Cabinets that go to the ceiling, BRILLIANT. Also, it’s a great way to find out if your walls and ceiling are square and plumb. Big sink and not a double-sink or split sink; BRILLIANT. If you can’t get a turkey roasting pan in the sink, then you have the wrong sink and configuration. For a rental unit, this is a homerun in so many ways.
I’m so glad I found this article! I live in Chandler and hope to use some of the same resources you did. My husband and I are avid DIYers (he worked apartment maintenance for several years and knows quite a bit) but feel somewhat out of our depth with a kitchen reno. The guy who lived here before us did a pretty obvious DIY job and it looks pretty janky (some crooked drawers, cabinet boxes not level with the ones next to them, etc.). We were highly considering paying the thousands we were quoted by the pros, but your article gives us hope that we can reno the kitchen on a budget. Thanks!
It all goes together so well, the floors and the tall cabinets, I like the clean lines and how you didn’t trim out above the cabinets. Simpler but goes better with the space and the sink belongs where it is, hate they made the kitchen worker so isolated in design before. This look just makes the flow of conversation so much easier and Electrolux is the best they invented so much and are such a iconic brand. So high end. Looks like you spent way more than that. I built my cabinets from a box and I paid more so high five on that price! I’ll have to check them out next time I need cabinets!
Great job! So you designed the kitchen with ikea and ordered from a different company. Can you just submit the design you did with ikea and ask the other company to give you a quote based on the design and measurements? And is this the same quality as ikea or better? I am trying to do the same as you with my house because I want to rent it after but I do need to update the kitchen and we just got a 20,000$ quote from a local company and there is NO WAY I spend that money on a kitchen for a house that I will rent out later … thank you for all the info and again great job!
Great article! I’m in love with your kitchen, you did an awesome job!! And, the backsplash, I thought about using the subway title, too! But, looking at your design, I think I might choose a different style, but keep the glossy look! Your backsplash is amazing!!! Plus, you saved a lot on your remodeling and thanks so much on showing how you save on your materials! Hope to see more of your articles!! Thanks again!! 😊
