interior without a vacuum cleaner or shit like that. all you got is a water and cotton cloth. thats how i clean my car.its disaster for me i dont even open my windows so dust dont get in. and then my dad takes it out and run all around the world and bring it back with all possible dust it can get inside
