  • Good business idea to copy, because it also worked in other places and industries ! He is basically running the outlet for home improvement products who sell to the largest customers. There is a similar business idea in different countries. He is selling left-over stock items from the last production run. I think Overstock is doing the same for all product categories. There is also the exact same business model in a German outlet type of store.

  • If he replaced the home improvement materials with apple, Microsoft, and rare coffee prodcuts would it still be “blue collar”? I guess I can see someone making the arugment, but buying and reselling products is not what people imiage when they think of blue collar work. I can understand a contractor whos on site leading the project, but this guy probably does more paperwork than lifting.

  • So happy to have catalogued all of this footage for this article to look back on all the work we’ve done over the years! You can watch: The original house tour: youtube.com/watch?v=ZW4qiiNjxr4 2 years renovating: youtube.com/watch?v=Of3RKlU6i3A Renovation playlist: youtube.com/watch?v=BGqcUUju7uw&list=PL8QDbHDg_9YavOxuUK4Gu7Xd26K47Y4YD&index=1&t=0s&ab_channel=MadeleineOlivia

  • When you said you don’t use your kitchen stools very much I couldn’t help but think about how perfect they’ll be if/when you expand your family. I think most of my childhood was spent on a kitchen stool chatting with my mom while she cooked❤ You’ve done such a lovely and thoughtful job with this renovation🎉

  • Gosh Maddie I remember you guys feverishly doing the living room for Christmas over vlogmas that year and cheering you along and thinking about how lovely it would be when it was done!! Your articles are always so nostalgic for me – as well as for you – as I remember where I was in my life when I watched them!

  • I think its great you have neutrals in your lounge because you can simply alter the colour scheme with new pillows, ornaments etc to change your colour scheme and once you have children, you will need to get darker colours for little sticky hands so maybe slip covers would be the go for your couches even. Great nest you have created. Love all the pale blue.

  • Your home, hands down, is my favorite of any I’ve watched on YT! I love the fact you & Alex appreciate the old world style, and have made every room worthy of the era. From your kitchen, to your living room, and especially your cozy bedroom, everything about your home, inside and out is absolutely beautiful!

  • Madeleine, you have exquisite taste. I can’t believe you did so much of the work yourself. I absolutely love your house and wish I had one like it. I’ve always wanted an Aga and a fireplace in the kitchen (every room, actually). (We have typical boxy mid-century American ranch.) I have a dumb question. In nearly every place I’ve lived, there was a vent over the oven or a downdraft in the oven. What do you do to vent out the steam when you cook?

  • Love love love your beautiful home .. we have also just made the huge decision of buying a comfy big sofa for our Georgian sitting room rather than something pretty and aesthetically pleasing.. i always love your ideas and our house sold itself with a Rayburn in the kitchen.. Love the coziness in the winter… look forward to ep.2 🙂

  • You have such lovely taste, a delight to see your home. I’m curious about the nook in the kitchen, do you have a radiator under the window seat? And do you have any trouble with mold behind the shelves /cupboards either side of it? When I’ve put things against an outside wall it becomes an issue for me in my 1940s built tiny bungalow. I would love to do this in my home and it’s the only thing stopping me. Thank you again.

  • Funny enough, your youtube website was the very first one I had ever seen. I know I am a bit behind in the times. I didn’t actually find it, my husband did…which if you knew him you’d know that was even more amazing. The house transformation has been done perfectly, every room, every decision is bang on:). Just a word of caution, moving a toilet from one side of the room to the other is a bigger “deal” than you’d think. Good luck on the bathroom reno (but for me it is perfect as it is).

  • All your painstaking renovations to make your home look period, yet full of modern comfort and convenience, have obviously been successful (you’re in Period Living magazine, for goodness sake!). You should be proud of all your hard work! Very impressive! You’ve made a very comfortable and charming home. ❤❤
