How to hang art over a toilet?

Hanging art above a toilet or near furniture is a common mistake people make when decorating their homes. To avoid this, it is essential to hang the picture at eye level, with the center hanging 56 to 60 inches from the floor. This is similar to how you might over-plucked an eyebrow and ended up with a cray face.

The Dream Homies Facebook Community provides a platform for people to ask for advice and learn how to hang art correctly. By following these tips and guidelines, you can work on your own art, post pictures, and ask for advice before putting holes in the walls.

There are six different situations to consider when hanging art: hanging on a bare wall or above furniture shorter than 30 inches, hanging a grouping of pictures as one piece, or dividing the wall into four sections and placing art in the third section from the floor. By following these guidelines, you can create a cohesive and visually appealing space that doesn’t feel off-putting.

How can I make bathroom walls look more expensive?

Stone-effect tiles and bathroom wall panels in marble, slate, and onyx are popular choices for a luxurious, expensive look at a fraction of the cost. These delicately patterned products come in a variety of textures and natural shades, offering visual interest and drama. Marble shower wall panels make a style statement, while the Spencer brushed brass wall mounted tap brightens up a bathroom.

Toilet tanks are ideal for storing extra toilet paper rolls, especially in guest bathrooms and powder rooms. They can be used for bathroom essentials or decorative items like florals, potted plants, candles, or diffusers. Multiple rolls of toilet paper can be stored in a basket or a single uncovered roll can be added to a tray or basket. To add a touch of style, fold the end of the toilet paper roll into a triangle and add a “seal” with the faucet. Turn the water on and back off, then press the end of the roll against the faucet head.

  • KIVA: Idea here that works: With a renter’s small bathroom, one sink, only 1 inch counter space on one side, and approx 10 inches on other side to the wall, a tray is not going to cut it. I recommend a fancy cake or cupcake stand. You can bling it up or paint it to suit your style. It has two levels to hold your items near the sink. Also, it doesn’t take up much counter space!

  • Yes, I love decorating my bathroom. I don’t keep any personal toiletries out. I like my sink free and clear. I don’t like toilet paper out either. I love flowers, candles, and decorative soap that goes with my color scheme. One of my bathrooms, the sink was huge, and I put a tall vase on it with decorative twigs sticking out, ceramic style candle, small elephant,

  • I love your sense of style! And appreciate your content. Immediately after viewing, I put a plant and candle in the bathroom. Those small touches truly elevate the space. Now I need bathroom friendly artwork. A few people have commented that you’re a fast talker. I actually like it! You quickly get the information to us, so we can get to work! Now if you were giving a college lecture I’d need you to slow down.

  • Kiva, I saw a great idea for styling that’s great for places especially your bathroom. 1st- I love your Johnathan Adler. He’s a favorite of mine, too. Ok so none of those boxes that tissues come in are ever going to look high-end. Instead, remove the tissue from them and put them in a somewhat wide mouth vase (so you can get them in there) Then pull one up, so people know where to get a tissue. are ever

  • Ears too slow? Can’t keep up? Pro tip: Turn on Closed Captions. Our body mechanics, including speech, don’t all work the same way. There’s no reason for KB to take elocution lessons, or slow her roll. I’ve been perusal for over a year and have little trouble comprehending her. She’s so worth the minimal effort! Closed captions are helpful to more than the hearing impaired, although I am also that.

  • I agree with everything except the Febreeze comment. It does actually get rid of odor. It originally had no scent but people didn’t like it because even though it got rid of the bad odors it didn’t leave a clean or fresh scent behind so they added scent. So find one you like. It’s one of the few true odor removal products.

  • Great ideas. I make my own soap and had a lot of people order soap bars just to match their bathrooms. ♡ I’m hoping to go back to making soaps if I ever get my sense of smell back. It’s been 3.5 years but it could happen. I also use sculptures often. I’ve even made my own. We just added another tiny bath and I kept it simple. ♡ I also talk fast when I get excited and I know how others have trouble keeping up…. lol

  • Thank you for this! I was just thinking yesterday after cleaning my whole bathroom and reorganizing, “Wow it sure looks plain in here” lol. I do have a print of like a window overlooking a beach, and two little glass dolphins I got a long time ago from a glass blower shop; but as a highly visual and artistic person, I really appreciate your article so I can take it even further. Thank you! <3

  • I bought a canvas for the bathroom from Amazon for my guest bathroom. Everyone who goes in my bathroom loves it. My guest bathroom is really small. I have one of the over the toilet shelves for storage. I love the storage, but I hate trying to clean around the toilet with the legs there. So I think it’s going and I’m going to get some shelves. I’ve been looking at shelves that would fit and look nice too. I don’t have a linen closet. So I have to keep my towels on the shelves. We had some small ones in there before. But they held nothing. I don’t have any space around the sink in the vanity. Our sinks are big squares and take up all the space. I do like to decorate the bathroom. But when you have a tiny space it makes it hard.

  • Speaking of shower niches or shelving, never have understood orienting them to face out into the space, thus showcasing mismatched plastic bottles as a design element. Would a small shelf unit slid into the space next to the toilet and facing away from the door not serve as both a table and more hidden storage for TP?

  • Speaking of fecal matter after u do #2 and flush the toilet fecal matter flies and will contaminate tooth brushes. You should always have your tooth brushes covered somehow. I keep mine in a container with mouthwash. If you look up the dirtiest things in your home you will find toothbrushes on the list. Yuck no one wants to brush their teeth with fecal matter on their brush.

  • I found it funny that people are complaining about you talking fast lol I felt like you were talking a little slow and had the playback speed at 1.75x 😂 PS. I’m Brazilian and my first language is Portuguese. Have been in the US for less than 5 years only and could understand you perfectly at 1.75x. Don’t give too much attention to all these comments. Also, just like I did, anyone can modify the playback speed and slow it down if needed. ❤ Loved the article.

  • Love your suggestions for putting art in the bathroom. It is such a novel idea, we did not do that before. I know several super high end designers who put Huge canvases in the powder baths. .Please do nor be afraid. Art is better than wallpaper. Paint your bathrooms with solid color and use large scale art painted on canvas, not on paper. I t will take your space to the next level!

  • First-time viewer here. Sadly, I gave up after about 5 minutes, because you talk so quickly. It made it hard to ponder the first suggestion before you had already rushed right through the next one. Unfortunately, the option to slow down the playback speed was unavailable for me. I won’t be back for future articles, but I wish you well.

  • Hey, I love your style. I have echo one other comments …… Please SLOW DOWN your Post are wonderful as well are your ideas but they make me anxious, like this morning I’m trying to relax look at YouTube get some ideas (CALMLY) just slow down relax I’ll would rather watch a calm 25-30 minute tutorial than a Fast Hyper 13-15 minute one! I hate to say but at one point I unsubscribed because your post were just to fast and furious! I say all this with mad Love and Respect! Slow Down!❤❤❤❤

  • Please could you talk a bit slower? To me, it’s like you’re talking in “fast-forward”. I like your content, but you’re totally stressing me out with the speed, pace or what the correct term is. Also, as I’m not a native speaker, sometimes I have to go back and listen to some passages several times. (For comparison, I can understand TV series and the regular talk shows without effort.)
