Boston-based interior designer Taniya Nayak, a regular cast member of the popular Food Network show “Restaurant: Impossible”, has announced the return of the show after 22 seasons. The show, hosted by chef Robert Irvine, featured 81 of the 205 restaurants featured on the show, with approximately 40 of them still open as of 2024. The Food Network has tracked the performance of the series in turning restaurants around, with all seven of the restaurants featured in the 2011 premiere season having closed by 2015. Nayak is currently filming a new season of Restaurant: Impossible, working alongside Irvine to revamp restaurants across the country. She has also appeared as an interior design expert on the Food Network show Restaurant: Impossible and the DIY Network show The Vanilla Ice Project.
Nayak is based in Boston and serves on the advisory board for her alma mater. She is currently a featured designer on Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible and recently hosted HGTV’s Urban Oasis 2013 in Boston. In 2012, she had an offer to do several more episodes of Restaurant Impossible but turned it down due to it getting in the way with her regular design clientele.
