  • Cool fact. the director from house insisted on having an American actor perform the role as he believed the accent wouldn’t sound authentic. Hugh Laurie and his manager or whoever finds Hugh new roles, didn’t know this and still put forward a audition. then got picked by the director personally and the director didn’t realise Hugh was English till a few episodes into the show, due to Hugh method acting so he didn’t drop the accent even off screen. One last bit of info. Hugh had an instant grasp of the character so much so he didn’t put much effort into his audition as he felt that’s what the character would do, so he filmed his audition in his hotel bathroom with crappy lighting, in the clothes from the day before so that he looked rough this was especially effective as he didn’t shave either so he had a rough stubble this created houses natural look. Edit: Now anyone who thinks they can be gramma police fuck off I don’t fucking care or if u are gonna moan on like a at least do something fucking useful. instead of being a keyboard warrior send how you think the comment should be structured because simply put YouTube comment punctuation and gramma mean didly squat to me I have so much other shit to deal with so deal with it and for anyone who still moans hears a few random bits of punctuation have at it lol:;.,-/…,:;-.. -:/,.”’’)(}{()?

  • Seth:”so we are getting House on the show how should we write him in?” Writer:”why don’t we have him insult people in funny ways like in his show? It would also suit the humor we usually do.” Seth:” nah. Maybe we can have him do that once but the rest of the time we should break his character down into its tropes then have him talk about them in a lifeless manner. That should be funny and not at all tiresome.”

  • That was an awfull script… Hugh Laurie is great but i guess Family Guy’s comedy isn’t Hugh’s comedy.. like the writers on Dr. House were good, he was capable of saying the lines in such an enterteining way… here… he barely moves… the faces he made in the show were so cool… they wasted him in such stupid punch lines…

  • you can hear anytime he says a word that ends in and ‘ess’ sound (i.e. superiors, house, etc.) how the ess sound drags a little and the next word is delayed which is a giveaway that his natural accent is London English. I always noticed this as a kid when I was perusal house but chocked it up to Laurie trying to think of the next line but when I learned he was British it made a lot of sense.

  • This… just doesn’t feel right, doesn’t even sound like Hugh Laurie, I think it’s the animation. The animation forces the characters to act in a way that is… stiff… which doesn’t fit house. House almost NEVER speaks in this kind of monotone. But he kind of has to because they can’t animate him as being as expressive as he is on the actual show.
