Is It Still Possible To Improve The Inside Lighting Of My Camaro?

The author has installed interior spectrum lighting dark night and footwell lighting in their 2016 Camaro, which is up for winter. They have also installed foot well LED lighting, Dome LED bulb, and trunk LED bulb from Phastek, which was easy to install. The 5th Gen Camaro interior LED lighting kit includes 2 strips of 18 SMD SUPERBRIGHT strips. The author is considering retrofitting this to the OEM spectrum lighting package and is considering using an app or remote control for the lights.

The right lighting options can transform the interior of your Camaro, adding style, functionality, and a touch of luxury. From ambient lighting to LED upgrades, there are various options available. A pure white bulb produces a pure bright white output, matching closest to a 5000k HID bulb. A cool white bulb provides a slight hue of blue.

LED lights bring several benefits and are not as hard to install as they may seem. For those who cannot afford the RS with lighting package, there are ways to upgrade to the lighting package. The author also has a question about interior upgrading and ambient lighting, specifically wanting to make the interior a blue color. They suggest removing the lights from the sides by the door and adding a red seatbelt instead of the lights.

Phastek offers various 2016-2018 Camaro lighting upgrades, including HALO Headlights and Foglights, Interior and Underhood LED Lighting, Door Trim Illumination Packages, and expandable Camaro underglow lights.

  • Thanks for doing these articles. I just got a 2001 Camaro Z28 that I inherited. It’s the same Arctic White color as your car so these articles are giving me ideas of what I can do with mine. Just wondering: did you have to repair your BCM unit by re-soldering or could it have already been worked on? Like many owners, I had issues with my radio, horn, and driver/passenger windows randomly turning off and on. I had to re-solder a cracked solder joint to make all those issues go away. I’m still needing to drive a bit more to confirm if the problem is completely fixed.
