  • You guys are OK. Definitely an asset to the painting industry. I love to watch and learn on your website. However, I’ve been perusal you for several years now and I must say I find you very entertaining. However, you guys don’t seem to have your spray skills down just yet. I know, you’ve been doing this for years and you know what your doing. My opinion is that you should be able to quickly adjust your technique to any type of finish, primer, etc… right on the fly. Those “spatters” you’re talking about are most likely due to that 24″ combustion chamber that you’re using as a tip extension. I’ve been spraying for 43 years now and I use Rodda paint almost exclusively. Prior to Rodda I was a Dunn Edwards man. I’ve used many many brands in my life, most gone now, but I know what I’m talking about as well as anyone. Chris, if you were to add a swivel to the end of your tip extension, and drop down to a 12″ as your “go-to” extension, you might see a great improvement in coverage and quality of finish. Please guys, understand that I’m not heckling you. It’s just that I’ve been a faithful viewer for quite a while. I can no longer keep quiet. As a painter with plenty of years experience, and you guys testing a product that I feel is among the best available, it seems necessary for me to speak up. Adjust your spray style to the product you’re using and your results will fare quite higher. I know when I use Sherwin Williams, I need to change the way I spray by stepping down a tip size or sometimes upping my tip size.

  • If it’s going on too thin increase your tip size or spray slower. Suggestion – use a swivel at the end of your wand so you can spray the underside of the edge of the shake. Back rolling does help. My experience with CoverCoat AC 911 has been good. It’s not a flat paint; it has a velvet flat finish; a slight sheen. This coating is perfect for stucco substrates where a low sheen or close to a matte finish is desired. If paint is splattering the pressure in the pump is either too high or your spray tip is worn… I have not experienced any of the complaints of this coating as seen in the vid. Some of the comments are puzzling?

  • I believe Ultimate II is their top of the line exterior paint. It’s urethanized (I think that’s the term they use ?) I recently used it and actually really liked it. It hung well, even on aluminum siding, and covered well (I did light yellow over white). Im no expert, but I thought it was a decent product.

  • This is the first time i have heard of the that brand. But there are a few that do the same thing rolling. Will not say the brand, but this paint was coming back off wall when rolling out my lines. It was the weirdest thing. I have never seen that from a paint. Even the cheap paint from Sherman Williams that is costly also. But love the reviews and no matter how long you have painted you learn something new all the time. Do you guys use any paint conditioner? Like Floetrol Latex Paint Conditioner? is there another one that you guys knows about that is good for latex paint. I used the Floetrol and liked the way the paint went on the wall. Thanks and have a great day/night

  • The sheen difference is because you have only put one coat on. You are using a different product to what is on the house. If you were using the very same paint that was used last time then one coat would suffice but a different product even with a good color match is not going to cover perfectly. One company’s flat paint is not exactly the same as another. Most professional painters would know this.
