  • In terms of good-better-best, you’ve got base-bigbend-outerbanks in the conventional way (comfort and styling), base-blackdiamond-badlands in the off-roady way, with the raptor if you can afford it better still. Wildtrak aspires to be better in both ways, but add the bigger wheels and bigger engine to any other trim and you’ve basically got a wildtrak. Manual transmission is not availabale with Mid or better equipment package except on badlands, so if you want a stickshift in conjunction with heated seats or the front cameras, you’re pushed into a relatively high trim. Stick shift does not have the cut brake. Notable feature of the big bend is that it is the cheapest trim on which you can get a locking differential (on base, you’d need to upgrade to sasquatch). That said, black diamond only slightly more expensive has the locker stock and also has steel bumper, underbody protection, and the washable interior. Everglades is basically a black diamond sasquatch but with a snorkel and winch pre-installed, but the snorkel adds less than 2″ of fording depth. Badlands has the same suspension as sasquatch, and there’s now a small spacer lift if you want to roll your own, but the net savings would be modest. The larger engine only makes 10% more power, but 30% more torque. However, the crawler gear on the stickshift, only available with the smaller engine, multiplies torque by a larger factor, so it’s about the same maximum at the wheel. With sasquatch package, manual is same price as auto, but without that optional package, manual is cheaper.

  • Really think im gonna get a Bronco soon, I just got a wrangler for 48k. It has no keyless entry, no power door locks, no power windows, driving it on the highway feels like absolute shit as it bounces everywhere along with the steering wheel, the stereo is slow I have to wait two minutes after starting for it to actually start responding to my touches and I have to manually connect my phone to bluetooth everytime, not to mention my portable speaker sounds better than the audio system in the jeep, etc. etc.

  • This Everglades is exactly how I made my base Sasquatch bronco. I purposely wanted the 2.3l because first off 300hp in an off-roader is plenty plus it was reliable being that it had been in the Ranger and Mustang plus if you want more power you can tune and it will still stay reliable. Really wish they had the Everglades at launch would have been the model I bought.

  • My ’22 BadSquatch, 2.7L MIC, Lux, Tow, was $59, 800 and has the Sta-bar disconnect, heated seats, and adaptive cruise. I didn’t do the modular bumper cause I don’t like the Ford winch setup and getting an aftermarket bumper. The MGV seats are great and the builtin drains in the floor as well. I just don’t see the cost value for the Everglades.

  • The wildtrak doesnt offer s sway bar disconnect. And the everglades is a niceee vehicle but the badlands offers soo much more you can get the vinyl floor, manual trans and the 2.3l in the badlands. Add a snorkel and since these broncos are very very modular you can swap the fenders if you really like the square over the round

  • I thought about the getting a Everglades but the fact of the smaller engine and non being changeable kill it for me, the V6 in my opinion and experience driving with both engines the V6 feel away better in every aspect, it’s a cool vehicle and definitely gonna be great but I couldn’t sacrifice how the bigger engine feel even tho the Everglades comes loaded

  • It’s one of the dummest trims… LOL. Stop, just stop. You get the lowest spec motor, with the least payload capacity, with a snorkel which is generally useless. It has a few longer vent tubes, but suffers from the same problematic alternator that can’t handle exposure to the elements. The winch is overpriced, prevents the use/equipping of 360 cameras, prevents the equipping of adaptive cruise control, and still uses those craptastic Goodyear Territory M/T’s.

  • I just worry about the longevity of all these little 4 bangers with turbos and high compression ratios. This thing is over 2 horsepower per cubic inch, which is really pushing it. You have to really rev them out to get into the power band. Personally, I don’t like vehicles with poor low end power. As they say, “There’s no replacement for displacement.”

  • When it comes to a 4X4 in today’s world I always think about my first. A 1972 K5 Chevy Blazer with locking front hubs and automatic transmission. It did have an AM radio. A strictly utilitarian interior. Cost in 1972 dollars was $4200.00. It looked like an overweight International. The Marines at the Navy base where I was stationed in the northeast wouldn’t even stop it. Even when my wife was driving.

  • I really like the bronco, but I have always been thrown off of its looks with its fender flares. When Ford announced the Everglades trim with the new flares, it corrected the issue I had with it and looks 100x better. I think those flares should be offered on every trim. I just don’t like the round flares. My wife wanted a bronco and we were set to order one but once I pointed out the flares she didn’t like it either. We do go offroad and we use the swaybar disconnect on our gladiator a lot. I think it’s dumb that they did not include the sway bar disconnect on the Everglades model. So now we are stumped again. You can’t always have everything. What to do what to do. In reality it’ll prob be fine if we don’t have a sway bar disconnect but for 55-56k they could have included it.

  • I wish you could get the 3.0L engine in the bronco without the raptor package! The 2.7L is just underpowered for a built bronco. I have the 2.7L in my F150 and it gets a passing grade when not towing, but honestly it doesn’t have enough to put a grin on your face. Maybe I am just too used to driving electric cars like the Model Y that have dual motors and insane torque off the line?

  • wish you would have covered a bit more of the specs on water fording the swamp rat vs std bronco water fording. Why is a defeatured, yet costly, model really worth the cost? How much weight difference is there really? You mentioned things, but failed to ‘sell’ me that it is really desirable, because you did not drill into the details more.

  • Everglades looks like a better package. No Sasquatch in Glades only Skunk Apes and never gets cold enough to warrant heated wheel/seats. Otherwise, it was a good commercial for Ford. FYI–I remember mud boggin in the 80s with my buddy in his 2 door 4 banger Yota! 4 cylinders are plenty of engine for most people.

  • For the design. It’s perfect. Why. It has enough but doesn’t. Person like myself. I love to mod. That one has all of the basic needs. Then what I want to add. I can. Yet. I bought my truck back in 2020. Now way I can afford two new vehicles. Yet. If I could. I would definitely buy one. Thanks for sharing.

  • I think it’s really cool how varied Ford has made the Broncos from the factory. Like with all the different grills and myriad of other special versions, packages and options. It would be really neat to be able to perhaps visit Ford and talk about how they are able to do this- is it just additive manufacturing (3D print) decreasing costs to prototype? How else have modern manufacturing techniques allowed them to do ’boutique’ mass production like this?

  • Most people who buy a Bronco are never going to take it off-road (maybe once or twice a year, if that much). So how many times are they going to need the disconnect sway bar feature? Better to have the winch for self-recovery or recovering someone else. With the way our crazy weather has been going lately (global warming), we can expect more flooding, including the kind of deep flooding that kills ordinary vehicles; having the snorkel could be an indispensable asset. In my city, underpasses (especially railroad underpasses) are deep and fill up with water even during light to medium rain events. Every time this happens, the newscasts show vehicles that conked out in waist-deep water. Okay, this isn’t exactly off-roading, but it isn’t boulevard cruising, either. In fact, it’s more like off-roading than boulevard cruising. Having a super capable vehicle like the Bronco Everglades could save your fanny now and then.

  • I built one of these online. It’s what I would get if I were getting one. If I do get a Bronco it will be a 4-banger because I want a manual. I’m torn between a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk and the Bronco. My commute will only be 24 miles round trip starting in August so the 25 mile EV range of the 4xe is very appealing. I’d love to to say “screw it” and just get both but I don’t have 120k to drop on vehicles.

  • I don’t need leather seats. I don’t need carpeted floors. But I will never spend over 50k for a vehicle that doesn’t have power seats. The seats are one of the most important things to me on the interior of the vehicle. Not even having upgraded power seats as an available option is just incomprehensible to me.

  • The dealers are asking $70 to $90 grand in Canada 🤣🤣🤣 you barely see them on the roads. They were supposed to be affordable to take on the Jeep crowds. They have completely out prices themselves up here in Canada. It will eventually fail in sales, there’s so many 2022 models of trucks and SUV’s for sale in Canada now. Prices and the cost of loans is making these unaffordable.

  • Ford’s quality control problems are well known. Buying any vehicle built in 2020,2021, & 2022 is problematic due to supply issues and employee problems due to Covid. Ford has a $2 Billion warranty problem that is putting the companies survival at risk. Ford did a good job on the Bronco but engines that explode isn’t a confidence builder for potential customers. Ford has to fix their quality issues or they won’t survive.

  • Kinda same kinda scenario as the 4Runner trd off road and 4Runner trd pro. It’s widely known though and nothing new. Everyone knows get the trd off road if you are gonna build it and nod it. If you just want to do some light off roading and go on cool adventures and not too crazy hard trails and don’t want to mess with aftermarket and keep your warranty and have something capable right off the lot, the trd pro is worth the extra money for those people. So many people pay for the trd pro just for that 6 letter little badge and then rip off the fox suspension, trd skid plate, trd wheels, and everything else that makes it a pro and then throw on all new aftermarket parts. Lolll. Spent all that extra money on trd pro and then way more money on aftermarket parts for nothing.

  • Great article Tommy! I love the effort and thought that went into changing the everglades model. What are your opinions on a Base Sasquatch… from a pure value perspective, the base sasquatch that can be upgraded over time. A 4 door Basesquatch with hard top and wiring kit runs around 45K based on engines and accessories / the Everglades runs around 56K but that includes upgrades like a wash out floor / vinyl seats / mid package / etc {Not a bad deal at all if you plan to keep it stock}. I could have a lot of fun upgrading a bronco with the $11,000 saved. But I’m curious, If you had 56K to spend on a bronco, would you go for the everglades or upgrade/customize a base?

  • I’m surprised that you and your viewers are waste time on another out of reach vehicle. $55k requires $1.2vk payments for 60 mo for payoff plus insurance. No one can afford that. Please stick to reviewing vehicles that can be purchased and insured for $500 a month or less. These are the only things we can afford, and then rarely. Detroit engineers & marketers have gone stupid. Consumers say “f em. This is a gd toy”.

  • $56000.00 is insane for what is a basic model with a winch that you can buy for 1200, a pretty ugly plastic tube and a few longer hoses. It would have helped to have the cameras and front sway bar disconnect. Also with the dealer mark ups going on you probably won’t find one any where near that price.

  • I live in Florida and fish in the Everglades all the time. I fell in love with the Everglades Edition in green when I first saw it. Went to the dealer to order one last year. They told me it was only available to current reservation holders. I needed something that would tow my utility trailer and go off-road so I bought a 2011 Lexus GX460 with 114k miles and I absolutely loved it. Well 6 months later I got a warning light on the dash for transmission solenoids. Apparently the only fix is a tranny swap for $6k. Then I noticed a coolant leak and that’s another $2k fix. I bought the Lexus because of it was supposed to be reliable. I don’t have $8k on hand. I went to the Ford dealer the other day because they actually had an Everglades Edition in stock. The dealer had it Marked up to $76k and told me Ford has stopped taking all orders on Broncos even for 2024 models. I can’t buy a Bronco or afford to throw $8k into a $22k 12 year old vehicle. I’m basically without a vehicle for at least a year now. Screw Ford. They botched this whole thing.

  • Well, the 4 cil is the one thing that actually makes it very hard for the everglades. Yes, as you put more money on a vehicle you expect more power, more cilinders, more performance… maybe not luxury, because it is an off road machine, but serious offroaders that actually need that extra range will take some jerrycans along. Same for the body, actual hardcore offroaders will want the short bronco for that. Picture your ideal big vehicle for someone that loves going out to the sand, the mud, the rocky trails and all of it in the middle. If you are spending 50 to 60k on it you probably have some money to get a daily or to get a separate family car (married people will have an SUV made for long road trips and short city commuting that they will give to their wifes). So, even if it is your daily, make it a 2 door Bronco and give it the big engine with plenty of power to make the man behind the wheel smile like the joker when he floors the thing. I personally love the Bronco as is and if I spend that ammount of money on one I will get the V6… or maybe the Everglades and plan ahead to get a Coyote Swap in the future. Imagine a Bronco with a Twin Turbo Coyote under the hood. That is Raptor Killer and wrangler 392 killer, maybe even street performance SUV’s will be embarassed. (Not trying to be sexist, it is just more simple to go with the stereotypes we all have as a society).

  • Ford disappointed on earnings. Left 2 billion on the table ostensibly. Maybe if your dealers weren’t marking these up so bad, production should be much closer to normal, I mean cmon. Ashame, I’m a mustang owner and ordered it from a dealer and they didn’t mark it up. They flat out told me if I walked away they would mark it for 10 or 15k more. I like these broncos, but there is definitely truth to the bigger engine bigger value. Why pay 56k for a 4 cylinder with a little less when you can get a v6 for the same or a little more.

  • I would agree with you somewhat on your comments Tommy. I feel like people are going to purchase the higher trim Bronco then add those items (snorkel, winch…) to that higher end vehicle. It’s the best of both worlds if you do it that way. I could probably go to Ford and purchase that snorkel and add it to a Badlands or bronco r edition. The other thing that does is it opens those specialty parts to all trims and different configurations, ie. 6 cylinder manual transmission with sway bar disconnect, vehicle. On the same token if you are using this as a daily driver and want some weekend off road capability or are wanting that aggressive look in your bronco without the fancy trim it would be the perfect bronco for you. As far as rarity goes, futuristically it probably will be rare because of the high price tag now with not so many options.

  • I would like it more if it came as a two-door and had a manual. If it had those options, it would let me like the four-cylinder because I get the fun manual, and the two-door would make it more agile. However, I would just opt for a two-door badlands with the sasquatch package. I would also order the winch and the snorkel, and the different fenders from the factory to make it the bronco for me.

  • This thing Americans have about large engine us crazy Europeans have been down sixing engine and upping power and torque for years now and japanese & koreans gave caught on as well nissan 0,9 1,3 1,5 3 cylinder turbo unit in the xtrail rouge/qashqai. Bmw 1.5 3 cylinder T mercede with 1.33 and 1.5 T 1.6T 4 in some e class even GM had 1.5T 1.0T 1.6T 300bhp ford 1.0 turbo 190bhp But you do not see these cars in usa. Why? They out perform many larger engines with the exception of Ford early engine they been reliable with great fuel economy

  • This guy must be getting paid by Ford, the 2.3’s are totally failing left and right, you can get a 2023 Bronco for slightly under msrp. My friend just got a Jeep unlimited Sarah’s for 8K under msrp, the only ones going for like $2500.00 under msrp are the Rubicons, and those the people who buy them don’t even off road
