How To Turn The Inner Plane Inventor Around?

To rotate a work plane around a circular axis in Autodesk Inventor, click on the Standard toolbar or press F4. The best option is “Angle to Plane”. Right-click a grounded work point in the browser and choose 3D Move/Rotate. Click the triad to open the dialog box. Click the Redefine alignment or position command, then click.

There are several ways to reposition bodies in a multibody part in Autodesk Inventor. You can freely drag bodies along the X, Y, and Z axes or move bodies in a linear direction. To precisely rotate a part, use a constraint and an angle mate either with another part or with the environmental origin planes.

On the ribbon, click Assemble tab Position panel Free Rotate. Click the component to rotate and drag to the appropriate view of the component. To rotate in any direction, click inside the 3D rotate symbol and drag in the appropriate direction.

For sketch entity rotation inside the sketch, make sure you have project the Z axis as a point and launch the Rotate command. Make a rotated plane, draw the cross section and extrude it. Create a profile (cross section) and a path at the desired angle and sweep the pipe.

When the whole differential housing is rotating, the “idler” bevel gear will not rotate because Inventor does not enforce the constraint between that. To achieve the desired rotation, drag in the desired direction and adjust the geometry accordingly.

  • Nice article !! But there’s some features that need you to pay attention to it please like the section view of the assembly we do have a quart and half view but what if we want another angle like 120° we can’t do it like solidworks which offers a very complete and customisable options for section view beside of that if we want to exclude some components for being cut we really can’t unless if these parts were created from the inventor’s database but solidworks offers to you the possibilities to exclude any parts you want !! I do like autedesk products so please improve the assembly section
