High-quality 100 acrylic latex paints like Sherwin-Williams Duration and Rhino Shield offer protection against fading, cracking, and peeling, while lighter paint colors like beige, tan, light brown, light blues, white, and light green reflect sunlight and heat away from surfaces, reducing UV damage and keeping the building’s exterior looking fresh longer.
Elastomeric wall coatings provide a waterproof barrier, and products like Rhino Shield come with long-term warranties. Professional application by experienced services ensures maximum durability, while regular maintenance, including cleaning surfaces, checking for damages, and applying sealants, preserves appearance and function over time. Sun exposure is a significant factor affecting the longevity of exterior paint on commercial and industrial properties.
I dont know if its just me but the i feel like sherwin have a rough touch, almost like a primer (for duration and super paint at least) . Im groing scepticall of them lol So far i like Dulux for price and product(maybe some lack coverage) and benjamin more (put they are more expensive if im not wrong)
I was always wondering what the better paints are. I am not a painter or handyman or anything that is even a stretch of that but sometimes I paint a room in my house. I just want the best paint that covers the best and never seems to fade or at least will take a lot longer to fade than some cheap paint. I know a lot of times it is you get what you pay for. It would also be one that if used outside I should not be afraid to get near it with a pressure washer (within reason of course). I am the sort of person who would like to forget about ever having to maintain it for 5 to 10 years or longer. I only want to be reminded it is there when I see how good it still looks years from the date it was applied. I am sure a lot of other people feel the same way. They just want to get it on and not have to worry about it.
I recently painted my kitchen and family room area with Sherwin-Williams Duration Shoji White and didn’t care for it. I wouldn’t use it again. I’d read so many comments about how people like it – but I’m going back to Behr Marquee next time. And not to take away from this article but there is a guy with a website here on YouTube named Project Farm that did a good side by side comparison with many different paints. He also concluded that Emerald was the best.
Not a fan of the Behr Dynasty…way too thick and gloopy, and it spattered like crazy in the tray and on the rollback – it was like trying to paint with wood glue. I’m a fan of the Emerald, excellent depth of color, and it has a very manageable viscosity. I found I got more coverage on average out of one gallon of Emerald than I did with other brands, so while you pay a premium for it up front, you save money in the long run by using less paint overall.
I had a contractor use the contractor grade paint to paint the interior of my home in Revere Pewter. The color changed and became muddy looking over time. I went and purchased Natura to do some touch up and it looked completely different than what the contractors had done. Have you run across this problem? Now I’m about to cover the Revere Pewter in Simply White. How many coats do you think it will take? I’m thinking I’m going to use flat Benjamin Moore paint in Regal Select.
Keep up the good work. Could you please review water-based paints that accept stains that are waterbased or not ? I mean Paints for base coats to transform say metal or drywall into a wood faux finish. ILL be working on a garage door that takes a beating from the sun almost all day ? If there’s time also looking at the best stains for this type of job would be appreciated as well.
I went to a Benjamin Moore store to pick up samples (I’m in the process of picking a color for my contractor). The salesman told me all of their eggshell paints have the same durability and wash ability. I explained to him these were offices and a bedroom and I needed to be able to clean occasionally scuffs, etc. Is the contractor grade in eggshell durable enough or do you recommend upgrading to regal?
