Corner trim can be done with thin walls and only vinyl material, and can be edited at the top if they intersect sloping roofs, gables, etc. They can be grouped and copied around where needed. Model the trim board as a sweep with a profile or an extrusion, adding parameters as needed to change width, thickness, and any offset from the placement. For wood trim on the corners of the exterior walls, use a ‘Trim’ wall type, disallow wall joins, and draw the trim.
In the Modify panel, click Trim/Extend Multiple Elements and select the vertical interior wall on the inside of the exterior wall. In the Modify panel, click Trim/Extend Multiple Elements and define a crossing. Use the Trim and Extend tools to trim or extend one or more elements to a boundary, extend non-parallel elements to form a corner, or trim them to form a corner if they intersect.
For a house with wooden clapboards, show trim around the corners and up the roof slopes like you would traditionally see. To create exterior door and window trim in Revit, create a profile of a corner trim piece, assign it in a wall sweep, and place it as a verticle wall sweep at the corner.
Start with a line-based family template and switch to Generic Model if necessary. Model the trim board as a sweep with a profile or extrusion, and adjust the width, thickness, and offset from the placement.
