Ways To Create A Contemporary, Maximalist Bathroom?

Maximalist bathrooms are often seen as functional, minimal spaces that are quick to enter and out. However, they can be transformed into a dazzling oasis of personality and style by embracing the maximalist mindset. To create a maximalist bathroom, opt for bold wall colors, embrace decorating with bold colors, and incorporate bold accents and key features.

A true maximalist space is layered with multiple statement finishes, fixtures, and accessories that amplify each other. Designer Amy suggests that a true maximalist space is a shout of heavy color, bold unique accents, and whimsical design, not necessarily involving many decor items.

To create a maximalist bathroom, opt for bold wall colors, decorate with pattern, add opulent fixtures, make a statement with lighting, layer accessories, embrace different patterns, mix rich colors, add texture, use gold, and experiment with furniture. By incorporating subtle reflections and incorporating bold colors, you can create a rich and luxurious bathroom that reflects your personality and style.

In summary, maximalism is about taking your favorite features – color, pattern, texture, and accessories – and taking them to the max. By embracing the maximalist mindset and incorporating bold color schemes, unexpected design pairings, statement wallpaper ideas, and fun accent walls, you can create a unique and stylish bathroom that reflects your personality and style.

  • Omg finally some color it’s so refreshing. Every you tube article showing houses it’s so much white neutral and texture that it to me they all look the same it feels like there is no personality and that there home would be unsellable if they added color. Ps your outfit is absolutely gorgeous on you and your skin everything looks so pretty.

  • Have always loved and embraced this style. My world is full of color, and every item has a story to tell. And luckily, I actually enjoy dusting! My family has lived in the South since the early 1700s, and I do believe this is a style many Southerners embrace…we are very sentimental about all the pieces we inherit.

  • Now I feel at home! I lovvve ❤ max style! I have some beautiful dressers and beds with big headboards from Poland, very old, antique brass lamps, colorful carpets, very old mirrors, fun velvet garlands, etc. This style makes me so happy 😊. It’s been difficult finding people in my area who enjoy this lovely style. But it’s such a pleasure coming home to my happy home each day!

  • Rebecca that jumpsuit is gorgeous on you! Although theirs some beautiful pieces it would make me crazy.I used to be a maximalist but with primitive/ colonial “New England” stuff But it was making me crazy having 30 dough bowls, mashers and what not i have been on the purge for several months now with everything and have gone to 1700’s period “primitive ” and I finally found my style.Although i have always loved good designs and beautiful things home/garden it’s just hard finding designers who do my style… However no matter what I always get design tips and ideas with Rebecca.🕊️💚

  • And I can’t wait FOR you to show the Maximilist style to me!!! Yes, I like rich, opulent things… I love having different rooms with unique moods, and mixing items from different eras. There are just too many pretty things in this world for me to turn my back on them all… There IS a way to do it right – and then there are those without a vision or a theme. This willing pupil is ready to learn more about the rich, stimulating and comforting elements of Maximilism!!!

  • Love it! When I was a kid, I flipped through one of my mom’s Redbook magazines. There was an article about four different types of design styles. They had romantic, contemporary, and country I think it was. They each had some nice elements but didn’t really get my attention. Then I saw the fourth style which I think they referred to as free spirit, but it was totally the maximalism you’re showing here. Even as a kid I recognized that was me. My house is full of so many things each with a story, and I find it incredibly comforting. It is so refreshing for somebody to really clarify the difference between maximalism and hoarding. Thank you!

  • Hello Rebecca. I have been viewing articles produced by yourself and the family for years. For me, this is by far the funnest and colorful article. I love ittt!!! How adorbs!!🙂. Thank you for considering us Maximalists and Grand Millennials ( I am not a millennial, BTW, lol).Again, thank you, Rebecca & Team 🙏🥀💐

  • Rebecca, I have a comment not on this style, but on your overall talent and style. I think you are incredible and I love how you communicate. What disappoints me is how you deal with family pictures, i.e., basically to ignore them. Families and our pictures are one of the most important elements of home. I’d love to see you teach a how to article on displaying family photos, especially a feature wall with different sizes, same frame or different, etc. I understand why you tell people to remove them but please think about giving your viewers alternatives because if you don’t, I bet some of those photos are creeping back in to your beautiful rooms! This is so needed that perhaps you can get Shutterfly or one of the on-line frames sites to sponsor the article. Every household is dealing with this issue. I’ve seen children’s art displays that enable the parents to change what’s featured. Maybe there is a similar thought for adding current photos to make the display wall reflect the present as well as the past. Just a thought. Congratulations on all you do to help so many people.

  • Rebecca, You look stunning and a lot younger in that jumpsuit🤗. Thank you for showing us this home. I think, be it minimalism or maximalism, what matters is orderliness, structure and not disarray and cluttered. Its all proportions. All the stuffs should be in good proportions to the size of the room, home, or place. Otherwise its going to be like hoarding.

  • I Iove color. But you would never know it by my apartment. Maybe my clothes though. It takes real talent to put all this together and not only look good but great. I love your outfit Rebecca. I recognized you were going for the maximumalist in your outfit with all the jewelry. But it works and you pulled it off. You look great!
