Baldwin Exterior Door Handle Removal Instructions?

The Baldwin Logan handle is a common issue that can be difficult to remove. To fix this issue, you can replace the broken tailpiece on the key in knob or key in lever sets. To determine the handing of your door, face the door from the outside and determine the location of the door hinges. If the hinges are on the right, it is a right-hand door.

To remove a handle set on front doors, follow these steps:

1. Open the door containing the Baldwin door lever.
2. Place a block of wood between the edge of the door and the door frame. This will allow you to remove the handle.
3. Register your product to access product warranty, receive accurate product support, and enable our customer service team to better serve your needs.
4. Test the installation.
5. Replace the lever only.

To remove a door handle with exposed screws, undo the screws and slide out the door handle. If you’re adding a new door handle, remove the latch mechanism.

If you can’t remove the door knob, follow these steps:

1. Unscrew the brass ring behind the lever with the slots in it. Baldwin provides a special tool with locksets, which has two sets of screws for holding the interior handle half on and the outside clamshell on.
