Make sure your paintbrush is fairly loaded before ‘storing’. I have had brush bases rust doing this. The resin trick was eye-opening! I have to test paint on the wall…peel and stick is OK for narrowing down choices. I always recant paint into a new, clean container/paint can when I use 1/2 can or more. These were excellent tips!👏🏻
Excellent article with the exception of the music being to loud. Your articles are informative with your tips and the music could be a problem for some just something to take in account when doing them maybe just turn the volume down on the music if you feel you must use it. I was a bit of a cheapskate and I bought some ultra cheap paint the other day for a project to save money. Not only did I actually waste money by buying a substandard product, I also wasted time applying coat after coat after coat and then was not happy with the result after putting so much effort into it. I think paint has to be one of the greatest inventions in the history of the world😆🤣 but I’ve learnt the hard way, it has to be a quality paint!😊
I’m 74 and as a child helped to paint many different projects. THESE ARE NOT YOUR TIPS AND TRICKS. I know many more but you will claim those too. I used hair conditioner after I finished my bedroom in the 60s. My granny was amazed how the brush was so soft. I have lots but I always tell people where I learned them
So…In 12 years when you are smacking the side of your head wondering why did you EVER think that painting this antique bed with its lovely details, how would you remove the paint so that you can stain (I’m sure you have a great line of stains) this piece. I ask because fashions change and you are very knowledgeable about furniture finishing.

Purchased paint pan liners are not something you always have on hand for painting and don’t fit every type of paint pan well. Bags slip around in the pan. Foil is the best pan liner. Forget about her fancy brush comb to clean only your paint brushes. Just get a 3 pack of small wire brushes at Harbor Freight for a buck…they can be used for more than one thing. Forget driving nails into your chair and just flip it upside down and paint the bottom first before flipping it to paint the top. A paint sprayer or rattle can is the proper tool for that job not a brush.
That seems like the paint every contractor should be using . The house I bought has paint that you can not clean anything with a damp cloth let alone using a chemical cleaner. It should be against the law to use paint like was / still is on the walls or most of them at my house. I have a couple rooms I have has repainted with a much better paint I purchased. You dont use a rubber band and wipe of the paint . If you do it wipes the majority of the paint of which defeats the purpose . you should get a empty gollon bucket pour about 1 inch in bottom dip brush and before you pull out of bucket tap the sides of the brush on inside of can. that is how a professional does it. Biggest problem DIYers have is the watch articles like this instead of perusal professional painters articles . Roller covers should be wetted with water for latex waterbase paints . then take it outside and spin as much of the water out as possible. wetting the rollers yarn activates the yarn and allows it to load and release paint better. ask a professional stop listening to TV shows where person has never painted.

I hired a painter to paint my condo. When he went to paint the ceiling in my bathroom and came back the next day the paint had peeled. He told me he would charge me an additional $200 to spackle my ceiling scrape it and spackle it then come back again and spackle it again and sand it down and then repaint it. My first question is why will the paint not stick? There seems to be some kind of a slick texture on the ceiling. Can you give me some direction?
All of her tips are very old and well-known tips please do not tip using an extra grocery bag to cover paint tray if you don’t have the liners you will regret it.After about 10 minutes of painting the plastic bag deteriorates in the tray and leaves marks on your brush which then makes marks on your walls trust me I found out the hard way.
