What Are Some Decorating Tips For Rosettes?

This video demonstrates how to pipe beautiful rosettes, both big and small, to add charming floral accents to cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Rosettes are a great way to create quick decorations, with different tips creating different petal effects. They can be used to add a simple floral design to cakes, cupcakes, or cookies.

To make buttercream rosettes, use tips 32, 1M, and 2D. For large rosettes, use Wilton 2D, 1B, and 1M tips, while for small rosettes, use Wilton 18 or 21 tips. Frosting tips like Wilton 1M or Ateco 825 are the most common for piping rosettes.

A decorating bag fitted with a star tip is used to hold the bag straight up, with the tip slightly above the surface. The Wilton 1M tip is the most common and is the most common choice for making buttercream rosettes. To pipe the perfect buttercream rosette, compare four piping tips: 1B, 2D, and Wilton 1M.

An open star tip is the go-to piping tip for creating buttercream rosettes, with different brands offering different versions. The Wilton 1M tip is the most common and is suitable for both hard and soft squeezing/hand work.

To create small rosettes, use a piping bag and a large open star tip. A 1B or 2D tip should get you close, but the Wilton 1M tip is probably the most popular for piping rosettes due to its all-purpose size.

In summary, this video provides a step-by-step guide on how to pipe buttercream rosettes using various tips and techniques. By following these steps, you can create beautiful and elegant rosette cakes that are both easy and visually appealing.

  • Hi, I really hope you enjoyed seeing the different rosette swirls. Which one was your favourite? If you want to see more of my piping techniques tutorials I have put together a playlist here: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUpPCmcdsboCKu7arbis6ACQifUT9o20N You can also find the recipe for my buttercream here youtu.be/tJ_T9WJEgXg

  • Hi Lynz, sorry if you’ve already mentioned it, but id like to ask about whether the same piping techniques apply to royal icing rosettes, and whether I can pipe direct onto a fondant cake. I’ve previously used my handmade gumpaste roses and flowers, on fondant cakes, sticking them with royal icing. I’ve seen a lovely buttercream cake design, that I would like to recreate on a fondant cake..❤

  • Love the pink colour just perfect I was just trying to find out what I can use or do to get the right pink in my buttercream as I find it comes out peachy for the light/baby pink colour I try to get so I’ve just ordered some raspberry colour splash so thank you for sharing love using my nozzle tips xx

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Your cupcakes look so pretty. I hope mine look like that. I wanted to tell anyone reading this something really important. One day we are all going to stand before God. If you have ever lied, stolen, used God’s name in vain (omg) which is called blasphemy, hated someone (which God consideres murder) or done other things that are against His law ( the Ten Commandments), He sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, murderer. He will judge us, and because we have all broken His law, we ALL deserve hell. But because He loves us, He became a human about two thousand years ago, lived without sinning, and died a terrible death He didn’t deserve because of us. Three days later He rose from the dead and one day He is coming back. We all deserve the ultimate punishment (hell). But God loves us so much that He took the punishment on Himself. We broke Gods law, Jesus paid the fine. If you repent from your sins ( sincerely apologize for breaking His law and turn away from doing it anymore) and trust in Him and Him only, your punishment will be paid for, you will get eternal life in heaven, and you will no longer go to hell. I’m not telling you this to judge you. The thought of you going to hell terrifies me. I don’t want anyone to go without hearing this wonderful news. Thank you whoever took the time to read this. If you have a Bible, I suggest you read the book of John. You can find many Bible apps on devices. I pray that you and everyone who reads this will think about this seriously.
