The mice have gotten too smart for me. They learned to avoid the glue traps we were using and stopped using paths where they were being caught. The advantage is they quit ruining all my cereal and pasta. The disadvantage is they learned they can use open paths because we can’t put traps there. I bought an electric trap that was working wonders but the bodies soiled the metal kill plate and now we can’t get it clean enough to stop setting itself off. I hate mice. I have pet Sparrows and I went on vacation for a 1 week and left them plenty of food. Apparently I had mice because when I came back all their food was gone and they were starved. It was 2 weeks worth of food and unlike dogs they will not eat constantly so the food should have lasted. I could see all the droppings. It took a year for me to find a solution because no matter how many I caught, more of them kept arriving. Place your bird cages at least 18″ or more off the ground on something with smooth metal poles for legs or anything else mice cannot jump to reach or climb. Also surround the lower portion of their cage with something to prevent food from falling out and onto the floor or buy a cage that already has this built into it. Keep your home free of open food and crumbs, clean and sweep often and the mice will move on.

Last month we noticed droppings in our pantry, and some food plastic bags were bitten, after doing some research we came to the conclusion that its a mouse 😩 . We also later found some droppings in a couple of our kitchen cabinets. We set up the sticky trap thingy with peanut butter on it around were we found the droppings but its been over 2 weeks with no sight of the mouse but we today found dropping in our living area ( which is next to our American style kitchen) . So I was chilling in my apartment today and heard a weird noise, and after a few minutes of trying to figure it out I found the culprit who immediately ran down a hole near the wall when he noticed me. At first I freaked out, but after I gained my composure I came up with a plan. I’d like to share my tip not mentioned in the article. I grabbed a big f*** all butcher knife and hovered over the hole. Within minutes the little guy popped out and cautiously looked around. I brought the knife down in a stabbing motion in his head. This didn’t do the trick but it stunned him in a defensive posture. I then used a chopping motion to the neck with extreme force which murdered the little f***. I bought a two pack of snap traps and a poison trap, but so far haven’t seen any other activity. Hopefully any of his friends and family were perusal and saw what happens when you run up in this house. P.S. The whole ordeal was terrifying and I think I may have ptsd from having to murder an animal today…. = (
I scared the mice in my room. There in a spot I can’t really get to because of the way my room is set up. I know two of the spots it keeps staying in. And I think I heard it doing something to my dresser. So I took my shoe and threw it at my dresser. It never made another sound. I’m trying to get rid of but in the mean time, Jerry will die and I ain’t playin these games.
The black T-rex traps work good. Take some sticky jam or corn syrup.. place a dash in the reserve bowl.. (optional: let set for a few days for jam or syrup to harden to create more tension with the peanut) take half a peanut, place it smooth/round side up into the sticky jam/syrup. That way the mouse has to apply pressure to get the peanut. With the smooth side up, it may take a few tries for mouse to get the peanut.. this method usually works.. ALSO, it is important to take a small cardboard box and cut door holes on all sides… Mouse traps in the open are less effective.. you want it so the mouse feels safer inside the box while going for the spoils.

Our mice usually come in for shelter in the fall. I have to trap a lot longer than 2 weeks. I have to trap until the snow gets deep enough around the house that stops them from traveling. But the other day I had one come right up to my feet, and it is spring. They should not be in the house. So I played the Ultrasonic pest repellers on youtube, and the chewing stopped. But remember your other pets will be effected too.
All sounds good. Have been living in an apartment for several years, and have had mice every year. The building management have tried to quell the infestation, have sent pest control to find them and set traps. The mice are too smart to get caught. I use glue trays, regular mouse traps, and poison mixed in with peanut butter. Only occasional catch one or two. I must say, I never see evidence that they are into my food stores. The cupboards are pretty well impervious to mice. But they still come in. Saw a couple last night, which ran across my carpet, not by the wall, and disappeared under a cabinet. I REALLY want to see the end of them. Btw, a REALLY effective way to stop them is to get a cat, that catches mice (they don’t all!). I had one, she caught a few, and was on alert for them. My dad has hoarding issues and i definitely inherited that. I decided to actually clean up my room since it looks like a bomb went off. I live in a condominium and our building has had mice issues for years and pest control doesn’t seem to help. I couldn’t sleep, I’d hear them all night, they were also damaging my couch, clothes and other things so I took it upon myself to do something about it.. I bought the soft bait and that didn’t work by itself so I would put gloves on, I open the small packages it’s in and I mix a very small amount of peanut butter in it and they want the peanut butter so they have no choice but to eat it. I tried it with the hard bait, the first time it worked and they ate it all but the second time they just nibbled at it only eat the peanut butter on the outside so that’s not a good idea. Also I don’t recommend if you have pets that walk around the house/apartment and if you have small kids that can get to the poison. Some of the mice won’t die within the walls and they will walk around very slowly before they die. If you smell a dead one then it’s close to where you are, I never smell it when they die within the walls and I realized every time I would smell them was because it was close to me under the couch or under my bed.

Hey all they are coming through your doors. Be careful leaving the m open and unattended. Also check around the outside of the house for burrows.If you can see light outside of your doors then they can squeeze through. I have a bow at the bottom frame of my door. I use a door sweep.I haven’t had a problem since.
I am using both snap traps and sticky traps and I still can’t catch the little bastards. I have even put the sticky traps on either side of the snap trap so they catch just try and take the peanut butter and they STILL were able to do it….getting frustrated for sure! I have 3 poison bait traps as well, and the mice haven’t even gone near them. I feel like I am dealing with mice that come from Stephen Hawking’s bloodline! WTF am I doing wrong??

Right so for anyone else here looking for advice save yourself a month and bait with both peanut butter AND meat. None of our traps worked like suggested because we didn’t have a mouse. We had a SHREW. They eat meat and insects only. They look a lot like mice. They can be aggressive and bite you. In the end what got ours caught was our young son whose sharp eyes spotted it hiding. We cornered it and killed it by whacking it with a dustpan. Lol. Kid thought that was awesome.
Helpful info. Drawbacks for me though. Glue boards are inhumane. I also live in a rural setting I have snakes, owls, ermine and other critters eating mice (just not fast enough) so poison is not an option. So the traditional snapper is the only option presented that would work for me. I also use an electronic mouse trap that humanely electrocutes rodents in a second and the newer models alert me via an app that a rodent has been killed. What ever traps I use have to be humane and poison free unless that poison cannot travel up the food chain. Locating the entrey points on my home has also been a trick I have not mastered yet either though I am always finding new places that are suspect at ground level. Thanks for the article!
You can use glue traps made for mice and rats. They work and just one trap can catch several mice (I caught 3 on one). You can get these glue traps at many dollar stores or places such as Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.. They are very inexpensive and well worth it for dealing with mice infestations in the home. What to do: After removing the paper from the glue trap, put a reasonable amount of peanut butter in the center (enough to entice a mouse/rat). It may help to heat up the peanut butter for about 10-15 seconds in a microwave beforehand to make it more aromatic although it’s not necessary to do so. Place the glue traps along walls where you suspect mice to be or where you have seen them before. Be patient. Mice are mostly active at night. Rinse and repeat to control the current infestation and to help prevent future infestations. Bye bye stupid, problematic mice. P.S. Try to eliminate any other source of food that the mice/rats mice have in your house such as crumbs so that they will be more desperate for the peanut butter on the glue traps.
Im going to try the unset trap trick. I use peanut butter and trap 2 straight away but I’ve got a stubborn mouse I’ve named Jerry. 🐁Jerry has even moved bait stations to one side so he can pass! He’s/she’s not falling for any of my traps. I’m hoping to get Jerry’s trust and make him think I’m leaving him treats because he has the run of the house and I’m hoping there’s only the one mouse left.

My cat caught one the other day. I heard the mouse and I thought it was the cat scratching the window. It’s the exact same type of noise. They typically don’t kill them right away because they like to play with them first. So far they’ve caught 3. 2 babies and an adult. They killed one baby mouse though and ate half of it and left its blood and guts all over the floor. The other two I took from them and released. Cats are very good hunters.
Have tried every step in this and many other articles, but they (mice) are still in my attic and wake me up with scratching noise in the night, especially just after dark and before sunrise. I’ve placed glue traps and rat poison mixed with soft food in corners and sprayed poison into the attic space and blocked holes where they might get in/out with crocodile tape and/or steel wool which they can’t chew through, cut/trimmed down plants which might give them access, etc. and they are still in there. Resilient little bastards they are! Oh and I live in northern Thailand which is warm or hot most of the year. Locals just say “learn to live with them, it’s part of nature” blah blah blah, but I need them gone by any means possible. Tonight I’m leaving the attic trap door open and hope some of the resident geckos will go up there and chase them out or kill them. Seemingly never-ending battle. I respect Mother Nature and haver learned to co-exist with many creatures, but these @#$%&*ing mice have to go! Any more advice short of burning down the house appreciated. 😉
My cheese mouse trap has taken out 4 in the last 10 days. 1 was found alive with the trap enclosed around its legs. Boiling water did the trick and cleaned the mouse trap in the process. Got to remove all competing food sources for mouse trap to be effective. I also agree with trying to not put human scent on mouse trap. Hose them down with water once they are set.
I use all three. The poison is in rooms were I normally don’t go in often. Snap traps are use where I know my dogs won’t get to them but I’m in the room at least once a day. Glue traps are more out but up against the wall plus my dogs leaves them alone. Do that will 100% prevent a huge problem down the road.
I never had a mouse till the last cat died at 18. Now it’s like they got a memo ‘cats gone’ and I’ve had several. I am not use to killing them, I’d rather catch and release. I hated snap trapping, plus they get use to them and don’t go near them after one or two died on them. I got rid of several with a simple bucket and food in bucket. They can only jump halfway up the bucket and by then I can release outside. The ones that can get out of bucket (better jumpers) are a problem. They love to explore, even places where there is no food. Why? THEY LIVE TO ANNOY ME!! They know I am a SAP and that they can jump out of any simple bucket. They are cute, and are smart as can be, but of course you don’t want them in your house. The sterotypical mouse invaider BS is just that. I am an animal lover, and killing them with glue traps is not an option. The glue traps they show can stick a mouse, they you can remove them with oil. BUT! The sticky traps sold are too deep and the mice cannot be removed with oil. So, I took some of the sticky off and put on pce of cardboard. Only then can the oil on the trap work without killing them Believe me, they put too much glue on traps and mice cannot be un-stuck from it. It is a terrible way to die and the mice squeek and suffer terribly. The glue traps in the vid you can’t find anywhere.

The problem with this kind of bait is you can kill important birds like owls and hawks that will try to consumed the poisoned mouse after it crawls away to die. This happens when you put this kind of bait in garages where they will escape the area to die. In your home isn’t as much of a problem. I prefer the traps.
What if I live in an apartment with a landlord who is useless when it comes to getting people to come deal with issues and I cant afford to have pest control come myself, I cant really seal off the outside of the building. I also have a cat so a lot of trap or poison options are off the table, they have ruined most of my food that isnt stored out of reach and th evast majority of my silverware and dishtowels.
I live in a apartment building and the mice are in the walls. We have double walls. They are extremely smart and will not go near the snap traps. I don’t know what they are eating because I stopped buying food. I live on the 3rd floor. Right below me is the dumpster that is literally right up against the building. Will they travel from my 3rd floor apartment straight down to the dumpster then come up to my apartment to nest? They are nesting in every room of my apartment. They are so loud at night squeaking in different frequencies. I figure they are communicating with each other. The owner of the building is basically blowing me off. I have so many pictures of actual proof of activity from mice and I still get ignored. Should I get a cat? I already have a dog and they are not phased about him one bit.
I set poison bait in a bowl and over the course of a week, the bowl was emptied and the mouse unaffected. Next I set snap-traps and it managed to pull the bait off the pin without triggering the traps. Later, I strapped the bait to the pin with a tight loop of thread. Once again, the bait vanished, leaving a loose loop of cotton behind and an unsprung trap. I eventually caught the Hairy Houdini rummaging in a trash bag and sealed the top before putting it in an empty wheelie-bin. It escaped the bag, but not the bin. The night was frosty and I guess it died of exposure as it was lying dead at the bottom in the morning. Now, I seem to have a regular infestation. I’ve caught 3 in 3 days using glue pads, but there was one playing tag with me in my bedroom most of the night before escaping and there seems to be more under the floor. I think maybe a small thermonuclear device is called for…
I have a couple of hot spots in my house like the basement laundry room. I started with peanut butter combined with poison on a plate for around 3 days and they started disappearing faster & faster (I have no pets or little kids). I then loaded these same poison balls on to the mouse traps (Brand: Authenzo) and got 6 or 7 mice over the course of 3 days. I thought I had won the battle as none of the traps had gone off for a few days. I then checked if there were more mice by removing the traps & putting the peanut + poison balls on a plate & surely, they started to disappear again. I kept refilling the plate for a couple days after which i placed the bait on the traps. However the mice have not gone for the traps since. I also placed glue traps as well as the poison bait stations (another brand) & the mice have been avoiding it all. I dont know if the mice have gotten smart or If im doing something else wrong thats keeping them away. Any help would be appreciated very much! – Other things i tried so far: – Have been wearing gloves since the beginning so theres so scent left behind – I also washed the traps after I read online that traps might smell of dead mice, tipping off the remaining mice but to no avail. I am on day 3 or 4 since they havent fallen for any bait. i dont know what to do
Glue boards are inhumane(the mouse can suffer and starve over a period of 5 days!) and might catch other creatures! Poison bait may cause the mouse to go outside and be eaten by your local wildlife like owls, thereby killing the owl. Also, if you have pets, glue boards and poison are a risk to your pets. Snap traps work the best and kill the quickest.
🐁 🛑 Pest Repeller from Amazon saved me mousefestation woes. I was being woken up by them or seeing them all the time. I bought 6 of them as the house is large including a cellar. Had them plugged in almost all room on all the time and up til now since plugging them in, no mice – for 6 months straight. They’re little white box, 3 inches long, 1 inch wide and has a little round blue light in the bottom right hand corner of the device. 👍🏼
lol @ how every article and professional just glosses over the sealing of every dime size hole in your house. “Just gets some wire mess and you’ll be good.” NOT. There are dime size holes EVERWHERE in a house. It would literally cost thousands of dollars to make sure there aren’t any dime sized holes or cracks in your house.
I seen a mouse squeeze in between my front door once. We think they was attracted because I use to leave the bag of bird seed outside. Peanut butter didn’t work for us, but lunch meat did the trick with a sticky trap. I tell you I cried my little soul out when I saw a tiny baby on it too. We caught 3 all together. The parents first then the baby a day later.
I see why people have cats for pets. I think now would be a great to get one. My first time ever seeing a nice, one just scurried under my bed………I have lots of stuff that I keep under my bed…….. I’m not scared. I finally found the guilty perpetrator that’s been leaving trails of seeds/nuts in my cupboard and I thought it was my family making messes and not cleaning up after themselves. It was the mice the whole time. No telling how many is hiding around the house.
Hi, my mom bought little black glue traps yesterday morning and we set them. At about 3:53 in the morning one was caught. But I think the nest is somewhere in the kitchen. Maybe behind the stove. There was one in my room, and he climbed on my bed and I ran so he ran. That was Tuesday at 4:00 in the morning and I have not slept in my room since. My mom said she would call ppl to come out here but I need them out here like now. There is a mouse currently on the trap trying to escape. We have about 6 traps set bcuz I think there is like 4 of them. What do I do next?
I tried the bucket contraption, peppermint rodent spray and the red and white plastic classic style one, all to no avail. Got 2 of the ones that electrocutes them as they are going to the bait. Instantaneous death, and so far in 24 hours, I killed 9. Works great. You put 4 batteries in, a small dab of peanut butter, switch it on and put it along the baseboard. Within a short time, the green light was flashing, meaning one was caught. The battery compartment and the kill box separate when you have a catch, and a door that flips open to drop the mouse in the trash outside. No touch. I tried glue traps too, which I find scary and awful, but I was desperate. Not a single one (thank goodness) went that way, because this shock method zaps them quick and they die instantly. It’s a humane as it gets. I have no interest in sharing my house with them unless they kick in on the mortgage~
I got a house mouse. He came in during a really bad rainy day in January. Climbed in through the window. I was sitting in bed with my laptop and I noticed something move really fast near the door. Once I’d looked over, it was gone. But I could tell – it was bigger than a spider, and that made no sense, because the way the lights are in the room there could be no shadow cast either. As I laid there, my brain just kept coming back with one single explanation : MOUSE. So I got up and walked over and looked behind the desk – sure enough, there he was. The mouse. I sighed, moved everything off the floor up high, so he had no place to run to. Then I emptied the desk. Then I MOVED the desk. NO MOUSE!? I looked around, confused …. but there he was, near the door. And as I watched, he simply ran UNDER the door jam. OUTSMARTED! BY A MOUSE! So I painstakingly put everything back, grumbling, complaining, and got back into bed. He arrived a few minutes later. Came to look at me, to make sure I wasn’t chasing him anymore, then he moved into one of the drawers in the desk. Whatever. Too fast for me anyway. So I started to feed him. Biscuit a day, water from an egg cup I filled and left near the drawer. He’s been here nine months now. Totally moved in. He wakes up at 2-3am, eats his biscuit or cheese, drinks, comes over to look at me …. then fucks off under the doorjam into the house for an hour. Probably looking for a mate. There are no other mice here. I left the door (front door) open for him for HOURS to persuade him to escape.
This guy is good- so far I have killed 5 mice in kill traps – the plastic kind – and it’s been about 10 days since we saw the first one . We found what they were eating a few days ago – – I’ve been trying to clean now – I warn everyone to be careful Which cleaners you’re using so you don’t create a toxic gas – I was worried cuz I first sprayed bleach water everywhere in the bathroom And then wiped all The droppings up with paper towel section by section – and then got a bucket of Lysol and dumped that water all over with sponges – nothing happened to me but I think it was bad to mix those ! So now I am Exhausted And will Keep at it next time I can get energetic ! ( they were eating hard corn cobs we had in a pile of stuff near the oven – for the squirrel feeder outside —!! ) I totally forgot about that corn ! Yuck !!! Such a mess . It was in a plastic bag so – get proper storage bins . 😢 so disgusting ! We will get this done !
Nasty!!! I seen 1 around 4 am to get up and have my cigar. I go lay down and heard something like the past 3 days but thought it was lizards!!! Everytime I dozed off I heard footsteps!!!! Then I stood outside on my lanai and this l fucker was just running around from my kitchen to front room! Def getting up out of here if it’s not helping me pay RENT!!! I’m so annoyed, scared and disgusted! WTH
I have old school electric victor mousetraps – they work. I even caught a few large pack rats in my house. I do not like messes. They have no time to poop or pee. It’s that time of year for me and I have just cleaned and prepped these guys up. I like that it alerts me to when a mouse is caught audibly. There is a beeping to let you know there is one in trap. I am a crazy meticulous cleaner with a very large log house in Colorado- it’s impossible to keep them out especially in fall. These traps- I’ve never used the batteries just plug in. It works like a charm and I shake the dead out and wipe clean and ready to get another. I do not like to use peanut butter because it’s hard to clean off the bait area. Easy to use some smelly granola cereal.
I how this truly works cause behind my house there’s a corn and agave field. (Yes I’m Mexican), nd there’s all types of animals back there (dogs, mice, squirrels, birds, snakes, skunks, venomous spiders, scorpions and maybe more tht I haven’t noticed. But the rats are the ones that we struggle with the most. Literally we’ve had an infestation since we moved here and every time qe extrerminate them they come back in like a week or a month max 😢
i had two mice came in my bedroom,i had gloves on and i killed a small mouse on my mouse trap my brother removed it and put in a bag and had gloves on after a few mins later a baby mouse showed up but he was very smart and got the food from the mouse trap by not setting the trap. but i bought poison that he can eat but can’t smell it .i had gloves on chopped it up mixed it with peanut butter put on something .he ate it four times and didn’t come back so i assume he’s dead .i made sure i washed my hands to. before handling the green block poison when i chopped up with peanut butter.
Ok we have mice way under our cabinets in our kitchen and they aren’t just living in the cabinets, there seems to be a space under our cabinets they use to get from one cabinet to another, also explains our snack cabinet being closed but mice poop and opened bags. Either way, I’m going to try to do the things said in this vid and if any of you readers have advice please reply. We need help.
We had family of mice living under fridge. It was warm, secure place with water (that conteiner, where defrost water goes). They had babies there and so on. It was hard to find, you have to do whole refrigerator maintenance, take out panels and empty that water container. But best result we got with split system, mounted on the wall. Well, wall was vibrating, mice flee!
The one thing that worked for us… The electrocution one failed miserably even tho baited with peanut butter. So …bought a bagful of tiny bags of rat pellets. We slide them under our mobile home monthly with a long stick. We only saw one in our house but doing that. monthly- religiously killed any all mice rats this year…not one dropping found this whole year. Plus we have an electric box emitting a sound they HATE…IT WORKS for us!!!!
Get a jack Russell terrier, they seem to be inbred with a passion along with the extraordinary energy and speed. to hunt down, chase as fast as lightning mice they see, even at night, they are hunters once they realize that mice are the prey in your house, incredible speed, much faster than mice, only gruesome thing is they eat the mice. but they are unbelievable mouse chasers, mouse hunters. they seem to love the challenge like a lion in the jungle seeking prey.
Viewing my article footage, I only see one mouse. As of last night, I somehow caught the mouse in my daughter’s bedroom. I don’t know if I should keep it trapped in there or release back into the house (for fear of the mouse pooping & peeing all over my daughter’s room. Could someone please advise? ps) If I keep it in the room long enough, will it die from lack of food, and if so, how long?
I believe there is mice under my bed because I see droplings under my bed and that is the only place I see them. (Typically that poo where they eat). I have heard biting at night and my room spells of wee. My mum dosent believe me and im too scared to move my bed. I don’t mind pet mice but home mice are scary. I’m too young to go get traps myself and my mum keeps denyng the infestation. I admit I am too lazy to clean up spills and I eat in my room so it is my faut but any suggestions? I have been sleeping on the coach in the living room in fear it will go onto me whilst I sleep in look of food. Also I hear people saying get a cat, it is not as easy as getting a pet. I can’t afford a pet and my mum would not budge if I begged, and also you shouldn’t just get a cat because they will potentially stop infestation. It feels wrong to do something like that!

Our house is to nice for these stupid unwelcome rodents. We just started noticing them. I’m so disgusted, I cried when I saw it in the garage. I just bought traps and the pest terminator will be here tomorrow. Thank GOD! Also, my doggie was petrified as well. He ran away and hid behind the couch, that lil sissy 😂
I moved out to the county been staying here for about 8 months now an sure enough seen a mouse couple nights ago bought traps an noticed he ate the peanut butter off of the one yesterday and now I jus seen him in my bedroom by my garbage can im freaking out I did manage to get my garbage out but don’t know where he went
I remember 2 or 3 yrs ago listening to a radio show and the subject was mice infestation … People telling how they’d spent $$$ for exterminators, traps, poisons et al and ultimately all to no avail .. Then callers joined in with the best no-fail advise of all — GET A CAT! Sooooo true … My beloved cats through all the years were always “on patrol” esp. @ night … Once in a while one would bring me a “present” when I sat down to breakfast … but this was rare as the mice quickly learned to fear the nimble quick & fast felines.
I got a mouse with a trap but I feel like a complete piece of shit. The trap didn’t kill it, just crushed half his face, and then decided to let him go free but when I let him go he just laid there and didn’t move, so I voluntarily brought him back to my house and I’m trying to help him get better lmao
Mouse traps are like invisible for it, I tried poison pellets, I got rid of some mice that way, my problem is leaving the door open, but I need it open to keep the fresh air coming in, they come from the sewers, so there’s unlimited supply, I can’t get infested here because I am also a little beast with this animals, my goal is to catch one alive and healthy and keep it in a jar, with just water and air until it dies slowly, so other mice will see its friend, they know this is not a place for them. I hate them! XD XD XD. They have made holes in my clothes before, they need the fabric of course, for their little nests and stuff. I don’t have time to be torturing little critters so I just want to get rid of them forever.
We now and than get one mouse in our home in Australia, we have old traps and they are so smart and take the bread from it. I did read about mint so will try that. A lot of Australia is having a rodent plague at the moment so luckily we don’t, shops are out of stock of stuff for rural areas. It must step over our Dalmatian and she gets up at night plus it goes near our birds
Thank God for these comments because I thought I was the only one. This morning, this pestering mouse fell down in my toliet with a plop sound, and YES!!! It got flushed down the toliet. Now, how in the world did it get up there?? Beats me. I was relieved until my brother went into the dinning room area and on top of my food container was a mouse and it scurried and ran off the table. WHY ME, JUST WHY ME??? I WANT IT OR ALL OF, THEM GONE!!!!!
During 2020, I killed over 100 rodents. They were climbing the cable and telephone utility cables and jumping through a crevice between the house and the patio. Found other small crevices throughout the house. Stop keeping track of 2021’s rodent kill, but they still keep coming. I am not sure from where but it’s an infestation. And they chew through the plastic so storing food in plastic containers has not helped much either.
In my house there’s a really weird situation going on. There’s a single mouse that shows up every few weeks. We put traps down they never get snapped and then the mouse isn’t seen For a long time but then shows up again. I’m wondering if maybe he is transiting into the house from some other location. No other signs of mouse activities chewing droppings et cetera.
In my workplace (old house turned into a medical office) SLOBS left opened boxes of matzo and Cocoa puffs scattered all around a top drawer in our break room(!!) My assistant just said “Don’t get ANYTHING out of those drawers, there’s a mouse infestation!” We didn’t SEE the actual rodents, but their Leavings were Everywhere! GROSS…and, Dangerous. I thumped on the refrigerators, but none came out from behind them. I think I’ll bring some Zapper traps with fresh batteries. They want to call an Exterminator but, why not DIY it, and save $$??
I have a mouse trapped/cornered in my closet. Unfortunately, it’s my wife’s extra closet and she has all manner of clothes and boxes in it. I’ve placed 4 glue traps and 1 poison bait station in the closet. I’ve wedged a number of towels in the gaps between the door and floor. It’s been about 8 hours since I last drove the mouse into the closet but all my traps are still empty. I’m afraid I may have to start pulling all of my wife’s things out of the closet and perusal the mouse scurry to another part of the apartment. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much my husband died four years ago this month, and I had moved in with my father to take care of him after because he was dying and moved some of my stuff down there to store in his family room and we left our doggie door open because little Hopper didn’t want to go through the plastic to go in and out and little. Did we know we were getting a mouse infestation until we saw one run across the floor in the living room, one day, and I ended up catching 49 mice in the next week and a half on the sticky traps that you showed And that was a year ago my father died and now I’m in a different place around the block in a little apartment and in the last week and a half I’ve killed five so I don’t know what the deal is but thank you for your advice, you had some really good tips and since I’m in the same area and neighborhood I wonder if the area is infested with mice because it’s an area I grew up in in the 60s and 70s and it’s a very nice neighborhood in the city I mean it’s not like we’re out living in the open field there’s probably 50 houses in our four block area but we maybe had one mouse a year but nothing ever like this, so I don’t know if the weather is changing to make them breed more. I don’t know what the deal is. It’s it’s awful.
not for nothing but this is NOT EASY! imagine mice taking over the entire house and not realizing it. then you go to clean behind the fridge and see a pile of mouse droppings, then pull the stove droppings, then pull stuff from pantry droppings EVERYWHERE. now you have to clean the ENTIRE HOUSE. and relocate all the food its definetly NOT EASY. maybe setting the traps and stuff is easy. but the cleaning part and finding the holes on the outside of the house is NOT EASY. at first i felt so bad to use glue traps, snap traps and poison. but now i hate these little fckers!!! THIS MEANS WAR! my damn cat became too lazy and is useless in this fight.
Never saw a mouse but I found a drawer in my kitchen littered with droppings and they’d torn up the drawer lining I glued down for nesting… DISGUSTING I think the only reasons I haven’t seen any yet are because my 3 cats are keeping them at bay (no wonder I always saw them trying to climb into my deep kitchen drawers and cabinets…) and I keep all my food and kibble sealed in a pantry they can’t get into. without alerting the cats. I’ll be using these tricks at home.
we have so many fucking mice in our home and they are so ballsy they will sometimes run across our counters IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING DAY but it gets so much fucking worse at night the worst part is my chore is to load the dishwasher THAT IS IN THE KITCHEN and i usually do it at night but reading these comments makes me so greatful that my room is upstairs and they havent come up here once

We’ve had both rats and mice and mice are way worse. The rats were easy to kill and get rid of. Took 2 weeks. The mice won’t stop coming, they’ve ruined everything in half our house. We kill dozens and dozens more just jump out of nowhere. They climb walls, curtains, dressers, and get into everything.
Been a retired firefighter 3 1/2 years after 32 years on. One of the last calls I had was a fire in a gas line behind a stove. Short of it, looking at the gas line there was a small hole and burn in the metal gas line. Guy in the apt said he moved it to clean and pushed the stove back and bang, gas ignited. So I’m looking at the line and my deputy showed up and said capt. lemme look at the cord. Sure enough, fucking mice chewed through the electrical cord for the gas stove. When the guy pushed the stove back in the damn elec cord arced against the gas line and the arc made a hole and an ignition point. I have been in my home 29 years and this winter has already been a banner year for mice. For 28 years I have nailed 4-7 mice per winter. Just in the last 5 weeks I am over 32 mice. Winter hasn’t even started! Any compassion I ever harbored for these little shits has departed!
Left my garage door open one night.. both doors. The big door and the door that leads into my house. I’ll be damned I have two fuckin mice in my kitchen! They avoided traps last night and I just chased one and tried to whack it with the broom😂 I’m so mad dude. I’m SO mad. Cause now my house smells like mouse pee and it stinks. So now I have to steam mop in every crevice
